You were very thorough and clear and allowed me to follow subject matter I usually cannot. Thank you.
Glad to hear it helped you! You are very welcome.
@@Sellbrokedotcom hey I have the same laptop except my problem is that some of the 10 screws on the heat sink holding the gpu and cpu are worn down and so tightly screwed I can't open them
@@seanraj4995 If you cant get the edges with small pliers then you might have to drill them out and use a screw extractor.
@@Sellbrokedotcom yes but if I use a screw extractor I will not be able to fasten the brackets back anymore
@@Sellbrokedotcom So I guess I can assume that it may be easier to remove mobo just to do a simple repaste because of bad screw implementation on heatsinks during manufacturing? That's probably why I can't find any vids about repasting this model to deal with its poor cooling. I'm a noob btw. Thanks
You are a legend in these parts!
Ah, nice to see that oh so rare item, the ESD wrist strap !
Where is the CMOS battery on this laptop, I have the same and I need to change the CMOS battery....thus why I ask?
Great video, I managed to repair my water damaged omen thanks to you!
we have the same questions sir.. where and how can we replace the CMOS battery ibn this laptop?
Great vid, thanks!
where can i get that exact same gpu heatsink fan?
great video i have to change my keyboard when it comes in same HP too thanks
You fix keyborad? I have the plastic is heat-bonded to the meteal. On hot. That not cant fixed.. idk what ..shit.
Stupid screws on the heat sink connecting to the left fan won't screw out because they all seem to be worn out
Having the same problem I’m pissed
Same problem exactly! :(
Does anyone know how to reset the BIOS on this laptop? Looks like there isn't a CMOS battery and my got messed up with an update.
Thank you so much. I followed your instructions to remove the cover to reset my device and it is now powered back on. You're awesome.😍
Nice, glad to help!
Hey, can you tell me how you reset yours from taking the bottom off? Is there something I need to press or remove and put back on?
@@alexandramobley6964 I'm not sure what you mean. I removed my cover, drained my battery and then powered it back up. Is that helpful?
@@Jonnique2024 sorry, yes. I am not tech savvy at all. Basically my HP Omen is not loading past the HP logo. Just constantly loads. I've pressed F2 to do diagnostics and everything passes. I tried to get it into F11 to reset and it didn't ever go to anything to let me choose reset. So now I'm trying to remove the battery. I was just making sure I didn't need to remove or do anything else once the back was open.
Hello, quite a bit late to the game but my question is, can you use the computer without the screen? The rest of the computer works we think but the laptop was dropped screen first. So the screen is glitched out.
Hey I need help. This is my exact model of laptop. I need to replace I think the GPU fan but for the life of me I can’t find that exact fan with the heat sink built into the fan housing. Do you know if they changed the design of it or could I get away with using the ones without the heat sink?
What did you use as a straight edge to release the back? I’m damaging the back trying to pry it open.
use a guitar pick
Recently my omen has been having screen flickering issues when touching the lid, from what I can gather, there potentially could be a loose cable. When you disassembled the screen, I went back through the video to see the cord that was connecting the screen to the motherboard. If there was to be a loose cable causing the screen flickering, would that cable connecting screen to motherboard be the cable I want to check?
and Awesome video, this information is very useful!
I would say you should check both ends.... the motherboard end is above left of my index finger at 5:46, for the screen side you should be able to pop off the screen bezel to get the screen screws, then you can see the back of the panel. The most likely cause of your trouble is a worn video cable though..... its rare they actually pop out of a connector. The motherboard side of the cable has notches that keep it in place even with the connector tab open, and on the screen side its usually held by a wide section of tape that is hard to pull off. Good luck!
I think I have an omen 19 I think and its been overheating causing it to freeze. How do I fix this
keyboard can't be removed is attached to palm.
i have one that needs a new keyboard. it appears that the keyboard is molded into the top half of the laptop. i have dealt with that before and it didnt go well. i had to break all the molded rivet like parts and then replace the new keyboard and glue it back in, but it was never right. is it different on this laptop?
my hinges seized up and the front bezel popped loose horribly i have a omen pc17t w000CTO. Hp says it too old to work on. do you have a lead on what parts I may need to try myself?
Can u make video how to repaste cpu & gpu hp omen 17?
My omen has an external battery. I can't seem to find any videos to help me replace water damaged parts for my Omen Model. (17t-w000) do you have any insights as to were I can find videos or help on disassembling my Omen? Thanks, any help is appreciated.
Can I remove the heatsink without removing the right fan? I'm trying to put new thermal paste but 2 of the screws on the right fan got stripped. I've been trying lots of methods online to remove the screws but they just won't come off
Looks like you can if its the actual fan screw..... if they go to the bracket covering the fans then probably not.
Awesome video. Is there anyway to replace the LCD for a 120hz or 144hz version?
Any Idea how to take that plate off to replace keyboard
You would have to break it off
@@Sellbrokedotcom so crazy how they made replacing the keyboard so hard. Everything else is really simple though to replace in the computer though.
@@Sellbrokedotcom thanks buddy
Hey bro, batery bios??
Hi can you tell me Where the Cmos Battery Is? I can't find it
It is most likely under the black plastic film, possibly a CR2032 button cell battery.
Have you found it? I would like to know, too.
Please me too. I need to reset bios settings cause i forgot my password :/
Could you please confirm its location? Is it possible its combined with the main battery?
@@MyDudeGuy I can confirm that it is! I've replaced the main battery and the CMOS RAM is working fine again.
Is it hard I have the same Omen and I just want to repaste it?
Looks like you just have to remove the bottom case and the fan brackets to remove the heatsink. Tighten the screws back up in the order stamped on the heatsink.
@@Sellbrokedotcom ok thanks. I really hat that Hp still didnt have updatet the Gaming Hub (former COmmand center) to have Fan control and performance profiles, i hope they update it afterwards. I still dont want to give up
Hey, the motherboard model is same for gtx 1070 ? do you know the motherboard model ?
It's different. Check your part number on memory slots. It will look something like this 940621-601
Heyy, does that model hava place for ssd m.2 because i rearrly want to upgreyd my notebok
Hi, I also was interested in this issue, and today i bought "Kingston A2000 500GB NVMe M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 3D NAND TLC (SA2000M8/500G)" It is working!
You can buy any NVMe M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 ssd.
I was very worried if this laptop would work with NVMe or it need only SATA. But my choice was correct, unfortunately there is no information on the Internet for this model.
I hope this info will be useful to someone.
6:33 please helpp..!! This is GPU or CPU ??
thats the left fan, the cpu and gpu are under the heatsink
the keyboard?
Riveted into the palmrest, non-removable.
@@Akerfuffle hi friend send me photos pls! :(
@@Akerfuffle oh friend, thank you very much, I did not know how to fix it and now you can change the keyboard thanks !!!!
@@Akerfuffle would you say its 100% oem feel afterwards? i did this before on another computer and i wasnt happy with the outcome, but i used epoxy and bent the crap out of the bracket so it was not completely flat and let to some keys being mushy.
Is it possible to use the CPU on a pc?
Ok. Where is keyboard displacement? I cant fix keyboard... the plastic is heat-bonded to the metal. This is fucked up. No more hp. Never... fuck this.
Ok,when you say desasemble computer I'm thinking about the KEYBOARD how I'm supposed to know how now ? 🥲
