This is a good video and I’m gonna mention it in my next video. The only people hating on this video are legitimate shills . If you’re not a shill you shouldn’t be offended by this video at all. Blaze needs to do better and stop releasing products that aren’t ready.

Hey PK. Thanks for the kind words and will look forward to your video. I enjoy your content. I don’t mind people hating on me for sharing my thoughts. I get that people love Evercade but, as you say, Blaze needs to do better.

Nice one, totally agree with you! In the early days it was forgivable because if a firmware broke something you could roll it back to the last one and make do which I did a number of times. We've lost that ability so when things go wrong today it's a major issue or nightmare waiting a month or so for a fix to come along. Hope they get on top of these issues soon or people might sell up. And yeah we all want Evercade to do well, it's just a shame cheap means cheap when it comes to quality control some times...

Great video, blaze are unfortunately digging their own demise with their lack of quality control and mostly toxic community

I was an early adopter of the Evercade and without going into all the personal issues I've had with the hardware/software, I agree with the points you've raised in your video. I also agree that it can be unpopular within the community to criticise Blaze when things have clearly went wrong. Case in point is the December Update that was bricking carts left, right and centre. When I mentioned within the community that the update bricked two of my carts, the majority of responses were the usual "well it worked ok for me" which drowned out the others that were reporting that there was an actual issue, that Blaze eventually admitted to. I have over 40 Evercade carts and have decided to put a halt to collecting this year for my OG Handheld/VS Console and will not be updating any more firmware on the VS. I'm still waiting for a revised EXP to be released that addresses all the issues because there's still old stock out there with the day one issues. I do like the Super Pocket but that Donut Dodo issue is ridiculous and shouldn't have slipped passed QA testing. I'm still a big fan of Evercade but want to see a marked improvement in Blaze's QA before I spend any more hard earned cash on the platform. Great video and glad someone is speaking out constructively on the issues. Cheers

This cognitive dissonance from some within the community is really harmful in my opinion. Blaze will never make better products if they’re not called out for the stuff they do wrong. It’s a shame that we’re made to feel like the bad guys for airing these views when all we really want is a quality product that we can get behind.

I tried to explain the d-pad issue to Blaze with the Super Pocket, even uploading videos to them - they didn't even admit the problem and the complaint went around in circles so I just gave up trying. Would never consider buying more games on it as it doesn't work properly with the diagonals as you say.

I agree with everything you have said here. I have all the hardware units you have shown and 20 of their carts and am now in a very hesitant position to continue to support a company that is almost at a point of realising not fit for purchase products, carts & updates.

It’s difficult. As a fan of physical media, I want to support what Blaze is doing, but the quality issues are getting hard to overlook.

@jondixon4937 Again, I agree, and as such have bitten the bullet and am awaiting delivery of indie hero's 3 tomorrow as I know donut dodo will work on my exp all be it with slow load times but still feel let down it is unplayable on my super pocket. I am a big fan off physical media hence deciding after some time of thinking I will continue to buy into what is a great idea but blaze needs to improve rapidly atm or I will sadly have to walk away and invest elsewhere in other products that are fit for purpose for the hobby I am passionate about.

Any dead cartridges they should replace without question, would only need the actual cart not box.. or they could reload your cart if you sent it back is that so difficult

    Summary of the video:
Good for coming in the pandemics.
Bad about evercade: Just regurgitating outdated "Facebook-style" paradoxical complaints - "I want the screen and the built to be better, but I cant complain about the price tag."
    EXP good: tate mode.
EXP rant: old complain about tight carts and battery life. heating issues. dark screen.
Quality control: firmware update wiping out cart data.
Super pocket: addresses many of the issues with the EXP, albeit simpler and smaller.
Wants: want a Super pocket with the size of the OG.
    Native games: great addition
Conclusion: Hate the EXP and quality control. Blaze must address problematic firmware updates. Wants to support Blaze.

They're cheap, poorly executed by people who don't play, understand or care about video games or their own products. Both my EXP broke, zero help. Well, they didn't break they have dreadful batteries and that is due to incorrect or poorly designed drivers which they cannot fix. Thus making it unfit for purpose.
