I have never commented on a RUclips video before, but this one was so amazingly helpful that I feel compelled now! You made everything clear, down to the number and color of screws, with clear images of what you were doing and which parts were which. I was so nervous to clean out my laptop but I was able to do it thanks to this video. And thank goodness I did - it was FILTHY with dust. Thank you so much for producing this!

I just want to leave a nice comment on how thankful I am for this video. It really boosted my confidence to clean out the fans, get all of the dust outside of my case and I upgraded my ram. Furthermore, I changed the battery. Thankyou so much man. People like you are very appreciated.
This was a very good demonstration, thank you. I have a similar model 17" Omen laptop, 17-AN012DX. One significant difference of note is that the left fan's housing was connected to another heat conductor that rests, with thermal compound, on several items in the center of the motherboard, held down by three of the large, shallow black screws like what hold down the grill cover plates. This small difference was obvious and intuitive to figure out. I was able to remove and re-seat this component without incident. Other than that, the process was identical and my laptop no longer runs its fans at full speed just from turning it on. Cheers!
Guys i followed this tutorial the exact same as my laptop, now my laptop wont turn on, the power gives one red light once and the laptop turns off, help pleaseeee😓😓😓( i disconnected and reconnected the battery while cleaning)
@@naregartinian7987 I would first suggest you go through the process again, as maybe something isn't quite connected correctly. Remember to check every single connection is in. Thank you, this helped so much as one of my fans has failed to operate and I need to replace it. I used this video to clean them thinking that would fix my problem, but one of the fans is still failing to operate so I guess the next step is to replace it

Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I found it helpful.
Thank you, that is mine ;) I wanted to clean the ventilator and changing the battery and didn't know how to open it wiithout breaking the locks. That looks simple. :)
It shouldn't be necessary. The laptop's PMU should not be allowing power to get to any components except the power switch and maybe a couple items on the motherboard. Short-circuit protections on all circuits should still be functional, so a dropped screw, for example, should not cause a problem. Unless, of course, you forget to fish it out! :-D
Hi , i followed your tutorial and once i completed cleaning my fans, now that i try to start it , the power button blinks and there's nothing on my screen , do you by any chance know what might be the issue and how to resolve it?
Thank you very much for this helpfull video. I have a similar computer (Omen HP-17-an112nf), on which I have an issue with the CMOS for the date and time memory. I didn't find any document or video from hP (and also tutos on Youtub) explaining where we can find this CMOS battery, and I don't seen it on your video. Hey man! Thanks for the video, it's very helpful! As a bit of constructive criticism, you could use some full time video autofocus tracking for when you're showing a piece above the table closer to the camera, so we can see the detail of what you're showing! Still, the info it's there and I'll be cleaning my Omen 17 soon. QUESTION: the reason I'm cleaning the laptop it's because the fans are on all the time, from the start, not like before, and even if it doesn't make any rattling sound, the normal fan sound all the time is quite distracting when I'm trying to read or work, or only need some silence. It seems to be overheating quite a lot, do you think the processor needs some thermal paste replacement? Or will the cleaning alone do the trick? Also, where's the processor, is it easy to access? Hope you have the time to answer, thanks, all the best! Gabriel
