- Fractional gold use to be looked down upon cause of premiums but with gold still near its all time high will it become more accepted?

Any gold is better than NO gold.
1 oz Buffalos, 1/4 oz AGEs, sprinkle in a occasional .9675 coin…
Kinda like a double eagle?! 😉
@@StatesideStash@ 3% over melt shipped I couldn’t say no..
Good plan.
1/10th have been my go to
Can’t go wrong!
You should talk the US mint into minting fractional gold buffalos again!
I’ll get right on that 🤣
They would sell big time.
Yessss
@@michaelphillips3123 They would sell them between $250- $300 a piece
If they did that, I'd buy the hell out of them.
Im a silver stacker from England thats hard enough with the 20% tax we pay on silver as for gold theirs no tax on that here but i cant afford to buy a ounce of gold so fractional 10th ounce gold is my only option im lucky enough now to own 2 American 10th ounce gold eagles my favorite coin as the old saying goes its better to have some than none great video sir and happy stacking from English Dave 😆
Thanks Dave! Like you were saying the best gold is the gold you can afford! Thanks for watching and commenting
That's funny. This American loves the Britannia. It's the most beautiful and secure coin in existence.
Edit - Pre 2024 only tho for me. I can't stand looking at Charles. Lol.
Love me some fractional gold. 1/4 oz are a sweet spot for me.
It’s perfect. Doesn’t break the bank and has enough weight behind it to feel like a real gold coin
I get what I can afford . For now ! .
Best gold is the gold you can afford
Most people simply can't afford a $2000 purchase every week, or even every month.
It is better to buy consistently in amounts you can afford, than to spend months waiting to make one big purchase that you might have to sell back at any unfortunate moment anyway.
This is what I preach
Best way to buy gold is using 0% intrest credit card promotions or the 24 equal monthly payments when offered on ebay.
SilverDadKnows here. You post and I listen in. 🎉
I appreciate you brother! Thank you for always tuning in!
I love gold coins in all sizes. I have a 1/25th oz Philharmonic, that’s a bit too small, but it was a good deal. I have several 1/10 & 1/4 coins and also one 1/2 oz Kangaroo that I picked up for close to spot.
Yesterday my lcs was out of 90% and silver eagles. I thought about your fractional video and bam, picked up 1/10 eagle and1/10 maple for only 7.6% over spot $250 ea. Good video
Great pick up Peter! Congrats!
Another good thing about fractional gold is that even though the premiums are higher, gold goes up and down in larger increments than silver so you can quickly make back your your premiums but you can also loose them so as always……buy the dip
Smart video brother 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Well said Jason! Great point
The real question is how much gold will a border guard want? 🤔
One BILLION dollars
I heard it was 2 oz of gold for people escaping Vietnam
@SilverLife-oi4ng well that certainly changes my math. 😰
You missed all the 20 or 10 Francs even the British sovereign is a favorite of mine. They can also be a good fractional option
I didn’t wanna overwhelm people. Sovereign gold is an excellent choice but I tried to stick with the most common sizes
Some gold bought now is better than more gold bought later.
Well said
Picked up a 1/4 for 650 and a French 20 franc for 475 today. Seems steep to me but I’m also not use to getting fractional. Did I do good?
The one forth is good, I don’t own any francs so I can’t tell you if it’s a good price
I buy fractional gold on auctions and pay at or near melt. I just won on auction a 2005 ngc graded lunar china 1/2 ounce gold. with the shipping and buyers fee's I payed $1,167.00. I have said for years that if you do not do auctions you are missing out!!! jim
I do this is as well. Not as often as I’d like cause I can be inpatient and not wanna wait so long
I've been looking at fractional gold in the 1/10 oz to get started stacking. Great video man!
Thank you Calvin. 1/10 is a great starting point!
Pre 33. It's already been made.
I sure do enjoy your videos I am a subscriber to your Channel😊 and I sure do enjoy the heads up
Thank you for watching Erwin!
Just an opinion...Pre-33 combines fractional AND numismatic quite nicely! Dontchaknow! Ha
I won’t argue that!
I plan on getting into fractional gold soon. Thank you for the great info as always
Thanks Vegas! I’m waiting on a video to see what you get!
Aren't half ounces Buffalos a big deal? Mintage/collection wise
Huge deal cause they only made 1/10 1/4 and 1/2 only one year
All types of fracs are great and financially sound from goldbacks to 1gram to 1/2oz it all serves its unique purposes.
I agree they all serve a purpose, just not sold on goldbacks
Truth. My go to gold is the quarter ounce weight, whether it’s from any country as long as it’s a good price preferably under 10% premium.
Do you have a favorite?
Gold is still stupid cheap. All these ppl who whine about premiums on 10th and 4th oz, I say, buy whst you can afford and feel good about it. Better than having to sell cuz you're overextended. Gold will keep rising, and those premiums will disappear in the higher prices.
Exactly what I was saying about the premiums
Do you invest in stocks ? Or do you just do PM mainly. I’m having a hard time figuring out which to do as if I do both 50/50 it will be a much slower process.
