Ya know since adding intersection lights on the side of my truck people really yield better to my lights approaching stop signs and busy stop sign intersections. I'm only allowed lights and people have actually started to really move
Well since your light is to shine 360* it would only make sense that it would help, so many people get pissed when cross traffic does not yield, when you have a blue light on your dash it makes it hard for cross traffic to notice you.
At least the rotating lights flashed in a better pattern than the new LEDs where people feel it necessary to cover their vehicles in them and set them up with disconnected flash patterns... People, please PLEASE use a half-half instead! Or all on, all off. Better contrast, better psychologically = safer.
Deck lights are a no no. Visor lights, invest in a quality install if it’s a pov. It’s not that expensive to get decent light packages on most American trucks.
Those are dash lights lol. Deck is in the back. These lights were for a 1 year challenge between used name brand and Cheap Amazon junk. I was at the time and still am an upfitter with my own install company over the last 5 years. And I did get an interior light bar not long after this which is a federal signal ILS. And this wasn't a truck lol
There was a funny incident not too long ago where someone's truck hit a small hole in their driveway and it triggered the OnStar system that there was a crash. We got dispatched to the area automatically but no one could find the truck and the guy was just chilling on the couch with the truck in his car port. We had 4 fire vehicles, state police, and 2 local police agencies in the area looking for about 15 minutes while dispatch tried to get in touch with the owner of the truck.
It's sad that so many people concern themselves so much with warning systems for personal vehicles. Imagine how good we would all be if people places the same time, money and effort into training.
@@brandonwade1200 The point of the lights is to get the people to pull over, and the reason why they have so many is because people are more distracted with their phones.
We are trying to get legislation up here in the Canadian province of Newfoundland that allows firefighters to use a green courtesy light for over two years now. In Quebec, they are so concerned about volunteers using lights that they are even going so far as to regulate the frequency of the light flashes. (Not allowed to flash to quickly)
So with working the interstate we get calls all the time from passer bys that think they see a wreck bc 2 cars pulled over for something so it comes out as a possible as the caller wasnt sure so neither is dispatch
For the 100000 time. State law. Lights on sirens on. No code 2. But if there is no car should I just shut the lights off and do over the posted speed limit? No. Auditable and visible at all times helps you not loose a lawsuit
@@lostmoviemusic1289 just bc they do doesn't make it smart. Drive ways at side streets are all intersection. Plus the possibilities of a pedestrian just stepping out into the road. State law. Lights on sirens on when responding

Love the Touchmaster tones on that Smart Siren.

I just got back from a 3 week trip in ky and watched my uncle Brad run a few calls with a Carson mech siren
Close call there turning to the fire house
I personally liked the rotating red light better than all the l.e.d lights
I really like the rotators but I just don't find it really well fit for my pov.

Ask dispatch

Seriously though light patterns today are so bad... Use a half-half or all on all off, better visibility.

Why have a siren on if there's no traffic on the road? Seems pointless
