+Bill Komar well, our policy states that the responder must be structure certified, pass a dept evoc, and have a $50,000 supplemental liability insurance policy. Driver Operators, and EMS certified also qualify. Currently I have 5 members including myself out of a roster of 14 that run code. Also, lighting must meet or exceed the requirements as it is stated in theTexas Traffic Code
I'm sure you've been asked this before.. but what's the sirens called that sounds like the chopping siren? when you go to get the vehicles out of the way and go up to a light?
Yes... eventually. I'm still not done totally, and I have a few tweaks to do on what I have completed already. I'll try to get something out soon for y'all.
+Kostas Sterling off the top of my head, the smart siren is about $500, and the tumblers are around $450. Plus I would need to get a new lightbar, since the smart siren would replace my existing controller and that is proprietary to the bar. This is Texas.
I can't figure that out. I use Windows Live Movie Maker. I even tried changing the bit rates while saving and that still didn't help. I am going to be looking for different editing software to see if that fixes it. Until then, I'm sorry for the skip.
+Dustin Amy thats awesome, I am in training at my volunteer department in Illinois. I already have to deal with people who dont give courtesy to volunteers. unfortunately we dont get sirens. can I ask what state you are in?
Personally I would refrain from using that video game laser sounding siren. It literally sounds like something from a video game and if I heard that behind me I would question if it’s a real emergency vehicle.
Imma flip you comment for the other side of the arguement, it sounds different, which grabs attention. And even though he ran that tone while that one driver wasn't moving, looking at his videos, it looks like no one knows what a siren is...
That V8 sounds so good redlined
Herpadurr, I'm just gonna stop RIGHT... *here*.
Nice driving and video. Got a new subscriber!
you should definitely look into the rumbler sirens. When NYPD uses them you can feel it in your chest from a mile away.
Def Those Sirens Are So Good
That was such a bad case of failure to yield.
What part of south Texas? Starr County here lol
San Patricio County. The City of Gregory
+Dustin Amy oh okay, no I'm way south like next to the border lol

Actually I am the Fire Chief. my membership can be allowed to run code as well, after they meet a certain criteria.
+Dustin Amy so on any giving day how many are running code? What's the criteria ?
+Bill Komar well, our policy states that the responder must be structure certified, pass a dept evoc, and have a $50,000 supplemental liability insurance policy. Driver Operators, and EMS certified also qualify. Currently I have 5 members including myself out of a roster of 14 that run code. +Dustin Amy wow that cool it's not too Easy to be certified. Thanks for the replies chief......take care stay safe....
I'm sure you've been asked this before.. but what's the sirens called that sounds like the chopping siren? when you go to get the vehicles out of the way and go up to a light?
Phaser I think.
It's the "Thunder Tone" from the Galls ST160
Thanks Dustin!!
I only used my thunder tone to annoy my neighbors, lol
The part where the car doesn't move was shared on the feniex Facebooks by the way lol
Yes I know. Feniex Industries used it on their page.
Why the constant siren at night when no traffic?
Animals, hogs, coyotes, etc... Rural area.
+Dustin Amy ah fair enough. Check out my channel for some response vids from here in the UK :)
+JW93Emergency I have, and subscribed!
Cause its Good xD
+dustinamy are you going to show us the new setup of your POV vehicle in a video
Yes... eventually. I'm still not done totally, and I have a few tweaks to do on what I have completed already. I'll try to get something out soon for y'all.
+Dustin Amy ok thanks
please that will be great :)
Is that an ICA bucket truck out front?
Well, I'm not familiar with ICA, but it is my work truck.
+Dustin Amy hard to see but looked like an ICA logo on it. nevermind haha
You should consider installing the smart siren and using the rumblers, that will get those pesky drivers out of the way.
That would be nice. That set up alone would cost almost as much as everything I have on my rig now tho.
Dustin Amy Yea, aren't they around $350? Also, what state do you live in?
+Kostas Sterling off the top of my head, the smart siren is about $500, and the tumblers are around $450. Plus I would need to get a new lightbar, since the smart siren would replace my existing controller and that is proprietary to the bar.
This is Texas.
+Dustin Amy Damn, I never knew. Thats a lot of money for that. Not even worth it at that point.
What dash cam are you using in this video? I want one that shows my speed as well.
I know that would happen to me when im volunteer firefighter and driving my pov
Why does it frame freeze every two seconds?
what're you driving?
Joel Effler a Chevrolet Suburban
You got alot of railroad grade crossings!
Why does the video keep skipping?
I can't figure that out. I use Windows Live Movie Maker. I even tried changing the bit rates while saving and that still didn't help. I am going to be looking for different editing software to see if that fixes it. Until then, I'm sorry for the skip.
That's fine! I use iMovie for my videos but I don't know if windows will let you use it.
Are you a Volunteer or Paid?
woking on making the dept a pcs. For now, volunteer.
+Dustin Amy thats awesome, I am in training at my volunteer department in Illinois. I already have to deal with people who dont give courtesy to volunteers. unfortunately we dont get sirens. can I ask what state you are in?
I am in the great State of Texas.
Can you do a POV update
4:53 siren name?
That's the "Thunder tone" from the the Galls ST160
Thanks bro
@@dustinamy5355 ,great attention grabber ( when they pay at least a little bit of attention )
kinda ironic, tree fire. was it the same tree that destroyed your other burban? lol
hey feniex stole your video lol
really? sirens at 4:20am?? i get it u need to use when going through an intersection or when there is cars but most of this video the road is empty
The siren isn't just for other drivers, but also the wild hogs and other vehicle damaging critters that are abundant on that stretch of road.
jayson bortag some counties require siren use all the time, it's a safety and insurance issue not to.
Personally I would refrain from using that video game laser sounding siren. It literally sounds like something from a video game and if I heard that behind me I would question if it’s a real emergency vehicle.
