An amazing steel guitar player! I know Dottie was in such pain as she came to the end of her life, but she exemplified the Christian trust in the Lord. God bless her God bless her spirit. Dottie you've made our lives so much richer!

When I'm low in spirit I cry Lord lift me up I want to go higher with Thee But nothing grows high on a mountain so He picked out a valley for me And He leads me beside still waters somewhere in the valley below And He draws me aside to be tested and tried in the valley He restoreth my soul It's dark as a dungeon and the sun seldom shines And I question Lord why must this be Then He tells me there's strenght in my sorrow and there's victory in trials for me Then He leads me beside still waters Down in the valley He restoreth my soul
I first seen Dottie on Bill Gaiher homecoming DVD but was not aware who she really was until I heard her sing. Since then I hold her dear in my heart for this song. She also has other similar songs. Glory to God
Thank you Heavenly Father for making this beautiful soothing song available to me may you bless the person who put it together to serve as a blessing to me and all who hears May God be glorified
This wonderful woman didn't only sing her life in her songs, but revealed the Hand Of God, Who carried her from her beginnings by that river, through her life, and then the portals of heaven to her new home. By no means did God let go of her hand through it all. She was an inspiration, she was a blessing!
Let's be careful...God can do more for a soul in mere minutes than we can preach for a year. No on church is assured salvation - church names do not matter. What matters is having our hearts covered by the Blood of Jesus. Do I believe in standards and doctrine? Sure. But I also know that Jesus is ever merciful and is not willing that any should perish.
I 1st. heard a Fijian Christian Choir singing this ! Beautifully bewitching. It's on C.D. and it might be a Methodist choir, but I'm not sure and don't recall the name of the choir or lead singer.
Convolutedexperiment, my husband's ship was harbored for a time in Suva, Fiji during WWII and he spoke of the voices and harmony of the Fijians singing as they loaded and unloaded the ships.

Hello Judy how are you doing today
😍😢😭
wow.
I remember when she and her family was very strong with the United Pentecostal Church
if she would have stayed there she probably would have been saved
so sad
But she died lost because she couldnt keep gods commandments, and she fell short of glory, and it is sad. Very

+Bre Lilly It is NOT your position to judge whether she goes to heaven or not. Only God knew her heart not man.
REAL Christian music.
I was not familiar with Dottie. What an amazing singer and song writer.
Sorry you missed a lot
Dottie went home to be with Jesus on Mother's Day 2008. The tour bus she was riding on went off the rode and she died as a result of her injuries.