I do it all. Contribute to a Roth IRA, day trade with stocks, with my extra money I make or earn goes to gold and silver
Silver covers that area that fractional gold tries to cover, and when you factor in the premiums on fractional gold, silver is better imo.
Silver has more buyers. And in recent studies, they have been showing that you would have to convert your gold into silver, in order to buy most smaller things. You can't really buy a loaf of bread with gold.
It would be too hard to measure that small amount of gold, and then it would be hard to keep track of for the person holding it.
I will agree silver is better for small expenses that need to be covered. This is more for the people who ONLY like gold
I'd sell a loaf of bread for gold if I'm the only baker left in town haha
In 1997 was buying one tenth ounce gold coins around $35. Per coin.
Wanna go 50/50 on a Time Machine with me
Good content full of what I consider just common sense. A OZ each QT or a 1/4 each month$$ Which is more$
Thank you as always brotha!
Spot on. One ounce of gold costs less than ten 1/10th ounces of gold but I’d rather have ten 1/10th ounces than zero ounces. I’ve stacked forty-two 1/10 ounce coins so far, mostly American Gold Eagles but I have 12 from the Perth Mint and a couple of Britannias and couple of Maples. I did a 1/4 oz challenge and managed to add 23 to the stack, 11 of those pre-33 Half Eagles. (Yeah, I know they aren’t exactly 1/4 oz. Don’t care). I have a dozen “1/2” ounce most of those being pre-33. Three Buffalos, couple of St. Gaudens, couple of Liberty Head Double Eagles, four 1 oz AGEs, and a 1 oz Britannia round out the stack. The point of this is not to brag, it’s to say when I’m looking at my stack, never once have I said, “If I had saved my money I could have bought one one-ounce coin instead of these eight 1/10th oz coins.”
You have an amazing variety! I love it! Congrats.
Impressive!
Good info on fractional premium when selling.
Thanks brother!
Hey stash, great video brother. I like to try & wait until i can swing either the 1/4 or even a 1/2 whenever i can, but hey, gold is gold & so ilver is silver, so lets keep stacking with everything we can swing my friends,!! 👍
Keep on stacking brother!
Good subject, thanks for sharing your opinion. 👍
Anytime rich! Thanks for watching
Big like number 21! Excellent video and thank you so much for sharing!
Any time my man!
Thoughts on buying gram bars?
I would avoid at their premiums are just too high. Smallest I’d go is 1/20 gold coins but highly recommend sticking to 1/10
Very good info and video keep it up
Will do brother! Thanks for watching
Yes but what you can afford it cost more now but in the long run it will most definitely be worth more or save over time and purchase larger piece with less premium but do what works for you the turtle always wins in the long run I started stacking 1/10 gold when they were $39 each now $ 250 to $300 depending on what day it all works out in the end my opinion people don’t troll me with hate
No need to troll, time will have everything go up
Very wise.
If you have no gold than buying fractionals is a good idea.
Any amount of gold is better than no gold
1/4 ounce is the sweet spot!
100% agreed!
💪
With the price of a gold today. I mainly buy 1/4 oz
That’s a great way to go
Great content bro ❤
Thanks for watching brotha!
Excellent subject.
I like fractional gold.
One gram, 5 gram, 20 gram, pre-33, .10-.25-.50 oz eagles, and ounces.
The more the merrier!
I have a weakness for pre33 gold
Specially if trying to exchange it for something. You didn’t want to be like oh here’s 1oz when 1/10oz will do.
@@zerokool-2058 ... Whoa! That's what I've been telling myself for many years.

Dude, my first gold purchase was a 1/4 ounce gold eagle too. Sweet! Good vid man
Thanks Josh! I was hooked when I bought that eagle. No looking back
I want another one so bad! I really honestly only have the one. Bought for my wife for our anniversary. She wasn’t too thrilled at the time lol
@@Jmoney1981 haha she will thank you later

Appreciate you Trent!
Sell your gold?
Not in my future plans
When you are on a small income then fractional gold, or silver, is the only avenue open to you! @ PENSIONER PREPPER
Nothing wrong with this
Question for everyone: If you could only afford 1/10 ounce of gold each month, would you purchase 1/10 ounce each month and pay the higher premiums for fractional gold or wait 10 months and purchase 1 ounce of gold without the premiums?...or...maybe you would purchase silver instead?
IF you are strapped for cash I would go the 1/10 route
I have bought 1/10 Eagles. Because gold is a long term buy and hold asset, over time the premium will be wiped out.
If I really wanted gold, I'd just buy the 1/10th.
If you want to spend that amount of money for the lowest premiums, try to find a deal on silver.
I wouldn't want to wait 10 months with a set amount of money.
By the time you get the money saved up, you might not have enough to buy the ounce as it could have went up significantly.
Go for a quarter or half.
I only have one piece of gold and it's fractional gold. But I will be buying more this month. God willing.
Slow and steady brother!
@@StatesideStash Sister! 😉
@@Yourtimeisnow-GG slow and steady sista!
You can buy nice pre-1933 American or foreign gold coins with a low premium.
