The best part of the film was that Kamal sir despite being a pan India veteran was willing sit back and let FaFa and VJS take more of the limelight. Also VJS is such a legend for playing second fiddles/negative characters despite being a very talented actor himself. I respect these actors more than others who are obsessed with their superstar status.

Agent Tina was a true MVP of this film. Her reveal was possibly one of my favorite parts of the film and I will never be able to forget the way my theatre erupted when her character reveals her true self. Part of me wants to rewatch the film purely for THAT (if you know, you know) scene!

It's a pity they killed the character...I absolutely loved that scene.
@@DivyaJoan they kill characters to make sure they keep progress and make sure they don't write the characters badly cause this is gonna be a whole cinematic universe of its own so they'll focus on the important characters, and I mean the others already got their own spotlight and so many fans like agent Tina, and has her own fanbase. If anything should be done they can make character spin-offs
One of the best parts is the screen time and characterisation of every character, they didn't just make it a Kamal Hasan film but actually gave the feeling of a multistarrer, how Tina and the gym owner was shown was very well done. One really great thing was they didn't show Tina weak and that she needed someone else's help, a strong woman character which is very rare in indian cinema. Another part I loved was it didn't go completely into emotions only like many tamil films but got the actually mass feeling and to be honest it was a class and smart mass film hope Lokesh's universe pans out well and loved Suriya in his rolee!!
What I loved about what you said in the latter half is that it did not become preachy. The movie is self aware also to the point where Kamal Haasan is describing their purpose, he stops himself to say 'it seems like im lecturing you' . Pulling away just at the right time, a brilliant move from a writing stand point!

The camera work in the fight sequence before the interval was shot using the Robotic Camera Rig - Mocobot. It's a six-axis camera rig where you have to type in coordinates and program it to move how you want it to. That's how they got such precise and smooth movements.

Writing is king. I have never witnessed a complex screenplay with multiple characters in Indian cinema before.
The way loose ends were tied up (or left for sequels) whilst ensuring depth for all characters regardless of their screentime is what made this movie stand apart.
The attention to detail within the script also deserves kudos.
I believe this is the first Tamil movie that I've watched that explicitly states synthetic drugs, namely Chrystal Meth (Ice). Lokesh is painting a larger picture with cocaine in Kaithi and meth in Vikram, could it be a heroin network in the next movie?
Further, love the inclusion of subtle streaks of conspiracy theories.. movie brushes over how Vikram's team of 11 were expunged after an "incident" that went wrong in 1991. Vikram mentions later on in the movie about having to lay low for a crime they did not commit. The biggest incident that occurred in India in 1991 has plenty of conspiracy theories behind it and is a hot contemporary issue..coincidence much?

The movie was spectacular.
Some highlights and 1 lowlight:
1.The idea of keeping a bomb in the bathroom..because at the end of the day atleast one person will use it.
2.The Supporting characters in disguise...waaah...that was amazingly set.
3.The fight scene in the interval block was pakka classy and new to Tamil cinema.
4. Emotional aspects were never overdone but still the impact was felt.
5.Fafa's character was the hardest and complex one...his performance was 🔥🔥.
6. And finally Kamal sir has proved why he is the OG.
Lowlight: Vijay sethupathi having more screenspace was limited only to walking rather than acting (because he is a phenomenal actor).I felt the same Master Pattern was used

Honestly, KGF 2 and RRR didn't entertain me as much as Vikram did. KGF 2 was good but not as great as KGF. RRR writing is good, but I felt it could have been handled better. But, with Vikram, I felt complete.
RRR climax was utter crap whereas Vikram climax was simply out of the world.
Perfect
I liked this 3 films goosebumpz.. Moments❤️❤️❤️
I think this trio of Vikram should work on a Suspense Thriller.
Vikram is an absolute entertainer fuelled with powerful direction and acting.
