I can attest to the quality of Sinn. My Sinn U1 B I bought almost 5 years ago looks pretty much brand new. It has been with me on 100+ dives in northern Norway.
@PeterKotsa just a correction, the T50 doesn't come tegimented.. the regular T50 has a tegimented bezel, but none of them have a tegimented case, case back or bracelet..
Hi, thanks for the review, was waiting for it 🙂 One comment - I think the case is just grade 5 titanium, it is not tagimented. Also, the bracelet is grade 2 titanium - softer than grade 5. That is what I read somewhere
I like Sinn watches. This one looks very interesting and I’m curious about patina changes. And totally agree about the clasp. They really need to change it with something with on the fly adjustment. Thanks for a great review!
holy sh!t this is one attractive looking watch. the only thing i kinda wish it has is a second hand with the same gold-bronze material to complete the look. i know bronze will patina over time and possibly have small flakes of oxydised material peeling off. you can't have that inside a watch. but sinn does have the technology and the means to replace atmospheric air inside the watch with argon, as they've done this with some of their watches already. just imagine, gold-bronze bezel + gold-bronze second hand in an argon-filled 500m diver. max utility. max charisma. it surely would be many people's top pick for a 1-watch collection.
Excellent review Peter! This is truly a fine tool watch but I believe the company in recent years has strayed very far from Helmut Sinn's philosophy of providing purpose-built tool watches at an affordable price. I have an interview Helmut Sinn had given some years ago where he made it quite clear that he wasn't very pleased with the direction his namesake company was being taken by the current ownership. This watch at over 6k precisely illustrates his feelings.
Lovely watch. I Personally, I wouldn't mind the crystal. That black dial and wide markers overcomes the glare and the dome effectively makes the whole thing even more legible. So yeah, aside from the clasp, a good product from Sinn.
I was ardently awaiting a review of this watch. Who is better than Peter Kotsa to get to the task? Answer: No one. I placed an order for Sinn U50 (Fully Tegimented) but was really tempted to wait for this one. However, I decided against the T50 and am now waiting for the U50.
A bit odd that they tegiment the titanium but have a bezel that is composed of soft metals. Functionality aside it looks beautiful I love the tones of the titanium and bronze/gold Finishing looks extra special as well. I love Sinn 😊
It is indeed a rather interesting thing to do. However, with Sinn, you can always purchase the tegimented, titanium bezel as well afterwards if you would desire to do so. When I grabbed the first U50-T at launch, it only came with the tegimented steel bezel. But I was able to purchase the black, tegimented SDR bezel afterwards for a few hundred bucks. The only annoying part was the 4-5 month shipping delay, haha. But the watch with both bezels is great! Although I won't be getting this titanium model, I do love the lightweight feel of full titanium pieces! It is a great change up from Sinn with their U50 series!
it took a Sinn 856 UTC for me to finally properly like the look of a GMT watch. There's just something charismatic about how blunt and functional Sinn's designs are. They manage to have a personality with so few distinct elements.
Great addition to Sinn’s dive watch line up. I’ve owned U1s and U2s and they’re an excellent watch. Maybe I “need” this T50. Thanks for your excellent Review.
I recently bought a U50 with a metal belt and that is my only complaint. Cutting the nails short makes it impossible to put it on and take it off . I started taking supplements and sleeping 10 hours a day to keep my nails strong and long. Well, I love the U50 as a total package😊
Like you said, it is a tool. An expensive tool but a diver buys the best tools. You wouldn't wear a Submariner now would you? You said if it aint broke don't fix it, I totally agree the SW300 is a perfect movement and a work horse in many watches. Sinn is an excellent brand and holds its value. Tip o My Hat for the editing. This is an excellent format. I appreciate the LACK OF MUSIC while you are speaking. Too many you-tubers ruin videos with that. It is a $50,000 sound system here that amplifies everything and talking over music is distracting and annoying. I love music, I have loads in my playlists. For information videos, it is not necessary for it to be cluttered up with music. Sorry, I'm ranting.
To be fair even the low volume background music in this I feel is not needed. A well narrated video like this one doesn't require any music barring an intro/outro. I want to be listening to someone talking OR music, not one over the other.
Automatic "tool watches" make me laugh...they wouldn't last a week on the wrist of a real professional and, deep down - beyond the marketing hype - we all know this. The best tool watch is a QUARTZ.
@Lee 💯 that's why if I'm buying automatics I tend to gravitate towards vintage style pieces like Doxa Subs, Tudors, etc. Just feels more genuine. Having a "super tough tool watch"...with a (relatively) fragile automatic just feels so silly to me...like I've fallen prey to marketing BS lol
I’m assuming the material texture enhances the color combination, especially on the hands, because it already looks handsome. Perfect modern tool for the Roman… Greek! How’s how’s the loom at *05 am? Does it hold a charge? Thank you, Peter
I really don't understand why anyone cares about companies like Rolex and Blancpain and *insert other boring Swiss watch companies here*. They don't bring a quarter of what Sinn does to the table.
Love your reviews the Sinn U50 is a great watch I would love to see you do a review of the new Fortis Flieger GMt in titanium would love to hear your opinion on it.
Thanks for the review. Can you confirm the case is tegimented as stated in the video? I don't see that on the specifications page on WatchBuys. I do see that it is a grade 5 Ti case (a harder alloy) and a grade 2 Ti bracelet (the softer, commercially pure metal).
