    another tip:
    I often set 4 or 8 bars as negative time "pre beats before zero" in Cubase. This is very practical. I don't think any other DAW has this great feature.
    You can also store ideas and sketches in this "minus area"...

    You can also use the precount metronome options for this, but anyway interesting to see another way!

      Yes a great way that I should have mentioned 😁.

    You can setup the number of bars that you want to count in the metronome setting and don`t set the metronome on so when you click recording it only will play the first one of two bars that you setup. Thank you for your videos because always I learn somenthing new.

      That’s sounds like an even better way 😎

    Thanks for this. There is also a count-in function option in the metronome section which counts-in from anywhere when you start recording which is helpful when you’re punching in 😉

      Yes good one. Should have mentioned that as an option as well.

    Can’t you just use pre-roll for the click, and it will stop once the music starts. Or am I missing something?

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes I think that’s probably even a better idea if you don’t need audio for the click 👍.

    Interesting when we use punch in/out markers in different locations than loop markers to record (but why use metronome in this case?), but otherwise the precount metronome option seems easier.

      Yes that’s a great, probably better way that I should have mentioned 😉.

    after watching your video I think I´ve found my preferred method: add that first measure to a drum instrument track in my template, so easy why didn´t I do it before?

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  2 месяца назад

      Yes that's a very good way that I also talk about in the video. Assumes you have a drum instrument in your project though and you have to make sure that any reverb or delay on the drum instrument when playing the count-in does not spill into the project of course.

    When you insert silence, does it move markers and tempo/signature changes appropriately? Never used that function

  • @ErixSamson

    But why not simply using the Cubase built-in count-in feature???

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  2 месяца назад

      Yes that’s probably the best option if you don’t need the count-in as audio in your project or want to play before beat 1. 👍

      Yes if you have a nice combination of commands, just turn it into a macro. Maybe a nice video topic 😉.