The movie is so so good that even if it ended during the interval block then too people would have been excited for the part 2
lokesh kanagaraj's cineverse expansion loading... and i can't wait🔥💥
love your videos jammy 💯
Thank you for the review Anmol, I went out for lunch today with my brother, my boyfriend and his brother and I somehow convinced them to watch the movie and they enjoyed it too. The most disappointing thing was that there are a very few shows of Vikram in our city Guwahati, all late night shows (shows after 8:30 is late for us) because me and my brother live in a rented accommodation and have to come back home before 10:30 so there was a show only in 8:25 in the biggest mall of our city, so for the 5:15 show we went to a theatre very far away where people rarely go but to my surprise even that hall was full, we missed the first 5-8 minutes but still we caught up with the story and what a movie it is. Kamal Hassan, Fahad Fasil and Vijay Sethupathi were all so so so good and loved watching Agent Tina fighting at the end and and and the climax....what a surprise now waiting for the second part eagerly. I'm sure many people might not go for the movie now but after it releases on OTT and they watch it they'll surely storm to the theatres for the sequel.
After Telugu and Kanada movie show …The big daddy Tamil industry is back into business 💯🔥❤️
What big daddy show bro ?? It's not even PAN south film.
No offense bro, let every industry do the best in world of cinema .
@@techgeek1986 by big daddy, he means pioneer. Tamil cinema had long gone pan India even before Telugu cinema moved out from Madras - Roja, Indian, Bombay, Nayakan, Anjali were all all-India blockbusters.
Bollywood would take another 20 years to match up to the standards of VIKRAM. thats all i can say. i hav watched more than 1500 films all my life and i must say this was one of the best cinematic experience i ever had. i wud rate rate VIKRAM with such rare gems as SATYA, NAYAKAN, and GOW. i take a bow for LOkesh and i am yet to watch his other films.
Watch his Kaithi another Masterpiece with not ott sentiments and his very first film Maanagaram now remade in hindi a Mumbaikar ig, will blow ur mind on how a debut director did it. Fyi he was a former bank employee and started directing without any experience. His Master which was 50% his film and he compromised the other 50% for the star hero's fandom was also a v. Good film but the least of the lot. Still he did what he said and all 4 of his films have become huge BB
Pls understand you do not have to integrate bollywood in everything, vikram is a good movie but it is not like bollywood has not done something of this level, i felt slightly disappointed when i watched vikram due to the hype i expected it to be way better, vfx was half baked and was not of the scale of the movie and action was just average(only agent tina fight sequence was good and other than that other were just okayish,it had many flaws but lokesh did a brilliant job at integrating both universes which make it a good watch and the music and acting was just brilliant no doubt about that.It is not like vikram is some pathbreaking movie ,it is just enjoyable and the movies which you mentioned it truly do not deserve that status.
Kamals next is also with his fanboy, the director of malik. It will be more grounded and vikram is not just a commercial mass masala like Kgf, this is more smarter and to the point. Mass with class. Many are calling it the next Kgf 2 and people get disappointed when watching this. Kgf is very different from this.
Amazing review for an amazing movie jammy👍😊.
Cast of vikram are nailing with their performances and you are nailing with your crisp smart reviews 👌🤘💥.
Now I am literally convinced that LOKESH is not going to make any compromises with Thalapathy67 ! He is one of those few directors who openly admitted that because of “THE LACK OF TIME” and his “WISH OF WORKING WITH A STAR LIKE VIJAY”, MASTER was.. well not that great ! But Now he has got an entire YEAR . Extremely excited to see how a director FINALLY UTILISES VIJAY’s acting potential .. rather than projecting him ONLY AS A STAR !
If Vijay gets into kaithi universe, I seriously want him to be the antagonist joining hands with Rolex. Yaa I know the chances of this happening Will be.0.5% but it will be something that the whole kollywood fan's want.
@@TheBeast-np4yb imagine Vijay as a villain 🔥 insane
@@TheBeast-np4yb Nahh .. two stars coming together .. that too Suriya and Vijay ?? Really tough .. But we can always hope for the best ! For now all I want a KICKASS FILM which will show everybody what level of a performer VIJAY is !!!
