4:40 welcome to the 80's , kid
I love it whenever Robocop beats up a bad guy and just doesn't even arrest them
The Doctors and Nurses in the scene where they're working on Murphy are real. The writers knew nothing about the medical field and so they gave the Doctors and Nurses a scenario of what happened and everything they said and did is what they would've done if it were a real man dying on the table.
This was the time where Action Movies were made for Adults
And marketed to kids anyway.
@@the7thword I did a RUclips video on "Adult" movies that had a toyline made for kids.
Before there was the PG13 middle ground.
After watching this and Total Recall, now you gotta finish the Paul Verhoeven sci-fi, action trilogy by reacting to Starship Troopers (1997).
I second that
Yes
4:36, it's The Director's Cut!! Cool!
This movie is one of my all time favorite films.... there is so much nuanced commentary on U.S. society..... and i saw it new 1986....sad how nothings changed.
1987
"Is this like a dystopian kinda future thing?"
No...Now its now!
RoboCop is more relevant nowadays.
The dystopian future of cautionary fiction has become the dystopian present.
@@porflepopnecker4376 indeed
No matter what year you are in, Detroit will always be a dystopian shithole XD
Unfettered capitalism
Love this movie!! Fun fact: several actors were considered for ROBOCOP:
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Armand Assante
Michael Ironside
Sylvester Stallone
And Rutger Hauer, but each of the actors had equally large frames and wouldn't fit the costume, until Peter Weller was cast in the movie, being 6 foot and 150 lbs.
Those are ALL good choices - I don't know why, but I STILL think that Clarence Bodiker is played by Michael Ironside!
'He got like 30 rounds plugged in him'
You missed a few zeros there bro
"this is really well directed and edited" Yeh Verhoeven kind of ushered in a new visual style in Hollywood, it's kind of a brutally honest style of filmmaking which makes him one of my favorite directors
Ronny Cox is excellent in this.
I LOVED him as the villain in the original TOTAL RECALL. I also remember him from THE CAR (1977), a movie which scared the heck outta me at age 12. : (
Everyone is excellent
So is Miguel Ferrer ..RIP
Kurtwood also
I love that they call the villain 'Dick'😆 You don't always have to be subtle
Yes! You went with the unrated version! More visible violence!
I've noticed that, of the few reaction videos to this on RUclips, they are all the Directors cut.
3:53, the stop motion was done by Phil Tippett whom would later win the Oscar for Best Visual Effects in Jurassic Park.
Watch Rambo: First Blood
ID BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR!
Come quietly or there will be
Trouble
Another absolute classic
"OH MY GOD!! THEY KILLED KINNY!"
I'm sad that I seem to be the ONLY one who has made that joke about Mr. Kinny being turned into swiss cheese in the boardroom.
This movie isn't as violent as Total Recall but it was the most violent movie of the year it came out.
They had to make repeated cuts to ROBOCOP to avoid an "X" rating for graphic violence. Ah, the 1980's such a great time to be a teenager. : )
Fun fact, when director Paul Verhoeven first got the script he threw it in the trash. But it was rescued by his wife who read it and told him how good it was and convinced him to do it.
10:27 i like how he comes through the wall to get the bad guy
Batman did that too in the dark knight returns comic which came out one year before robocop
And then peter weller was the voice actor for Batman in the animated movie from dark knight returns
It is very hard for me to believe that hearing somebody say he hasn’t ever watch this movie Or some other blockbuster from that era, and then i found i forgot that it has been over 30 years already….. and I was a kid when I first saw this. Ah… i miss my childhood
I was legitimately terrified of ED 209 as a kid and even worse with Cain on the 2nd one.
The scene where the first executive was killed had to be reshot after production. The director wasn't happy with the death (Not enough blood). So they just kept adding squibs and blood packs, then basically blew the actor up.
It was amazing growing up in the 90s
So, a bit of the movie you didn't comment on (at least, not in the video) is when Robocop catches the car keys on his way out of the precinct. It was Peter Weller's first day in the suit. It took all day, 50 takes to get that 1 second of film in the can.
Yes....! I love watching you young people watch good movies Elder days LOL awesome video thanks
The old guy is the same guy from Halloween 3
You're like only the second person out of the hundreds of people who have reacted to robocop that noticed it makes no sense for Ed 209 to be armed during the boardroom demonstration. That's a testament to how well this movie works that no one even thinks about how ridiculous it is.
Your reaction to the boardroom presentation of ED209 was fantastic!
America in the 80’s, ED-209 would definitely be armed. Hands down the best satire about the 80’s in general. Amazing, the remake went the other way, “what if ocp ran like apple”
4:49 I always laugh at that part. A paramedic? Yeah I dont think a paramedic is going to help much in that situation lol.
Think your shocked watching this now? I was 3 when this movie came out. I watched it later on VHS. It was advertised for kids. I have the VHS case still with a PG rating. The 80s were a magical time.
The bad guy was the same actor played Red in That 70s Show
Not bad at all, that dude was mean mofo in this movie.
Gotta remember too, he was wearing a vest, so that stopped or at least slowed down a few of the rounds. This movie is a masterpiece, first saw it in 1987 when i was 7... so pretty much when it came out. lol
You saw it on pirate video?
