Thanks for this entertaining video! Up until a few years ago, I didn't like tuberose perfumes. Now I have a few favorites. I generally like my tuberoses to be quite naturalistic smelling and preferably green and fresh. Among my favorites: FM Carnal Flower, L'artisan Parfumeur Nuit de Tubéreuse, Tubéreuse Absolue Perris Monte Carlo, Violet Compliment. Guerlain's Joyeuse Tubéreuse is a nice innocent fresh flower shop tuberose. I can't stand Fracas. It is really too much for me. Tubéreuse Criminelle is interesting but I can't wear it. It is being discontinued!
So glad the Lutens tuberose got some well deserved love Mr P but equally amazed (it ghasted my flab to be fair) that no Hiram Green MoonBloom appeared! Also not a fan of tuberose with gardenia, I like my gardenias with jasmine. I do admire Carnal flower because it avoids the graveyard aspect of tuberose which bothers me so much.
I have feel both attracted and repelled by tuberose. It is a scent that defies social boundaries yet maintains a female association, a combination that makes people uncomfortable. My favorite on your list is vintage Poison extrait de parfum because that is such a Gothic ambery take on tuberose. I love to sniff Fracas, Carnal Flower, and Tuberose Criminal, but if I try to wear them it somehow doesn't suit me. Hello from India! I just love tuberose as a note, it's creamy, dreamy and very reminiscent of my childhood where tuberose sticks would be brought into the house to put in vases etc. Loved your video on this and excited to explore your channel further. I have a suggestion for you: if and when you come to India next, there's a store called Forest Essentials, which does a sugar soap called "Bengal Tuberose", and personally, it's the closest fragrance to those natural, radiant tuberose sticks that I've ever smelt (so far), and I am from Bengal. Still mourning Kilian discontinuing Beyond Love: Prohibited 💔 It’s such a soft, warm, comfortable, natural tuberose. I have a tiny travel set left that I’m hoarding.
My first tuberose was the original Michael kors before I discovered carnal flower . I did however own and over wear Poison back in the day before this but I didn’t register it as a tuberose back then . I also had the Madonna one too . I much prefer Carnation scents personally.
Fracas is lovely but always gives me a headache unfortunately 😢. Louboutin’s Loubimar was an unexpected like for me. It is linear but it certainly gets complimented 💕
Gucci Bloom Ambrosia stands out from the rest of my collection. I almost have to be 'ready' for it and I couldn't figure out why. Then I realised that it's because it doesn't TRY to be something, it doesn't try to be sexy or dominant or alluring or even romantic. It just IS a bunch of flowers and nature thrown together. It's too real for the world.

What do you think of Nicolai's Number One? I seem to have a complicated relationship with it, I loved it at first, but then I wore it and found it too nauseating. Has anyone tried Ralph Lauren Woman? It’s an accessible tuberose and I’d love to hear others’ thoughts. I enjoy it and it’s an easy wear, though don’t find it especially unique or complex.
I struggle with the tuberose note (well with floral notes in general). I favor the powdery floral notes (heliotrope, Osmantus, Iris). What is a good tuberose entrance level fragrance?
@@deannstanglenny9431 Wow that is intense! You must suffer around tuberose fragrances compared tome. I only have headaches if it is a very strong fragrance.

