    Great video Lyn!!! I think people out there should know they can grow cactus and not get " stuck" on them literally!!! Hahaha!! There are so many friendly cactus as you have shown!! Not all have cholla or glochid wicked spines!! There is just so much diversity in our plants!!! WHOAH!!! With that wind!!! I know how you feel in that moment!! Sometimes winds hit the Lexon plastic panels on the roof of the greenhouse and make kind of a roar across them!! Makes me cringe every time. Or when hail hits or super heavy rain!! Makes me think at that moment OH $#]% !!!! We're having a tornado!!! Very scary Sometimes!!! Especially when we are in a structured full of plants that DO have wicked spines and or poisonous sap!!! Hmmmm... we really do love our plants, don't we guys? Thanks for sharing Lyn!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, to across the emerald isle, have a wonderful day!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌️💖🌵🌷🌸🌾🌳💐🌴🌹🪴🌻🌿🍀🌱😃👍

It had a little stick note in it when I bought it that said "Pet me, I don't bite" I've had it for a couple years now & love having friends and family touch it when they visit.... Hi Lyn, I love the wind. So peaceful sounding but not so peaceful when it blows you away.
    Need your help. My Trichocereus Grandiflora keeps corking. She has no pests. She gained a lot of green growth over the summer but alas she had a set back when it turned cold. Do you think it may be she's getting too cold? I've stopped watering her. Could it be she needs water as she is still producing new spines? Your opinion would be very appreciated.

    • @desertplantsofavalon
      @desertplantsofavalon  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Marie :-D so sorry to hear your Tricho Grandiflora is corking, its possible the changes in the environment due to the colder weather may have caused the corking, but if the corking is coming from the top it could be caused by spider mites, they are almost impossible to see with the human eye and I notice my grandiflora 'red star' often gets spider mite and I see the orange corking on the top especially on the new growth, its best to not water her now until the Spring, its very possible that the corking is due to the colder temps and these cacti have a tendency to cork once the temps drop in winter if they are still in growth and producing new spines, if she is outside then if its possible you may be best to bring her indoors to overwinter, especially if the night temps drop below 40F /4c, thanks so much Marie for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Friday XXXX

    • @solarwinds-
      @solarwinds- 9 месяцев назад

      Great advice Lyn. She is corking from the substraight up. The crown is still healthy so I think it is caused from the cold as it only corks during low temps. I will keep her in doors and, just in case, I'll treat for mites. Thanks so much Lyn. You're a good friend.@@desertplantsofavalon