There is a lot of commentary on the Capitalist and economical ways of the futur seen from the 80's.
The TV Ads and News is perfect to put you in the world of the movie, throuhg something that is familiar and relatable.
We've all seen the news or the TV ads, TV ads are a great time capsule of the era in wich they where made, just watch old ads from the 80's/90's, you'll see that there is a difference.
And Paul Verhoeven knew that, thats why he also uses it in his Starship Troopers movie.
Alos yeah there's gonna be violence, its an 80's Rated R, action/Scyfy movie, and ther's also a reason why Verhoeven was dubbed the "Violent Dutchman" (reference to the legendary Privateer ship the Flying Dutchman)
I mean his filmography is self explanatory, Robocop, Total Recall, Starship troopers.
Kurtwood Smith made a great villian
If you haven't seen it, Stand By Me is a must dude.
This is one of the best movies to watch now and say exactly what’s wrong in law enforcement. Lol Detroit! Gotta love it
just found this, first time i watched this movie i was 8, loved every second of it (the 2nd movie was the one that gave me nightmares), i'm in for the ride, please don't edit out too much ;D
I do not have time to go onto the Polls. But please look at Superman The Movie from 1978 and the sequal 1980, Superman 2. They started the superhero films. Trust me!
Ah yes, 80s movies. The violence was on a completely different level. Good times!
Robocop 2 is a pretty good movie too. Also if you haven’t seen it, the director of robocop also directed Starship Troopers, a classic
A paramedic?! 🤔
🤣🤣🤣
It's easy to forget just how hardcore that film is. Robocop 2 is even worse/better. The uncut version of that is insanely violent.
You asked the question none of us kids (at the time) seemed to ask at the time... why was ED209 armed in the demonstration.
"Is Detroit like still really high crime today?"
For years they were going to do a Terminator and Robocop . Peter Weller was in no way interested in it after he did Robocop 2. So they just made Robocop 3 without him involved
It's weird how violent this is yet they made a kids cartoon of it. I saw it on cable when I was a 10 and it gave me nightmares.
This is what Covid turns people into. Reactors lol
7:50, puppet version of Weller.
MovieFusion Were you watching the blu ray version? It definitely looks like the newer blu ray they just released.
Rococop 2 is fun . I wouldn't say worth a reaction but I'd say check it out by yourself. The Robot he's goes up is more of mech cyborg. He's pretty awesome
It's bloody horrendous. People can't see what an amateur convoluted mess Robocop 2 is.
@Ricardo Alonso Rojas Never ever ever say this again. Robocop 3 was never even made.
6:45,:great line right there.
Good reaction 😎
Thank you!
Awesome movie
How can anyone not of seen robocop 😱 teens faces these days when they see real violent scenes 🤣
One of the best R movies
He played Batman in The Dark Knight Returns DC animated movies, awesome movie, you should watch it 👍
No CGI blood here unlike a lot of action movies these days
2:35, the film takes place in 2045.
Bullets will ricochet off of any hard surface. You don't design it LOL
A paramedic?! Lol
I`ll buy That for a Dollar!
And the 2014 Robocop Movie has a PG13 xD
10:15 sounds like Trump 😂
All the classics, great... But looks like Im the only nerd who know all 80s movies. I menage local board games and fantasy club and lots of teenagers and Milennials newer watched Alien, The Thing, Robocop, Willow, Goonies, Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Arnold or Sly... what the hell? xD
10:06 if it weren’t for the dangers presented to the hostage...but that kinda punishment is exactly what those types of people deserve...
This is an action film and a black comedy, that it why it was armed.
9:22, she knows who is.
The original cut was rated x. It’s the only movie that’s not porn to get this rating. As far as I know
ONLY THE BEST ACTION MOVIE EVER!
Better than Gladiator and T2?
@@orangewarm1 gladiator is really just battle set pieces with incest
T2 is fantastic but I just can't abide Eddie Furlong. Sarah Connor is not very sympathetic either.
Whereas Murphy?....... 👍
Dark City thank me later
6:10 that's messed up!
Watch Weird Science, Cornetto Trilogy, Mad Max 1,2,3, Fury Road.
call a paramedic jajajajajaaj
they have it armed because it is a stupid futeristic world with no law and order. I was keener on it as a kid
Can you fly Bobby
Why mirrored video?
To avoid copyright
@@MovieFusion Oh. Did not know YT was so strict with these, not like your showing the whole movie LOL
@@johto they are REALLY strict. Even with showing small clips on any other video. I try my best to avoid the copyright claims and mirroring sometimes helps
This guy is sooooo good looking man
I agree. Started watching because he is cute, stayed because he is a great reactor :)
the good old times of entertaiment and fredoom before wokes armies.
Watch Robocop 2 As well ... just ... not 3 .. there is no 3, pretend that shit doesn't exist
Just to stir the pot... Does anyone think of Trump when they watch the scene with the mayor? He demands a recount and no matter what the results he wants to keep his job...
after watching all these masterpieces, you'll realize how perfect and original movies made in 80s/90s
then you'll change your top list and remove all terrible Marvel movies.
I still love marvel movies man, this does not change that lmao.
Defund the the Police?!? This kind of stuff would actually happen if US gonna go with it, and this movie is about 30 years old...