Wonderful!
My first tuberose was the original Michael kors before I discovered carnal flower . I did however own and over wear Poison back in the day before this but I didn’t register it as a tuberose back then . I also had the Madonna one too . I much prefer Carnation scents personally.
Carnation is a great note, but hard to achieve these days.
I always manage to miss the Lives, even though I have the bell notification on.. can you tell what days you generally do lives on?
I'm so sorry about this.
I don't really have a set pattern, but a lot of them do seem to happen on Sundays at 1700 UK time.
@@Persolaise Wonderful thank you :)
Don’t suppose you’re thinking of doing a top 10 orange blossom any time soon…?🙏🏻🙏🏻
Actually, that’s pretty high on the list.
Fracas is lovely but always gives me a headache unfortunately 😢. Louboutin’s Loubimar was an unexpected like for me. It is linear but it certainly gets complimented 💕
Good to know, thank you.
Thanks for this great observation.
The original version of the edt of Passion d'Annick Goutal will, I think, always remains my favorite fragrance.
I’ve heard many good things about it.
I love this episode, I love Tuberose perfumes. I have 4 that’s on the Top 10, though not Poison. 😢 I gotta get my hands on one, and try it.
Poison is a must-try.
Thanks for watching.
I’d love to find the tuberose analog to what En Passant is for lilac blossoms.
Hmmm… a fascinating idea to ponder.
The one I know and have grown to love is Arquiste's FLOR Y CANTO. I found tuberose too heady first time I realized what I was smelling.
I should try to find my sample of it.
@@Persolaise the note description is intoxicating in and of itself:
"In Aztec Mexico, flowers were an august offering to Gods and Princes. Transporting you to a temple altar where heaps of flowers exude their intoxicating scent, FLOR Y CANTO is a white floral fragrance with a subtle copal incense base. Focusing on the highest quality natural essences and absolutes of five native Mexican flowers: Mexican tuberose, magnolia grandiflora, plumeria, marigold and wild acacia."
How do you feel about Narcotic V?
I seem to remember finding it interesting.
Three thumbs up. Love your videos. Thank you.
Very, very kind -- thank you!
I love tuberose! Love Twilly, Bloom, Fracas. I need Daphne and these new Fracas eau Fraiche in the cute pink bottle, in my life:)
I think you might love Daphne.
@@Persolaise I know, I've tried Daphne a while ago, and liked it so much!💛
Hello persolaise lys by le labo is beautiful as well i think it can be a wedding scent
Wonderful :-)
I found that Alien treated tuberose extremely well and in a sense innovative for the time, but my personal favorite tuberose perfume is Versace Blonde
Wonderful -- thanks for watching.
@@Persolaise For ages I wanted to ask you why don't you post any reviews on Villoresi perfumes? I just didn't know where would be the best to ask :) And I know there are some other houses you don't review so maybe this could be a topic for one of your lives? Thanks for all your work, I. am following you for 10+ years. Greetings from the Netherlands!
@@KsenijaCelner Hi -- there's no particular reason. I just find it very difficult to get hold of Villoresi samples.
My favorite is French Flower ❤
Good to know. Thanks for watching.
What do you think of Nicolai's Number One? I seem to have a complicated relationship with it, I loved it at first, but then I wore it and found it too nauseating. But now, after a long break, I sprayed a little on my wrist and love it again. I find it intoxicating, a I was not born in the 80s but this is how I imagine perfumes smelled back then.
I’d have to revisit it. I don’t have a sample, I’m afraid.
Gucci bloon the red bottle come to me , on me skin like makeup i absolutely loved
Wonderful. Good to know.
The only tuberose fragrance I have is Miller Harris Noix de Tubéreuse. Reminds me of holidays. Occasionally pull it out on days off in late Summer but then think it’ll be too much if it’s hot 🙄. At this rate it’ll last for years 😂 I’ve got a sample of Do Son on order
I hope you enjoy Do Son.
Thanks for watching.
My favourite Tuberose scents are Carnal Flower,Armani prive Rouge Malachite, Clive Christian Jump up and kiss me
Has anyone tried Ralph Lauren Woman? It’s an accessible tuberose and I’d love to hear others’ thoughts. I enjoy it and it’s an easy wear, though don’t find it especially unique or complex.
Sorry, I don't think I've tried that one. Sounds interesting, though.
I struggle with the tuberose note (well with floral notes in general). I favor the powdery floral notes (heliotrope, Osmantus, Iris).
What is a good tuberose entrance level fragrance?
Oh gosh, maybe the Gucci.