Love picking up US pre33 gold
Hello, I can only afford one AGE 1/10 oz at a time, eventually they add up. Waiting to get number 40 this month.
You’re killing it! Nice job!
As the price goes up, will the 1/2 be the new Oz.
I honestly don’t think it will. Still think people will stick to 4 1/4th gold coins
I buy 1/2 Oz's as if that will happen. I honestly buy them because I make an awkward amount of money where I can afford an oz and a half a year, so I end up getting the awkward half oz. :) I love them personally.
@@HushedDeath I like the 1/2 oz as well I figure I would rather two half then one oz. I always tell the local coin store ill take both half for the price of the one oz. they have yet to let me. making me think gold is gold. uncommon doesn't mean worth less.
It is for me now.
Me too.
To me it doesnt matter the size of gold i buy or if i have to pay a little premium. Because in 20+ years its going to be worth a lot more than what i paid plus the premium. Gold is always a good buy because its Real money. Metals are not for getting rich quick, they are to protect yourself throughout your lifetime. Plus if gold ever did get to say 10k an oz nobody is gonna be able to afford a full oz, they will buy fractional.
Maybe and maybe not, time will tell. 50 years ago no one thought people would be buying full ounces at $2,500
right on nailed it but what bout slabbed ones or not
Only slabbed I’ll do is pre33 gold
@@StatesideStash thats what i want a 2.50
@@MegaDog555 that’s a great size
Fractional gold is useful. Just don't buy it in large amounts.
Large amounts you might as well just get one ounce gold coin
I'm not racist. Gold is gold and silver is silver. 1/10th or 1 ounce, doesnt matter. Gold and silver are real money. I am dumping my toxic fiat dead dollar in exchange for God's money.
May God have mercy on Humanity when the bond market implodes. Many will DIE.
Well aren’t you just a bundle of joy filled with positivity 🤣
@@StatesideStash LOL!
@@hoofgripweightlifting6872 like damn bro, out here dropping Armageddon talk
@@StatesideStash HEHEHE. The empire is collapsing bro. We have to prepare.
@@hoofgripweightlifting6872 average life span of an empire is 250 years, we still got a little bit of time
When gold hits $3,000/oz the 1oz gold coin is going to be the least popular size because only rich folks who don't need gold will be able to afford it. Think about it... With spot at $3,000, $1650 for a 1/2oz coin will be ALOT more doable than a $3,000+ 1oz gold coin. That's where we're headed and anyone who disagrees hasn't noticed the recent bull run, which will likely resume later this year or early next year.
We gotta get to $3k first to see what happens
@@StatesideStash You won't have to wait very long.
Do to the laws in commiefornia it makes no sense to really purchase fractional gold. Any single purchase of PM under 2k is taxed.
That’s so frustrating. I’m sorry
@StatesideStash it's a pain for sure, can't buy as often as I'd like, but I have caught a few dips as a result.
@@idcwtfitis that’s all you can do brother. Keep stacking!
I just bought two 1/10 gold today. With those two I now have one ounce. I have 1 ounce gold, but I only buy that when the price is down. I buy fractional when gold is high.
You buying eagles or what?
@@StatesideStash The ones that just came in are Britannia's. I Switch between Eagles, Brits, and Perth mint Koalas. I always buy my gold from sovereign.
@@DHaworth100 well you can never go wrong with the Perth mint that’s for sure
I only own silver right now, but once I get a couple things paid off, I'm going to start adding fractional gold to supplement my 401(k) and act as a hedge against a downturn in the stock market.
Well done Dan. Don’t rush into anything, do research on what you wanna buy
At the very least they could cut the premiums down significantly buying them in the tubes 20 at a time
True but at that point I’d rather buy 2 one ounces of gold
Appreciate the insight! Going after a 1/10 next purchase.
Let me know what you get!
1/4s are all I’m getting right now
Perfect? American gold eagles or what?
The only fractional gold I don’t buy is 1/10 oz
Very liquid size!
Nice informative

I’ll do a full stack at 5k subs
I'm a new sub! Keep up the good work.
Peter welcome to the family! Hope to hear more from you in future videos
Thanks, it's what we talked about!
Yes sir!
Is there a reason why 1/2oz is unpopular?
Cause most would rather save for a full ounce or just buy quarter ounces. 1/2 is that weird in between
@@StatesideStash I think here in Australia it’s not like that. I’ve asked several ppl if 1/2oz is any worse or not as desirable as other sizes. And the answer in all cases was “Gold is Gold”, no matter what size. Also if you buy 1/2oz as opposed to say 1/10, premium is smaller. So I say bring it on. Today I actually bought 1/2oz Lunar year of the rabbit from Perth Mint, and picked up 1/10th as well in koala series. Love your videos bud. Happy stacking
Why not just keep an emergency fund in a 5% interest savings account for unexpected expenses? Beats the transaction costs and extra fuss when the unexpected happens
No one is saying you can’t do that. Most just prefer to have an off grid savings account they can physically hold
@@StatesideStash agreed, but why not both? Lots easier to just write a check when the washing machine craps out or whatever. Psychologically some need the pain selling for the discipline of saving I suppose
