Good on you, brother. That is one beautiful car that’s worth every penny it takes to bring it back to life. I’m getting lots of popcorn. Because this is going to be an amazing journey to watch.
Thanks we’re enjoying it ! Teresa found some Porsche parts from a guy in Spokane today and got to see a room full of vintage Porsches so she was in heaven 😊
I'm up for watching this sadly abused car get restored with "appropriate" mods. I have great fondness for these myself and it seems this one has found the right owner so I expect it will be satisfying to see the process unfold. 😊.
@@conceptalfaYeah. I would want to see it original but as they say they intend to keep within the boundaries of what the dedicated Porsche aficionados consider acceptable and appropriate mods, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. At least the fellow seems to do good quality work.🤞
@@jozsefizsak original build would of course mean a long time project in order to get all the body jobs correct as well as get together all the missing parts, am afraid rushed custom build woun't return the money and time invested when up for sale again one nice day....although who knows... ?
@@conceptalfa There is a rather astonishing video about restoring a 356 Pre A cabriolet on YT. It was done in the UK for a Swiss client. I can't imagine what that might have cost.
I once worked in a 356 resto shop. No two are the same, all are handmade. A Class 1 metal worker is required. acquire a Pauter Motor/Gene Berg 5-speed trans/911 hubs disc brakes(Stop as well as You Go)
love following your project. I just (in a monent of stupidity) bought a completely stripped out 58 coupe just like your cab on a dolly and bare metal. I have most of the parts to put it back together but it will be a long road. I will be restomodding it with 911 rear suspension and all 911 brakes but sticking with a hopped up porsche 4 banger. Cant wait to see what you do next as you are months ahead of me due to an accident that makes me wait 6-8 weeks before starting my project. I was at Restoration the same week as you were there and all the panels are avaialble so I am not concerned. Good luck.
Now that you own a Porsche (poor-shuh) you need to pronounce The name like a true Porsche (poor-shuh) owner! Best of luck to your endeavors. You have a sweet find right there.
Poor-shuh still isn’t the correct pronunciation of the name so who cares. There is always at least one of you two syllable guys commenting in every video. I bet you still pronounce the BMW as bee em double u.
This is a 1965 356c, a T-6C Cabriolet, made by Porsche after they bought Reutter, it was originally dolphin gray/ gray seats with a blue top. This one has had the A pillars & windshield cutoff, with a “Trevor’s Ironworks rear clip”. Did it come with running gear? This will make a nice driver
@@killerkustomsso sorry you woun't keep it as original as possible, the Frankenstein build tou're planning is not worth the money you are going to invest into it, original build would be!!!
@@conceptalfaWhat part of this derelict shell of a Porsche corpse did you envision an "original restoration" ?? The amount of missing parts, versus the hopes & dreams of an inspired budget build dictate only one outcome. --> What the owners choose, and have chosen. Outlaw it is.
Good for you and Theresa. There isn't a better Christmas Gift. God Bless you for taking on this project.......Looking forward to seeing how you add your standard of welding to this project and general expertise. A good replica is 60K, when you're done, you'll have a pocket full of Gold....
Awesome find!!! I'm sure, given the talent we have in The Rust Valley, you'll knock this one out of the park. Yeah you gotta find all the parts and accoutrements that go with it, but in the end Theresa will have a gorgeous and safe ride. Oh and the colour is Very important.
Yepp, would too like to know the cost of the body, and you're probably right, its going to be an enormous cost to get ALL the missing parts together!!! And I'd definately go for an original rebuild, no problem how long it takes, as some Frankenstein build is just another waste of money!!
Unfortunately this car is going to become a real Frankestein!!! In the long run and also worthwise it's always a best deal keeping these as original as possible!!!
Actually I believe he owned two Porsches the spyder and a 356 Or at least he photographed in a couple different ones . I try not to get hung up on who owned what - 😁 Thanks for watching and sharing 👍
We know it’s actually a ‘64 356 1600 sc , we have the title - we are making it into outlaw that will be a speedster . Being that it’s just the metal shell we can create what we want .
I could never understand why someone would strip all the paint off of a classic and then park it outside for months or years. I see it over and over. SMH
The missing parts are definately going to be a problem, still possible to find all of them though, a lot of them on both TheSamba, eEbay etc, but as there's almost all missing, the cost is going to be enormous!!!
Yup totally correct 😜 I’ll have to send you the clip if Teresa filming me as we are rein-acting the scene from Taladega nights and I’m racing in my “Porsche “ Teresa is already finding that clip and going to add it to the next video release Thank bud

