    Loved the interview, and love Andre... he always keeps it real.
    I have always believed that Bruce Lee is one of the most influential humans ... second to none. But never gets the credit he deserves.
    I have met several people who knew him , a school friend of his and a guy who met him through Sterling Silliphant...and both said he was phenomenally fast and powerful.

      I agree, hear so many people say The Beatles inspired them so much. Being a young teen in 1973, Bruce Lee l think changed my life, l did 2 styles of karate and tae kwon do, though l never reached black belt in any martial art, l consider Bruce Lee my teacher and when sparring my technique is more kung fu than any other, one inch punch, sticky hands with eyes closed. l consider myself even now at 63, l still have speed and can handle myself. R.I.P Bruce Lee

    35:38, Jesus, there has never been a movie star to be as magnetic, charismatic and INTENSE in his poses . NOBODY EVER . The man was just a freak of nature . Arnold was great . Stallone was great . JCVD, at an extent was great . Eastwood was great . Bronson and McQueen were great . But, Lee was at a level nobody touched .

    As incredible as Bruce was I understand how difficult it would be to deal with him at times. He’s like an ever ready battery that just keeps on kicking. But when one realizes that he’s not trying to put one over you but he’s for real. Very few people we meet have their soul flowing through them like he did so we’re not use to it. You are very impressive with how honest you are sir. How I see the movie is Bruce says very little compared to his other films and the quality of the look and the music and acting were of a much higher quality then his others by far. So it came across as this man is the master. Where he mostly observes and when he fights he’s in another realm. As if all these guys are no problem but he’s trying to actually hold back so he doesn’t kill them.

    I have to say Mr. Willow, you are a great interviewer. I saw Bruce Lee in the Green Hornet before he was 'Bruce Lee'. Then I saw him in 'Longstreet'. He has had a significant impact on my life (now 61). So to see your interviews with Bob Wall (RIP) and now Andre Morgan, are like when I discovered the 'Lost Interview' with Pierre Burton. This is quite a treasure as a Bruce Lee fan and martial artist. Your questions allow the interviewees to speak and share, and since you don't gush over them, you pull real answers that let us in on the interviewees and their thoughts and feelings as well as their Bruce Lee insights. Believe me, you have a gift. Please don't stop and I thank you immensely!

    This was interesting to watch. Mr. Morgan was in the right place at the right time many times historically. Photos with Lee in key production moments , Lee's funeral etc. He was all over the place. I wish he had expounded on other elephants in the history room like Lee's stormy relationship with Lo Wei, the media's treatment of him, and the corrosion of he and Chow's relationship when Enter the Dragon almost didn't happen. And moreover, he was with Lee on the last day of his life. He knows things Chow and many others took to the grave. You still can hear producer mode damage control in some of his narrative.

  • @shihanUKS
    @shihanUKS 3 года назад +16

    Why wasn't Morgan on the bio circuit telling it like it was from the beginning? This man was THE shadow. He was Chow's logistical clean up man with the black bag. And believe me, that Chow was dirty, man. He knew where the strings were in the puppet shows and where the bodies were buried when damage needed control. The things he witnessed on set. All the stuff I ever read my whole childhood, this was the guy in the box seat, first row, making things happen. He should be touring with the things he knows. The things he made go away. When Lee went after Lo Wei in the screening room and Wei called the police, Andre broke it up and hid the knife! When Lee's casket was damaged en route to Seattle from Hong Kong, he was the one who had the casket replaced for the Seattle funeral. He oversaw the Hong Kong funeral and how the body was prepared which he admitted was a botched job. Andre also knew everything that went on July 20th 1973. Clear from being in the office with Lee before he went to see Betty to the coroner's inquest months later. If this man wrote a book on his career at Golden Harvest, it would blow the roof off of every documentary made since the seventies. This interview was fine but a bit sanitized and I wish the interviewer had done more digging in his research to really flush out the texture of Morgan's experience.

    Im sure he was present monitoring costs with all the script changes during "Enter". Decades later, before Jim Kelly passed, he never stopped being agitated talking about "Enter". He would always side sep or change the subject. I gather he never really got over how he was treated on the set and how his character was always in some way reduced or tampered with especially the fact that his character was supposed to survive in the end. To see two real martial artists fight side by side , Lee and Kelly, would have been too much for white America to take. I sure would have appreciated Morgan's take on that .

    • @theflyingninja1
      @theflyingninja1 3 года назад

      Jim Kelly was shafted in nearly all his films. Barely in Golden Needles, given nothing to do in Three the Hard Way and Take a Hard Ride, and then forced to go make cheapo films like Black Samurai and Death Dimension.
      The only film he really 'starred' in was Black Belt Jones, and its great. I think he was just too ahead of his time. America wasn't ready for him.

    • @shihanUKS
      @shihanUKS 3 года назад +2

      @@theflyingninja1 Thats a valid point. I didn't notice the collective reduction in those roles. Even with Black Belt Jones which I liked, he had to endure Bob Wall as the fight choreographer. That was strictly Fred Weintraub's doing to keep him on set since he was cast as a thug with couple of lines. Kelly and Wall had the same instructor once--Gordon Doversola, who taught everybody in L. A. at one time. They didn't exactly do bar-b-ques and ball games together but being the film business is so lubricated by false association, they were never tight . Bruce wasn't tight with anyone but he did favor Kelly because he would have been useful had Lee lived.

    I get the feeling listening to him that martial arts including UFC in it's true sense is really a science. And just like it's name an art about who is the more skilled opponent and they should bow out of respect to each other. They should also do that in UFC make it mandatory to touch gloves and bow.if you don't you automatically lose the fight for unprofessional conduct. In this era I don't think being a "badass in pop terms" is cool. Being respectful and humble is what it is. This psychological warfare and dismissing someone's martial arts and not challenging them to a real life fight is soft. I don't really respect that. Im from the old school, if you're tough enough to shame somebody's martial arts you better be willing to back your words in a fight and not come up with a crazy conspiracy to get someone killed or murdered. Martial arts isn't about being evil and devil worship either. I sincerely hope martial arts changes it ways. Social media is the devil. Even worse is seeing a "plant" some bum who has no experience in a particular martial arts style fight with someone who is a popular martial arts style and get soundly beaten, just to prove the popular martial arts style is better, many videos like this pop all over RUclips. lol what kind of elementary school crap is that? I know when someone is a plant and someone is an actual expert martial artist.

    The Truth ? I was with Wong shun leung who taught limited wing chun to BL and myself in Hong Kong and we knew BL was just an actor .Eddie he was 16- 17 not 13 and thats not true..he was not ip man student because yip man was never a teacher to anyone but more like a symbol so his seniors did and wong shun leung told me he was on and off maybe 1,5 years to pick up some lessons ,, i was in hong kong and with him ,.jet kun was founded by fook yueng in seattle ,bl learned from him and he later stole it and named it as jeet kune do and fook yueng who was a friend of his dad remained silent, linda his widow called his name in a meeting in seattle, where is he where is he .. here he is fook yueng was bruce s teacher and mentor, shannon li con artist erases everything i claim ,she edit wikipedia with buncha lies and made up stories ,she wants to sue anyone whos telling the truth , I know bls lies and game better than anyone in the world and i challenge anyone to face me. bl was also a druggie and we all heard that at that time and he was listed as a druggie by the british crown colony police in Hong Kong..
    there is no way an actor can fight an extra in motion picture, its not acceptable by law so please pass that lie ,