The thing is whenever people has to work with Vijay thers a certain pattern that is needed to be followed by the directors, which maybe his team demands or the fans do.It needs to have one intro song( which very surprisingly beast didn't have..but to compensate that the hero and heroine jump into dance after 5 mins of meeting),a heroine who just runs around him..the hero that initially fails, but after the death of someone close he rises like a phoenix...and it will be out and out an one man show...so if Vijay comes to be a part of this, this will lose the Charisma of being the multistarrer it is...It will be an out and out Vijay show..
vijays acting potential? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for suggesting the movie "Kaithi"..i wonder how south movie industry can deliver a simple story so brilliantly and we are still in the old formulas only of glamour and copy
First and foremost, LOVED the movie. A big thanks to LK for bringing this “near to perfect” masterpiece with Kamal Sir, at its helm.
I am over the moon that finally Kamal sir is finally playing an age appropriate role in the movie like Amithab Bachan sir and is not being pursued by a love interest.
Kamal sir and his grandson connection in the movie worked wonders.
FAFA was phenomenal to say the least, his no nonsense portrayal kept the first half very engaging.
Vijay Sethupathi’s role was watered so badly that I felt it missed lot of opportunity for keying in some very awesome mass moments. By the end of the 2 act, it became clear that Sethupathi’s role was written specifically to keep reminding the audience about Rolex (Suriya) so many times that it became too apparent that Sethupathi’s character is not the final boss and eliminated any threat that his character posed for both FAFA and Kamal Sir.
During the final conversation btw Sethupathi and Kamal Sir, I very much expected Kamal sir to deliver his iconic “Mahanadhi” dialogue.. “Neerai koodi, parruvam, … veellum seella Vedickkai manidar poll naanum vizven yenna ninaithaiyo?” This would have raised the scene to vera level and would have been a fabulous call back to the legend that is Kamalhasan sir.
Btw - IMHO Suriya’s bit was not impactful for me, it was a let down especially after all the “build up” that Sethupathi’s character gave through out the movie.
Kamal Sir, rocked the stunt sequence, he was very believable in the action bits and Props to LK for using appropriate stunt doubles and cinematography to deliver on Kamal Sir’s Nickname “Ghost” and the credibility of an elite veteran of war coming out of retirement.
Of course, of all the things I enjoyed in the movie Agent Tina’s role was the best. This is how women should be written and portrayed in movies not just as eye candy in bikinis dance numbers. She and the other 3 black ops team stood out so phenomenally well that I am hoping for a prequel placed between Vikram 1 and this movie that shows how Kamal recruited his black ops team.
I am also now secretly hoping that Karthi from Kaidhi is also a Black ops team operator who is trained by Vikram and his Dilli character will face off with Rolex in the next instalment of Vikram.
In conclusion, I am a Happy Andhavar fan going to sleep tonight. Thanks to LK and the whole team. Money well spent finally.
Best movie I have seen, in a while. Best cinematic experience ever. Literally the hall was converted in to stadium. Sadly many North belt audience will miss it in theaters due to lack of publicity. None the less it has now highest grossed tamil movie ever.
Kaithi and vikram is connected...
And some rumours says surya will be the villain for kaithi 2...
If it true... The tamil cienma will get a multi universe sambhavam❌️❤️
Yeah bro it'll be karthi vs Surya in kaithi 2 🔥
Not multiverse it's universe.
Kaithi 2 will mostly be a prequel i think
No Rolex vs Vikram will be there in Vikram 2 or 3, if thalapathy 67 is also a part of this movie then it will create wonders
So will dilli . Trust me that vikram, amar and dilli v rolex already gives me sm hope but adding thalapaty 67 into it will littreally be the death of me-
One of the best movies that definitely requires us to pay attention to details. And I love it when a movie makes me think and correlate
You know the movie is good when jammy starts with underwhelming aspects
ALSO THAT ISN'T EVEN AN UNDERWHELMING ASPECT
So it's gonna be a good film
Really one of the best films this year, thoroughly enjoyed it yesterday😍
Traces of A-Team (Planning & Characterization), The Mechanic (Stunts, kill with a laptop) and a true-blue drug gangster - Cop face-off! Traces of Breaking bad - source of Raw Material, preparation & making and in the end an excellent action flick in Tamizh making viewers eagerly wait for Vikram 2 or Kaithi 3 or as you said Agent Tina.
