Andy said it really well, and exactly how it is regarding Who am I ?, the choreo's are on the spot shooting almost straight away, while nowdays you have pre viz workshops etc etc. days before, (so your mind can prepare for intense scenes) but jacky is realtime and Scott knows it as well, so yes first movie hard hard, lucky I could control, hold stop the legs else it could have been even dangerous with the speed Jackie is operating. Choreo and remembering is one, but then the rhythm and tempo is like another dimension added on top of this.
Compare it with a beginning actor getting 5 to 8 dialogue lines 2 minutes before executing a scene with full emotions, memory of the lines and flow. This is what it does to the mind. We literally got 1-2 minutes rehearsing before executing these combos, then on top you have the crew, wardrobe, after each take who corrects your suit, make up touching you up, and you talking to yourself... ok ... next take... kick higher... little longer on the stop..... look at jackie after the last kick.... turn faster...... .. Then 20 seconds later you hear... 'ready and ...action...' This is how it is... You need all of these tiny details to get amazing fight scenes. Later after years and years doing it, you start to automatically do many of these, like driving a car..its embedded in your system
*** Crazy thing is at the same time I lost my job, and the dutch stuntteam wanted to beat me up....as they wanted to do the scene, one of the stuntguys even stole my suit to show Jackie he looks better than me and could do it better...
To be honest any movie after Who am I was relatively less pressure, as people know how it is to work with Jackie, thats also why Jackie is a master and his movies are amazing.
If some very honest stuntman would speak out, even people who are in the business long time they even feel pressure, everyone has doubles, thats movie making.
Jackie, hes a master, I would say grandmaster.. and my first real teacher in action movies and the best...Many thanks to him for giving me the opportunity !!!!
*** I fought Scott Adkins himself in Ninja II, 20 years after Who am I ? and it was one of the most smoothest fights I ever did... it was a long take with some important timings and reactions (Dojo scene), Scott is great to fight, people who did can tell that !

@@GothamKnight84661 thank you so much, really action movies is my life, I was young I gave all I had. And never gave up, actually amazing things are happening as I always kept going, it was a little bit hard after the documentary my stunts, as I got bashed and it was slightly a twisted version of the story. Mostly the people who bashed me were the action people themselves who secretly wanted to fight Jackie. This business is a very complicated one. If they were in my shoes they would have felt it I can tell.. I couldn't do more it was a lot of pressure. So Yes Andy said it totally perfectly as it really is. And thank you of course... I always say - Life is Action

I recognize Andy Cheng as a prominent member of the JC Stunt Team, and as a world-class Tae Kwon Do athlete. Loved seeing him in a fight scene with Donnie Yen! Great stories from him about working with Jackie Chan and how he visualizes fights and camera framing: how he multi-tasks while shooting scenes! I agree that the less western directors interfere with the his fight sequences the better. Jackie just knows how to do action films! Awesome that Jackie also saved his life at one point! Also happy to know he worked on Into the Badlands and The Rundown! Now I'm so excited that Andy Cheng is actually involved with the Shang Chi Marvel movie!!! Superb episode, Scott!!! I was floored that there was a new one right after the Segal interview, and I'm not complaining!!!

This is one of best videos to date and that is saying a lot. We get a closer look at the mystical animal called Jackie Chan. And Andy was able to give us an insight to how the great master works.
Like Andy, I was disappointed they cancelled Into The Badland. The story was getting bizarre, but I still love the action sequences. I would have loved to see Scott in the show, but it would have blew up the budget and the series would have ended after one season... hahaha... Scott, "you are a big star"... hahaha...
The last segment on how Jackie saved his life is amazing. It was sad and scary how close we were to losing him. I am surprised there were no divers around the boat to make sure everyone got back out after the shot.

    2 interviews in a week? Let's go!

You know...my theory is that Steven Seagal may have been a surprise event for us and Scott himself. Seagal probably returned his call very suddenly and just gave him a very tiny window of opportunity for getting the interview shot. I somehow cannot imagine that it might have been an easy job to organize a deal with him...although he seemed tame in the footage.
As a positive result we got 2 videos in one week.

Yes. I actually got thru the whole Segal interview..

@@Joobkl I was afraid it was going to be an absolute cringefest. Hahaha except for that awkward moment when Scott referred to him as white (I personally don't know Seagal's ethnicity). Thankfully Scott handled it well with that smooth recovery.

Another very interesting interview. I spent a couple of days on the Who Am I set in Rotterdam and remember Andy being there. Also I am agreed with Scott about Into The Badlands, such a great show - me and the wife loved it. Such a shame it was cancelled. :( Still hope they can find a way to bring it back in some form. Warrior is another good show worth seeing if you liked ITB by the way.
