    Sold and driven a good few of these and the golf r, both fantastic cars. Go for the golf R if you care about stats/speed/launch control, if you are a real driver go for the gti performance.
    1 point I would disagree with is DSG, dsg box on these cars are amazing and I would recommend

    Depends if you want pops and bangs tbh, personally I wouldn't. I have a 2019 Audi S3, I can get them if I get a res-delete, like on the R, but tbh I quite like the quiet plus the performance, my boy racer days are long gone.! For the car in this video, id keep it stock, its quick enough imo for FWD, mapping it might make it quicker but change the feel of it.

    My plan for my GTI PP manual is stage one with decent tyres, I think then you will have the perfect hot hatch.. Mid range punch will be awesome. The only bugger is needing the up-graded clutch... Sam, I will wait and see what you do clutch wise... However if a do decide to stay stock I will not be too disappointed. Great cars...

      @@coops111s a good call if you have got £45k to drop on a hatch. I bet you would have as much fun and practicality in a stage one GTI PP Manual for £25k.

      @@coops111s Yes, I do like the S3 and would like to try one. I have had a few Audi's in the past and I do like attention to detail and quality.

      Been running Stage 1 on a manual 7.5R for a few years, it is relatively low mileage and I don’t drive like an idiot 😎 . the fabled Cadburys clutch is still holding out 👍

    Golf GTI better off with a DSG. Looks a bit dated in a 3 door.

    Any coolant usage or loss? And oil too?

    • @SamAustin
      @SamAustin  2 года назад

      I cant speak for the owner exactly but I believe they had no issues. For me after 5 1/2 years of ownership I've never had to top up the oil, just annual oil services. Coolant has been an issue though on occasion and finally resulted in the thermostat housing and the water pump being replaced here recently: ruclips.net/video/Oil-uwcxzBk/видео.html

      @@SamAustin Thanks for replying. I noticed the American owners seem find this more of an issue.

      Have a Mk7.5 PP DSG which I just had to have a coolant leak fixed around the thermostat housing area. Pretty common problem apparently but found a good independent VW specialist who fixed it for about half the cost of the main dealer. Had it four years now and absolutely love it. Also Love the DSG as I have a dodgy left hip which aches like hell using a manual. Currently considering a Stage 1 tune. The only car I would consider changing it for is a Mini JCW.