Kudos to lokesh kangaraj for adding no romance aspect to the movie 👍
i just finished watching this movie, this is easily one of my favourite movies now. and i loved how they included kaithi part of this universe, because i absolutely loved that movie. honestly this movie is epic! much better than kgf and rrr. those were good entertainers, but in terms of story line and as a thriller, one of the best movie.
Please do interviews with people like Kamal Hassan and Fafa..
You will definetely have some quality questions to throw at them
okay , i always wonder why tamil movies are not making big into hindi market when they have most popular stars across south like Rajni sir , Vijay , surya and many more ... Now this movie will finally break thorugh to pan india , i wish they atleast should have done more promotions here in hindi cos they have content but still crowd dont know that much yet
This is not the only Pan India Tamil film. There were many and they were masters in making such movies. One can say it is a comeback with a bang.To name a few Roja 1992, Nayakan 1987, Bombay 1995, Heyram 2000, Jeans 1998,Nayak 2001,Indian 1996, Robot 2010...
Tamil movies were always pan Indian movies. Nattamai movie was remade in most of the languages and Anil Kapoor became star by remaking bhagyaraj movies
Audiences had hope from Vijay’s Beast .. But it was utter shit and disappointment. Ajith is not so famous in north. Rajni is old man how much do you expect from him
There's a critic who shouts random English words whenever a good movie is out and then there's you who comes up with detailed analytical reviews.
It's sad the Cinema of our locality didn't get Vikram.
Are you talking about angry rantman?
@@prithvip6360 Rantman surprisingly liked Vikram so I guess someone else
@@prakharjain6232 I never said the critic disliked the movie. He sometimes shouts too much be it in excitement or a straight out rant.
@@pulokeshbanerjee3413 Oh but that's his style brothe, that's what he does, he is not false advertising. So it isn't justice to compare him with someone who is devoted critic.
@@prakharjain6232 don't get me wrong I'm not saying he's bad (it's so fun to watch his review when a movie is extremely bad) but I love Jammy's reviews more than his.
Couple of trivia.. Action director Anbariv are actually twins..Anbu and Arrivu... Identical twins at that ... Agent Tina has been a background dancer in Tamil cinema for years
(BEING A TELUGITE Rather than KGF2, RRR, RS whatever )- My vote goes ONLY TO Vikram. No comments on KH sir🙏🙏👏👏👏 & FAFA u r d best ♥️♥️feel lyk Sethu's character can be modified in a better way 🤔
Imagine if Rolex character would have played by rajnikanth (or somehow boss of Rolex's character) then kamal and ranj sir's face-off would be a feast to watch. Biggest multistarer ever in LKU!
Even I thought of this ..but unfortunately rajni lost his charm long ago...Kamal looked brilliant and badass in this film more than rajini in his previous 3 films
@@swaroopboyina4236 rajni doesn't seem that fit as Kamal! Atleast to look at.
@@lateshkumarchitragar3790 exactly
@@lateshkumarchitragar3790 you guys must be delusional. Rajinikanth is over 73. Looks fit as a fiddle. He's not Hrithik Roshan fit. But for a 73 year old man, he definitely is.
@@swaroopboyina4236 it takes a good script and a director to make an actor shine. Rajni is actually a lot older than kamal but as a drug cartel boss, he’d kill it. Wouldn’t that be a feast for us?!
Agent Tina needs her own spin off!! Vikram is awesome!! But agent Tina was badass! It was my omg moment and I started clapping n screaming for her! Just brilliant! ❤️
Yes , I also feel same
Man I've been waiting for your review since yesterday morning.
I'm glad you liked it.
Agent Tina just took this movie to another level. She rocked the sequence.
Kamal Haasan himself Sings the introduction Song from 1986 Vikram in the climax Face Off. That was pure Fan Boy Stuff from Lokesh Kanagraj!!
Now I am confused about Ajey Devgan's Bholaa whose sequal is already planned by ajey but lokesh made his own universe with kaithi
Yaa that's unnecessary from the production side. Could have kept it in the roots
It would be different and the 2nd part will be original