Hi, no problem - I appreciate the quick reply and the clarification. The grade 5 (alloy) case should at least be more scratch resistant than grade 2. Another Ti watch I was looking at in this price range, the Tudor Pelagos 39, is all grade 2, including the case, which seems like a cost-saving measure. (2 totally different watches but both very nice)
I've been waiting for a review of this watch on youtube, thank you for this video! I wonder how the gold-bronze will age with time. If this watch didn't have a date function, I would buy this instead of the Tudor Pelagos 39.
Looks great Sinn is hitting out of the park - except the clasp. Can you confirm the bracelet is grade 5 as I read it was grade 2 with the head being grade 5 Keep up the awesome content, and exceptional macros
Looks fantastic! I always found Sinn to be too sterile and boring for my taste, but the bronze on the bezel is just the right amount of splash. So annoying that it's limited though. I'd need some time to save up and I'm done with FOMO. Great review as always!
Wow looks really nice 😍 but very steep pricing. At that price I would expect Sinn to at least provide on the fly adjustment on their bracelet. Even Tudor has it at cheaper price.
Gorgeous watch but Sinn is nutz w/the pricing on these! If they added a new on-the-fly macro-adj bracelet clasp, better lume an a blue dial ... and cut the price I'd own one. For now, I'll stick w/my Sinn T1B and love it.
Beaut looking watch, I really like the gold/bronze bezel, it contrasts nicely with the titanium case and black dial. I agree the price tag is a bit pricey, 4 to 5K would’ve been a nicer deal for serious Sinn enthusiasts and watch collectors. Great review, thanks for sharing Pete 👍
So one thing that is a real letdown with me on this one is the lack of full tegiment. Unless the AD you are working with has different information, the Sinn website only claims the bezel to be tegimented on the full titanium model, and on this gold bronze bezel model they do not mention tegiment at all. If the whole watch and bracelet were tegimented i would be really tempted by this of something from the pelagos range, but as it is I think this is a pass from me
As far as I know only the full titanium bezel is tegimented, however it also sounds unlike Sinn not to strengthen that bezel (albeit different materials used)
I am certain that I'll be getting this watch, in either the T50 base or GDBR bezel variant, but the author is mistaken both in saying that the case and bracelet are tegimented titanium. Neither the caseback nor the bracelet clasp has the tegimenting logo etched on it to reinforce that point. At the very start of the video the clasp for the silicone strap *is* tegimented, as indicated by the logo on the clasp. Author is also incorrect in saying that the titanium bracelet is the same grade 5 titanium as the case; the bracelet is grade 2. Not mentioned here, but I'll add anyway: the base T50 non-GDBR has a tegimented titanium bezel. I do not believe Sinn has stated where GDBR stands on the vickers hardness scale yet, but I'm sure they'd answer directly if asked.
Comments from a Sinn 556 fanboy : No doubt we have premium quality here, but this price point positions the watch in a territory where residuals may be a challenge should the buyer want to move on in 2 years On purely aesthetics viewpoint, I don’t find the mix of goldbronze and matt titanium very attractive. Better stick to a more sober style, when the model claims 50 bar of water resistance Having the same Sinn bracelet in steel, I confirm the clasp is a bit of a disappointment. Double trigger release and micro adjustment are now standard spec, even at a lower price point A marmite diver, in fact. 😉 PS : an no need for an in-house movement in a Sinn.
Looks cool with the goldbronze. I like it. But it's a hard pill to swallow when you know the value is in the case materials. Lacks Sinn tech for me to be tempted. AR is about it.
Personally I’m not a fan of titanium watches, they feel like toy watches to me. Not a fan of any type of two tone and hate bronze watches. Having said all that this does some how look pretty cool to me. That bracelet is too basic though!👍
Disappointing that Sinn are still using that clasp - I had a 556i and it was a real weak point with a really annoying/cheap rattle coming from the dive extension
It's a beautiful watch, big fan of titanium and H link bracelet... not a big fan of the moisture detector crappy thingy though, something to force a service within a given time...also the crown at 4 o'clock is so seiko.. ie cheap
Too many no points. A. Price. B. Bezel - if it was not going to patina, maybe. C. Clasp is not the same quality as the watch. D. The solution to the fogging. I'd like to see an inert gas inside. The drilled hole ruins the look of it.
I can attest to the quality of Sinn. My Sinn U1 B I bought almost 5 years ago looks pretty much brand new. It has been with me on 100+ dives in northern Norway.

Sinn needs to update the clasp to get to that next level. They sure do love going up market in price
I like Sinn watches. This one looks very interesting and I’m curious about patina changes. And totally agree about the clasp. They really need to change it with something with on the fly adjustment. Thanks for a great review!
Just bought an EZM 3F and totally love it. On a nato . Honestly, Sinn is just amazing!
Brilliant watch, well done 💪
Thanks Peter, now I have 7 deadly Sins in my wish list after you have shown us this new release. This GRONZE one is very tempting.
😊😂
Thanks for the hands on review of this T50. Outside of the price, this diver hits on all the right notes!
👍
I'm a huge fan of titanium and gold ever since I saw a particular Blancpain Leman model that used it, its just a dichotomy that works and looks good.
I like that. Bronze done right. Nice contrast between the bezel, the dial face and the bracelet. Pricey, but very pretty.

That’s a wow - right up my alley! Thanks for highlighting this Sinn, Peter! Just wish it was $6k cheaper😉
I'm sure some company on alibaba will probably make an "homage" watch soon.....

I like it! It reminds me of the Tag Heuer Super Professional Ref. 844.006 from 1980s.
Totally agree on the clasp. It looks cheap, 'tinny' and is one of the reasons I'm reluctant to get a Sinn.
