If you are here for the Maximum RAM capacity of your G6 then I'll tell you my story. I have an HP Pavilion G6-2211et. This particular laptop's maximum RAM capacity is 8gb on Windows 64bit according to the manual. I then found this program called dmidecode. It reads information from the motherboard. I'm not sure about the accuracy of these readings but it says that 16 GB is the maximum RAM capacity of my motherboard. I have an i7 3632qm processor which has the capability to support up to 32gb RAM on 64bit. So i ordered 2 8gb RAM sticks and just today I confirmed that both slots read the 8GB ram sticks i bought. Now my laptop is running with 16GB ram. So I can confirm that G6 can support 16gb RAM provided that your processor supports it and Windows version is 64bit. You're welcome.

Hi mate, my g6 from 2012/2013 is still running today (quiet loudly) it has 8GB RAM atm which I’m looking to upgrade, hopefully to 16GB, is this possible using an AMD A8-4500M (1.9 GHz) processor? Also, my current battery life from 100 to 0% is under an hour lol, so i’m thinking of replacing the battery and cleaning the cooling fan with condensed air to improve performance? Hopefully I get a response from commenting on this vid 8 years later haha, cheers!

the bolt dont need to come out, only unscrew it a lot and take the housing

To be perfectly honest, I don't use one. You can just take it out with your bare hands. The CPU and heat sink is what you need to have a strap for.