I fully understand. Your struggle is my punch in the nose to the point where tears appear with Tuberose. 😢🤷🏻♀️
@@deannstanglenny9431 Wow that is intense! You must suffer around tuberose fragrances compared tome. I only have headaches if it is a very strong fragrance.
Do you have a recommendation for a more bubblegummy sweet tuberose? Currently on the search!
I’ll have to give it some thought.
Noix de tubereuse by miller harris
@@Persolaisestill holding out on a rec for this!
Aqua Alegoria Florabloom forte it’s very very good tuberose in my opinion, the only tuberose I can wear
Good to know, thank you.
Frassai Victoria is also amazing. do you know it?
No, I’m afraid I don’t.
My all time favourite was Michael kors Michael, I need a good banana creamy tuberose perfume! Help
I'm sure someone watching this will be able to help.
Wondering what you think of Baruti Voyance
I’ve never tried it.
Thanks for watching.
Would love to get your thoughts on Guerlain Joyeuse Tubéreuse.
I'll have to dig out my sample.
I wonder if there’s a means of challenging received wisdom on Lavender?
Ah, yes -- excellent idea.
Lancôme Tubereuse Castane is gorgeous but sadly discontinued; tuberose and chestnuts.
Another discontinued one!
I think, „Truth or Dare“ was meant, by Madonna. This is a Tuberose as well.
… Gabrielle Extrait. Soo beautiful, this Tuberose.
Next time I comment at the end of the video. 😅
You can comment any time you like ;-)
You look like Gavin Rossdale. ♥️🔥
I had to look him up.
Thanks for watching.
@@Persolaise lead singer of Bush. He’s British too. 👍
My favourite tuberose is Bouquet Encore by L'Orchestre Parfum 💖
I shall have to seek it out.
Curious if Tubereuse Criminelle is being outright discontinued, or just moving to reappear in the bell jar ...
Oh gosh, I hope it's not disappearing.
Here’s where I make a joke about it being “criminelle” … but it would be! I had heard it was from other reviewers, but now I’m wondering (and hoping) it’s just moving bottles like SL seems want to do 😅🤞🤞🤞
Hi Mr P, I notice that "Love Tuberose" and "Tuberose astral" are not part of your line-up. Any particular reason?
Well, a few different reasons, I guess.
@@Persolaise LOL, I guessed that much. I just wanted your opinion on those. :)
I have never tries any of the scents since I do not get along with tuberose. (so far)
The above mentioned are very hyped on YT and I like to understand the preferences of the creators I follow (I am new to your channel). Thank you for replying to my comment. Big hug
@@anadanaya Hi again,
Sorry, I think in my rush to reply, I didn't express myself very clearly. When I said there were different reasons, I genuinely just meant there were different reasons, with no subtext implied.
If I've been commissioned to carry out some work for a brand, then I don't review or comment on their scents for an extended period of time (this is mentioned in my blurb on each video). At the moment, this applies to Amouage, which is why I don't include any of their perfumes on my lists. However, I reviewed Love Tuberose when it first came out. Here's a link: persolaise.com/2018/09/persolaise-love-at-first-scent-episode-6.html
I reviewed Tubereuse Astrale not that long ago. I find it fascinating and well worth checking out; I just don't think it's one of the Top 10 best tuberoses. Here's a link to my review: persolaise.com/2024/04/hermes-paddock-crivelli-tubereuse-astrale-ffern-spring-2024-and-eau-ditalie-reviews-2024.html
@@Persolaise Thank you so much Mr P. You are the best!!!
Watched both videos, and after watching them, understand your perspective on both. Love your channel!

J’adore how you have given vintage Poison the homage and honors she deserves; anyone who doesn’t understand this salute surely has never smelled her intoxicating, twisted wrist. A SUBLIME composition that today’s world of fast fashion and stylish imposters (fragrance imposters & luxury dupes) cannot even comprehend. From a different time, and exotic other world~

I couldn't agree more. It is a world unto itself. Utterly gorgeous.
Hiram Green Moon Bloom is one of the best
Yes, I like a lot of his work.

To the man who said poison is for the middle aged!? Non! Poison is still unique smelling. Not everyone wants to smell like their laundry or clean. Perfumes are like art or fashion soon the clean thing will be done…and the strong ones like poison, will be back in “fashion”
Maybe there’s nothing wrong with being middle aged…?
@@Persolaise exactly!! 🛎️ 🛎️
People forget the alternative is death 😂
how could giorgio beverly hills not be part of this group. it is as iconic as dior poison, and it happens to be coming from the same 80's era as poison, 4 years before poison came out. to be exact.
Yes, but I think it’s a shadow of its former self, sadly.
