While I follow your recommendations closely and have discovered some greats through you (Adorem!) what I appreciate most is how you’ve taught me to smell perfume. Smelling a tobacco perfume today, I had pop into my head the phrase “cedar-y tobacco” and that’s all thanks to observing your talent for spotting how materials elide and echo each other. Thanks for the ongoing lessons by example.
Seeing you praise Shalimar always raises my mood. I enjoy every review of it, it always makes me smile. Shalimar is not only a thing of beauty. It's like an entity.
Thank you for including two of my important scents on the list. While writing my PhD, I was generously spraying myself with The Legacy of Petra - I think that myrrh is responsible for a certain academic feeling that I needed at the time. I defended my PhD this year :) and for the defense I wore another important scent for me, Shalimar. I always wear its various versions, including flankers, for important life events. And so it was this time :) It's nice that you appreciate them too. Greetings from Poland :)
Thank you , love to listen to your Videos. In early autumn i like to wear Misouko, Cinnabar and my vintage Version of Samsara. In later darker, colder times my favourite Perfume ever Shalimar, sometimes Youth dew or "Avignon ". Now i want to try Serge Lutens you have mentioned because of the jasmine. On my wishlist is " "Death and decay" von Lush, a deep flowerbomb 😊🍂💜
for this autumn I have prepared from Ormonde Jayne -Woman, Tsarina intensivo and Champaca Isabey Lys Noir, Safanad PdM, ELDO Like this....Prada Cargo de nuit, Bvlgari la Gemme Zahira, Tardes Carner Barcelona, Les Indemodables Rose de Jamal and Iris perle, Chanel 31 rue cambon F.M. Angeliques sous La pluie.en passant...etc I enjoy your videos Thank YOU ❤ appreciate originality and enthusiasm imaginative and sensual approach to fragrances. science would be boring without art and imagination Greetings from Zagreb Croatia
It seems that we have similar taste (half of your list I love and the other half I haven’t smelled) what are you planning to wear in Winter? just curious
@@raq79 some of beautiful In winter time: Masque Milano Lost Alice, Dusita Melodie De L Amour, Guerlain Angelique noir Amouage Reflection Woman, Gucci Memoire d Une odeur, Byredo Blanche, Prada iris , Durga…. Yours?
You mentioned two fragrances I love- Tauer La Maric Pour Elle, which immediately blew my mind and still takes me to a beautiful place, and Eris Night Flower. Both are magical ❤
Thank you for the list. Night flower is sooo beautiful, I love it. One of my autumn fav is Immortelle Corse from PdE with its yellow ingredients immortelle, apricot and saffron
Great list as always. We are in an "indeterminate" sort of spring here in Melbourne, by that I mean all 4 seasons are happening. When it was autumn, I was wearing ambers, vanillas and woody fragrances. Oddly enough, I still find myself craving some of that comfort! Many on that list I will be sure to seek out.
Patchouli is my go to note to ease me into autumn, and the Patch 24 is a great scent to start the wood burning season. So for me, it’s more of an early October scent. In proper winter I need more cozy comfort and incense and vanilla.
Lutens time! Wearing Santal Majuscule, Chêne, Bois de Violette, Vetiver Oriental, and Ambre Sultan when it gets even colder. L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme EdP, Dior Homme Parfum, CdG Blackpepper, aaaand Linari Notte Bianca
@@Persolaise It really is special. I find I love it more and more with each wearing. Let's hope it stays in the Collection Noire. It has to be one of the top sellers for Lutens, I reckon
I love Marzi by Thursday and it is my favourite almond fragrance , other Autumn fragrance favourites include my beloved L,heure bleue. Have Ormande Jayne Evenia and it’s a very lovely oak moss with super eso . Also wearing shalimar and Bal a Versailles too and Habanita
I love 19 :) but I think of myself as a warm person. At this time of the year I love to wear Starlight and Magenta Tanzanite. (For the odd hot day I am wearing Tilia).
Recently Ormonde Jayne have been doing lots more store exclusives , then after a year or so when the contract runs out they release them as if they were ‘new releases’ (like the Bukhara a few weeks a go which was a Fenwick’s exclusive for the past year) which I think is why their output looks like it’s increased. I’m off OJ at the moment after their usual really bad customer service - ordered some limited editions on their website, 3 weeks later nothing had arrived, chased & was told they were experiencing delays due to ‘high demand’ , 3 weeks later still nothing so chased again & was told that they had sold out, they were now discontinued & if i liked they could refund my money. Not very good ! 😡
Was Tiesenddu by Frassai, for the person that maybe wasn't clear on live chat, really want to try that!! Blondine from the brand is a beauty too 😍🥰👍🙌 xx.... Oops I should have waited, they clarified, sorry 🤭
Autumnal scent I’m dying to wear?? Oooh that’ll have to be Anubis by Papillon. I’ve had a an urge to wear it over the last few days as the nights have drawn in.
Two uncelebrated and admittedly not easy to find perfumes from the Le Vestiaire line of YSL are Caftan (my thus far favorite incense perfume) and Magnificent Gold. I look forward to wearing these two when the weather starts to cool off here - so probably around November.
Dior Jasmine des Anges is my Autumn scent this year! Other favourites include Chanel coromandel. Would love your thoughts on Hermes Ambre des Merveilles? I fear its been/being discontinued
my new scent for autumn this year is dior homme original. loving it so far after only half a day of wear! (not that I expected to have any other reaction to a fragrance whose reputation precedes it, to put it mildly)
Talking Lush, what do you think of the Goddess perfume? Got the bath bomb and seemed a nice combo of sandalwoood and other soft wood and jasmine with some nice twist. But it was a bath product so I guess the perfume needs a sniff. Have you ever tried it?
I recently learned that Delphine worked on the OG Art and Material collection. However she wasn't a contracted Guerlain perfumer so her name is not on them... if you love guerlain over the last decade then you love her work but don't know it
I was born in the last year of GenX and the inclusiveness you speak of was indeed a keystone of my cohort growing up… there wasn’t anything to fear really and well, the 90s were pretty great 😂
Fascinating! How you feel about Ormonde Manis how I feel about Ormonde Woman 😂 (also Evernia is interesting; an oak moss scent without any oak moss! Of course, we’ve seen so many of those by now, but at a certain point it was really fascinating)
I’m genuinely happy to hear the new Fern is good! I’ve not been impressed so far, but I’m genuinely rooting for them (cool concept that I’d hope they actually put into practice) 👍🏻
Get better soon, Rachel. Ironically, I'd say we probably have less to fear now than we did then, but that's not the narrative that's being pushed on us. Don't get me started.
this year giving niche a break..late summer Coromandel..early autumn Joop! le bain, Tardes...in October Tonka Imperiale, Ani.. November Isra & Miraj, Rem.Patchouli..
Just found your channel and hoping to learn and discover a lot. After Van Cleef & Arpels discontinued their Feerie fragrance I’ve been a bit lost, and having searched for something else I love as much, I’ve become a bit disenfranchised. I’d love recommendations for something similar with violets and florals (I appreciate this is very boring and unadventurous).
Thanks for watching - I hope you enjoy the channel. I’m sure someone reading this will come up with some ideas. You could also check out the reviews on Persolaise.com.

It's very, very solid. I wish their work was more easily available in the UK.
Fils de joie is addictive - backup worthy before it ends up in the bell bottles 😂
