  • Not sure why anyone would do this, but here we go...
    Watch my another crazy project where I put an AMD GPU inside a RTX gaming box housing: • Rebuild AORUS RTX 3080...

    very cool my friend, will do this eventually when I get tired of my minipc setup and go back to a normal desktop.
    I will always wonder why they went with this power connector in the gpu...

    Great video. I have a 3080 gamingbox and I'm thinking about building a desktop with it, since my ulttabook really sucks (i5 8350u).
    The key question how much improvement can I get with a 12400f? Have you ran a test like 3dmark or fps in games?
    Also, the tube seems reaaaaaally short. Is it possible at all to install the fans in the front panel?

      The tubes are too short for front panel mounting yes. But it must be almost 2 years that I have been running the card in my desktop almost 24/7 in a weird orientation without issues now. It just looks very unsightly lol.
      You will get a major major jump in performance with an i5-12400F. The 3080 would be heavily bottlenecked by an Ultrabook CPU.

    cool and all but this wont work that well bro because pumps and radiators that are upside down die after a few months go look at gamers nexus video on the best configuration for AIOS dont want your 3080 to die on you please check and try to find a way to remount it better or flip the pc upside down to use no joke this has happened to me with a 1070 that i got used and had an aio and i placed it upside down in a lian li mini and it died after 3 months the pump of it and had to buy a 40 dollar artic cooler for it

      That's interesting and thank you for letting me know! Yeah that ancient PC case is from Pentium III era with a CD-ROM drive in it LOL, definitely wasn't designed for AIO radiator mounting. I think for cases like that, either cut a hole at the bottom then flip up-side-down for hot air to escape, or turn the radiator 90-degree so that it radiates to the side.

    how did you make the water cooling

    • @ComputerizedCanada
      @ComputerizedCanada  9 месяцев назад

      It came with water cooling preinstalled inside a thunderbolt gaming box, the kind you would plug into your laptops to upgrade with an external GPU. I just took the GPU out of the box and installed it into my desktop PC. Lol.

      I guess it was just me trying to find a new way to void my warranty? Joking aside, I saw a few viewers previously commented asking if a GPU taken from an AORUS Gaming Box can run in a standard PC so I made this video to show that yes it can be. Whether it's recommended is another question.
