    This is a must have for any Atari collectors or enthusiasts. Would be great for anyone just getting into retro gaming too.

      As much as I love Atari, it would mainly be a show piece. I can play all those games on Evercade and Atari 50th.

    Already pre-ordered the Wood Grain version. My first console was the 2600 Wood Grain, so I really love the look of it. Decent amount and variety of games too. Probably won't be purchasing the regular atari or technos one though.

    Woodgrain Atari looks dope... Definitely not for play though.
    On the other hand the Red and black is an all around good look for playing regular carts.
    Technos is the way to go for the value on the games themselves. It should have been Red and Black though.

    Didn't we already have Atari and Technōs games on Evercade? Like come on, Blaze, why the hell do we need more from those companies?

      Exactly, and we're getting duplicates of those games along with a few new ones.

    These super pockets are not for existing customers, only for collectors and mainly for those who missed the carts that are now legacy. Super pocket is a great way to bring back those collections, especially Technos. The only super pocket existing customers should have is the Taito one, because no cart exists for Taito.

    • @Evercade_Effect
      @Evercade_Effect  Месяц назад

      There are games on the new Super Pockets that aren't on carts. There for anyone who wants them. 😃

  • @genejoke8538

    I'm kind of glad it wasn't something like Sega or Konami as those would be worse to be trapped on a device. But a Namco Super pocket would have been cool... maybe next year.
    These aren't massively exciting as I have the carts, but they are great for new comers to Evercade. Have you seen the limited edition atari super pocket?

    • @Evercade_Effect
      @Evercade_Effect  Месяц назад +1

      That's a great way to look at it, not having a collection trapped on the cart. I think I may like the Atari Black and red color scheme better than the woodgrain.

    Funny timing this; was just organising things to purchase the Taito Super Pocket for my nephew and suddenly new Super Pockets are announced. Blaze seem a little obsessed with making new hardware as of late.
    0:58 - The red and black of the Atari model is real cool; buttons pop out particularly well. 50 games is quite a lofty amount; I assume they are almost entirely 2600 games then (a Lynx dedicated selection would be much more befitting).
    1:10 - My nephew had fun playing Double Dragon 2 and 3 with me on the Evercade. I would be tempted to get him this one if I didn't really own the Technos Arcade collection that I can always lend or gift him.
    2:37 - I do love Asteroids; likely my favourite Atari game of all. Also nice to see the Arcade versions rather than just being a selection of 2600 games.
    4:33 - Neat; 7800 games as well. A lot of 7800 games actually. Really cool seeing the difference between the Arcade and 7800 Asteroids.
    8:24 - My nephew and I had fun with Double Dragon 3, but even he recognised that something felt off and it wasn't as good as Double Dragon 2. Now a real treat would be if they could include the Zeebo exclusive Double Dragon. That would be astonishing!
    9:50 - A Sega one with an emphasis on Game Gear games would be awesome. Likewise, an SNK one with an emphasis on Neo Geo Pocket Colour games or even going more obscure with something like a Watara collection of Supervision games.

      Nice! I'm on the fence in regards to the Technos SP. I don't want to bring that cart with me on vacation or traveling since it's legacy. The arcade cart is legacy but not yet at scalpers prices. We'll just have to see.

    The Atari woodgrain funstop exclusive would make a good show piece. Import taxes and shipping would kill the deal. Super Dodge Ball and block out after both great games. I played a lot of block out on MS DOS back in the 90s. The technos collection is the better pocket to get. I recently watched the gamefreak review the Atari pocket player by myArcade and his complaints were licensing issues. Same issues apply here.

    I pre-ordered the wood grain Atari. The red and black one looks amazing too. I understand your gripe about these being older games, ones we've already seen on cartridges (most of the games, anyway) but this is definately a way for people to get these games now. Also, I have a feeling these IP holders are no longer keen on their games being on cartridges from a 3rd party, especially with the VS enabling you to play on the TV. I don't see these coming back on carts anytime soon, if ever. I think the same goes for Konami.

    • @Evercade_Effect
      @Evercade_Effect  Месяц назад

      I think I might like the black and red better than the woodgrain. They will look great on a shelf. Now that Atari owns Digital Eclipse, it's they're just going the digital route.

    Ed. You didn’t mention the Woodgrain special edition?! It looks very appealing! But yeah. I agree. Apart from a few extra new games bundled in there. This is not new stuff to get us excited enough. We need NEW heavy hitting stuff!🤔

    I caved and got the limited edition atari one as a cool show piece plus I only have 2 of the 5 Atari carts.
    I am concerned of the trend it potentially starts, its one thing to have to have licence holders put things on units they wont allow on cartridges but not renewing agreements to then issue these dedicated units after is a bit ick.

    Like you I’m disappointed that we won’t get a Konami or Sega version. I don’t know I’m leaning toward the Atari one just because of the games it has. I don’t have the Anniversary cart that you mentioned. I might get the Technos one too. Don’t know yet. Great channel, good commentary and advice. Keep up the great work and content. I subscribed.

    Great for newcomers and Evercade completionists but for your average Evercade gamer, I'm pretty sure this will be a pass. Feels like a couple of lazy releases from HyperMega Tech but it is what it is. On Blaze's report card I'd need to put "must do better" :-) Keep up the awesome work!

    The Sega Master System version of Double Dragon was my favorite port. The NES version was garbage in comparison.
    I'm sad that the Technos model is basically a collection of Double Dragon games and it's derivatives; I was hoping it would have more variety of Technos arcade games.
    And even though I grew up with Atari (I had both the 2600 and the 7800, which I hated because it wasn't a NES), I have almost no nostalgia for Atari Games. Once NES and SEGA came out we all left Atari behind in the dust, so it's easy for me to skip the Atari model.
    If I were to get a Super Pocket, I would still lean towards the Capcom model even though I don't like it's collection of games, it's still the best of the 4 options.

    • @Evercade_Effect
      @Evercade_Effect  Месяц назад

      I need to check our the Master System port of DD. I have all the Capcom games on the Evercade EXP and really like them. They discontinued it, but it's a more comfortable way to play the Capcom and Evercade games.

    • @Skycok-z8s

      @@Evercade_Effect the sega master system version is the best for sure. Is it on the 1st technos collection? On the super pocket version?

    • @Evercade_Effect
      @Evercade_Effect  4 дня назад

      I used to think that the Master System version was the best based on the graphics until I played it. The controls are horrible. For me, the NES ports of DD 1 and 2 are king. To each their own I suppose.

  • @Blas4ublasphemy

    The consoles themselves look very nice , but A: I was never that inclined to play these games, event though I probably have most if not all of them on other systems. So I will most likely pass on these. If they were new indie games and were good, it would be a different story.
