This is a very informative video however Mercedes introduced this AUX battery which is not very much fine but at least keep that battery in an easy accessible spot with a simply cover in the trunk for example or just on the side of the centre console with an easy open door as this battery goes faulty for loads of reasons!
Hi, an auxiliary battery isn't necessary to start a vehicle or operate its basic systems when driving. Rather, they are used for secondary functions such as powering audio systems or bringing up pre-installed screens within the dashboard control panel.
I dont think this aux batt is related to your crank start, check your main batt jump it make sure u got juice on main batt. Edit: check main battery to see if it is charged.
Stop start will not work. I forgot to turn it off twice when I was on road trip. the stop start was not working at a red light, and the car died. Worse, one time I was on a slope, so it start sliding and glad I hit the brake quickly
So far no issues ... everything is workin. It is Most definitely better than the old battery, the 2ah difference is ok, im not cracking anything to start the car with this battery. It is less than 30 bucks battery bud!

I have the same issue with mine. I read on a forum that it’ll fix the issue by replacing the battery. I haven’t tried it yet
Yes I believe the auto stop/start feature is tied directly into this aux battery.

It's important to have the vent hooked up on this battery. That's why you need to use a factory Mercedes auxiliary battery.
I was also told by the mechanic that the vent is a very important part and needs to be connected. Also the foam he added is a fire hazard 😮

Hi Rolando, If your new batt does not require it u should be ok, the one i installed didn't have it

Some batts doesn't require safety vents, some do... self contained maybe safe sealed.

No, I did not reset anything at the time of the maintenance because no notification on the dash.

The main batt I think it is under the hood covered with a plastic close to the windshield.
@@car-lo thanks, they will have to drill for the firewall when I add my amp and subwoofer then.
No pls don't drill, there are factory grommets on the firewall that u can utilise for snaking wires back to cabin.
I think there's also a factory amp somewhere in there u can tap for cleaner install.

From amazon i think any motorcycle 12v battery will work. As long as u have the same size.

Always use original equipment for long service. These after market batteries fail often. 1-2 years of service does not make it good.
