I have a 2020 Corolla SE I bought at the Asheville branch in January. The highest MPG I've seen so far was 42.5 and I wish I'd taken a picture of it because I'll probably never see that again.
Manual-sports-mode has 10 gears!!! I test-drove it last night!!! Awesome acceleration. The agility of this car is optimal for driving in mountainous roads, up or down!!!
Just bought an LE which I love. I wish i had found you before I bought my 2021 LE. Please do a review on the LE as I want to learn more. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
@@LionRunner It’s a CVT. When you go into sport mode. You can go up to “10 gears”. Which in reality is only 1 gear + 9 simulated one. Since this CVT has a actual first gear.
@@MARTINRIGGSS pls correct me if I'm wrong. I thought only E-CVT got the 1st gear and rest is handle by the CVT vs Corolla shown here got the CVT with no dedicated starting gear. I'm not sure, just asking.
I have owned Corollas for most of my car life. I had a new Tercel for my first car at age 16 & then, I had a Yaris, but most of the cars I got from my parents were Corollas. I can’t wait till I can buy the RAV4, but I won’t buy it till I get the vaccine. I am looking @ next spring before buying my new car. Keep up the good work with the videos, Jeff!
I have a 2020 Toyota Corolla XSE bought from Fred Anderson. Ive got to say overall good car. The Toyota 2.0 safety sense could be way more upgraded though. The lane trace assist is a little aggressive even on the first bar and the auto high beam sometimes don't detect cars coming and it does blind them(I turned off auto high beam for that reason). Sometimes radar/camera in the car has a hard time detecting the road which then turns off lane trace. It seems like the radar/camera is too small for the car because the Tacoma and Tundra is perfect detecting the road. The road sign detection is okay at best. It does read the signs but you have to be right on them. You can't be a in the left lane on an interstate for the speed limit signs, it wont read them. But on the other hand gas mileage is GREAT! I get about 35mpg average when not in sport mode and when I'm really feathering the throttle I can get over 40mpg. The features inside are awesome with siriusxm and HDRadio. I just wish I had Android Auto(Toyota come out with an update for older models!).
dude you're simply the best....aka Tina; nut your reviews are always entertaining...keep up the good job as always. Also; can you review the 2021 Toyota Supra SE or XSE too.
Great review. Not in the market for a Carolla but it brings back memories of a good friend of mine who has a 84 5 speed. Not so many safety options back then..
the 1.8L engine is tried and true though but time has yet to tell how the 2.0 dynamic force engines will do even though toyota is reliable. it has a questionable electric water pump and that could be a issue. plus high pressure mechanical fuel pump and the cvt with launch gear while a great idea is questionable durability. cvt themselves are also new. lots of new things here all at once. toyota doesnt give a transmission dipstick anymore nor a easy drain bolt but having to take the wheel off and plastic covers to do a drain and fill so not very DIY friendly anymore. this car is about 400lbs heavier than a 9th gen corolla. each generation gets heavier so those horsepower gains dont do anything i'm guessing for acceleration feel hehe maybe the 2.5L camry is best option you get the traditional transmission that can take the power and it has more acceleration. a used camry in particular undercuts new corollas especially the more expensive corolla trims. i like your advice at the end jeff, about being nicer, thanks.
Jeff, The more things change , the less they remain the same. Today all Corollas have an independent rear suspension while M_ _ _ a3 has dropped it from the entire line. This Blue Crush color is nice but I already have a crush on Blueprint.

I built an XSE on Toyota's site. With just a few options it's close to 30 grand. For a Corolla. Apparently we're in the upside down world. New car prices are out of control.
Corolla is a premium fun to drive compact sedan now so prices will be higher. Also inflation is a thing. $10,000 from 1970 would be $50,000 in today's dollars.
Nobody pays MSRP? Couldn’t get a break on the Camry TRD at all. Plus its a piece of crap to boot. Toyota is getting too full of themselves. Very expensive for junk
I come from a Toyota family. My uncle has a manual Tacoma with 400k miles on it. I bought a Honda Pilot and didn’t get invited to Thanksgiving this year. True story.
Toyota gotta do something about that overly LONG front overhang in the Corolla, it looks like pinocchio in the side view and so disproportionate with the smartly designed rear portion.
@@robertbruce2182 Australia is a big market for Toyota so you thoroughly deserve the GR Yaris. Having said that,Toyota's profit from North America dwarfs the money they earn in Europe so there is no justification to deny us the best products.
Are you seriously comparing a 23k Corolla to a top of the line racing inspired Civic that costs close to 40, if not higher? Are you seriously that dumb?
All the Honda dealers near me told me that they will sell me a new Civic Type R for no less than 50,000 dollars out the door i.e including all taxes and fees. This is because of the huge dealer mark-up on Civic Type Rs. Dave, don't be silly, how can you compare a 23K Corolla to a 50K Civic?
Thanks for watching! I hope you all have a great Christmas and Holiday season :) Jeff

It would be awesome if Corolla got Automatic trans like a 6 speed or 8 speed.
Corollas now have 8-speed automatic transmission, as standard feature. See also my fresh comment above.
