God the memories, They were yellow and white, i remember the engine was under a cover beside the driver and had a seat facing him. every morning the condensation used drip down and soak me hair! wish i could wind the clock back 20 years
Lovely clip , :50 I think that's Eamon from The Riordans :-) Re colour TV ,it was introduced for the Eurovision Song Contest 1971 in Dublin on Saturday, April 3, 1971. Full-time color broadcasts began in 1976. I think I remember seeing the first colour ad newyear 1977 and it was for the JWT travel company. Thanks Tecmovie
RTÉ started broadcasting in colour in the late 1960s, more or less in line with the UK. However, they still made a lot of black and white material right until the mid 1970s. I remember the hoo-hah when they announced that "The Riordans" was going to be in colour and that was around 1974.
@@liamgleesonjnr.3600 Jaysus you've some memory. I could remember the bit with the breadman tripping over the bike but wasn't sure up to now if it was from something else.

Another great clip, Des.
Very informative as I see Eire has different traffic rules regarding school buses than the US. Good to know when I drive over there.
Anyone remember the one that started with a voiceover by Mike Murphy "so you're off to school on your bike"?