Wife says Your usually never wrong. Husband Turns around to the camera man. You got that on video right. Camera man 👍.
That’s funny 🤣
Please do a bunch of videos on this car, would be a cool build to follow
Looks like I’ll be following you for the next year until the car is done. I can’t wait. Good luck 👍🏼

This one is a 1965 sc it came factory ruby red , black interior . We are building it into an outlaw Porsche with some iconic Porsche builders .

Sounds like you're getting ahead of the project. Could a twin plug motor fit into a 356?
So glad you saved it from the disgrace of becoming a f**king EV!
Very cool
Lot of work on this project
That would make a sweet little EV!
Can't wait to see the work you will be doing on it. Check out Dominic Chinea he is going aluminum making a buck and all the skin panels.

Marry Christmas too your family
CLR CLEANER A LITTLE SANDING WITH 1000 GRIT THEN 1500 GRIT PAPER THEN 2000 GRIT PAPER THEN PRIMER TOO SEE BODYWORK NEEDED IF ANY ?
That was definitely the right call, this has no business being an EV.
Please build this car! I have a 35” coupe that I am saving parts for. Exited to see this!
I’m soooo jealous ❤❤❤
That car was in a movie I can't think of the name they raced up a hill in California
King of the hill ?
When you convert an air cooled car to an EV, you generally don't make any alterations to the body, so they are 100% reversable when done right.
Not the case my freind .
There's nothing like 1965 Speedster!!!
I'm wondering by the welds on the car did you buy a Title and a vin plate?
Sub standard welds , we bought the car with title and vin and proof it was one of the same 👍
Possibly put a A model front nose on it,alot of speedster specific panels are all available from 'restorarion design'.
We are working with them 👍
I have a complete 1956 engine for sale if you need one. It needs to be rebuilt. Matching case numbers.
What would that cost us and where are you at ? You can PM either one of us on fb too .
Whatever you paid for that pieced together junk was wwwaaayyy tooooo much 😂.

Would those guys really leave the naked skin cabrio outside to rust out???🧐🤔😟
The car looks a right mess …! 😂
For gawd's sake, please just build it for your wife. Let her make decisions about it. She obviously loves it waaay more than you 😅
How much did you pay ?
We got a great deal 👌
Not of my business of course but why does it need to be secret???
James Dean's Was a 550 not a Speedster, a World of Difference Twixt the Two

That is not a Speedster. It is a T6 356B Karmann Cabriolet.

there is no such thing as a 1965 speedster. 56 yes, but not65
We know , it’s a cabriolet , however we are building it into a 356 outlaw that will have speedster qualities.👍kudos for knowing your Porsche stuff 👌

Heading your way in January !
Gonna fly around Christ redeemer 😎
I could never understand why someone would strip all the paint off of a classic and then park it outside for months or years. I see it over and over. SMH
How about the rest of the parts ? The parts are not cheap for those cars and how hard are they to find .
Going to be a challenge however we have a line on quite a lot of pieces so far
The missing parts are definately going to be a problem, still possible to find all of them though, a lot of them on both TheSamba, eEbay etc, but as there's almost all missing, the cost is going to be enormous!!!
Not a speedster, it’s a B model
Actually it’s an “c” sc to be specific , we are creating a outlaw with it ,turning it into a speedster
Maybe one of the first things to do is learn how to correctly pronounce Porsche (por-sha).
Yup totally correct 😜 I’ll have to send you the clip if Teresa filming me as we are rein-acting the scene from Taladega nights and I’m racing in my “Porsche “
Teresa is already finding that clip and going to add it to the next video release

Wauw spoiled…….porsche, “it would just be a replica”…..not good enough maybe. Like the fake diamonds in your sunglasses.
