- This week I have 2 Sinn 356's twenty five years apart. I haven't put my speedy on once since buying this watch. I have some thoughts...

Wish there were more Sinn in stores. Would love to try on before committing to an online purchase.
Totally!
If you ever find yourself in Calgary, you can try them on at our store!
The main reason why they don’t have them in stores is to keep the prices consistent, and it keeps the resale high. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about buying one without trying it on. The dimensions and feel on wrist are spot on. I have a 356 acrylic and the only issue I had was with the original clasp, couldn’t get a good fit, but I ended up replacing it with the new adjustable one and now it fits perfectly!
@@Dialandhands - I've purchased one of my Sinn's from WatchBuys. They are a very reputable seller with great customer service.
Might be the only reason I don't own one.
I'm a big fan of almost everything Sinn does.
Brilliant watches, Nomos very good also😁👍
The salmon version of the 356 has been on my list for a while. It’s a stunner and has crazy details on the dial.
Wearing the 3 subdial 356 w/ acrylic crystal right now. By the way, you can get still get the “old” style w/ acrylic crystal and blasted finish as well as satin finish with sapphire crystal and the fine link bracelet.
"a tube of something when i rub one out with my watch?"
it is a bonding experience 💀
Keeps you from making that mistake that costs you another college education.
Absolutely love this, love how they have been able to fit the Chronograph without cutting the numbers … 38.5 mm is lovely
Have had my 103 St acrylic for almost 1 year now and am still super satisfied. Charming watch with the classic Valjoux 7750. Sinn makes great watches. No need for a speedy.
I have the same watch. And I'll be honest, once I put it on my wrist, my desire for a Speedy waned.
Another German chrono but with tremendous history is the Hanhart 417ES 39mm Flyback.
Love Hanhart. An even cleaner dial!
Mark 2 for me... unparalleled aviation history.
Awesome video, really great production.
The design and dial is pure germanic class. Im seriously considering the 103 titanium diapal as my ultimate chrono to finish my 3 watch collection.
I sold my Omega Reduced and got myself the Sinn 356 SA with sapphire crystal and see through case back. Such a joyful experience!!!
Hi Max,
You mentioned that the new Sinn 356 as an alternative to the Navitimer.
However, Sinn has true alternative to the Navitimer which is the 903. It would be nice to see a review on the latest Sinn 903.
Yes, I agree
I have a Sinn 903 with the Lemania movement and it is a beauty ! It won't be much last Sinn - they are a great brand.
@matthewgooch6892 Lucky you Matt,
I have been saving up for a Sinn 903. Sinn upgraded the 903 by removing the 2nd crown at 10.
@@tonyvera-cruz6422mine's a late 1990s one, Tony, so it doesn't have the 10 o'clock crown. Makes using the slide for so much easier when you don't have to turn a crown.
Did they not aqiure the righs from breitling to produce the navitimer under the Sinn brand?
Sinn is a great German watchmaker that nails it in every segment. Great value for money. If you are seeking for the better Navitimer check out the Sinn 903 …
I love Sinn. Started with the 104 white dial. Had the 103 Klassik 12. Currently have a U50 S BS and 155 S Bright Star Bundeswehr, love them both! I've considered the white panda dial 356 Klassik, really looks good. Im glad they finally uodated their clasp with yool free micro-adjust. You can buy separately or upgrade on a new watch purchase for certain bracelet models. They're slowly becoming standard to their watches.
So many great watches in the lineup
Picked up my Railmaster on Delray as well. The experience was good & I’m gathering funds for another purchase, hopefully soon. Not trying to “promote” or anything but the incoming stock is becoming more plentiful & the prices are great. Glad he’s finding success.
I got the denim Railmaster, so good.
Great seller!
As a fan of this channel and fan of Sinn - in my view a real fan is one that actually rises possible issues so that the brands can improve themselves - i added a comment earlier about issues with my own 356 (purchased with my own money) issues like counters not resetting, others having the hands falling off inside the watch, very long waiting times for servicing, etc. I don't see it anymore, was it deleted?
2:22 “rub one…” WAT!?!
He said it’s a bonding experience with his watch! Lol 😂😂😂😂😂
I love Sinn, especially the 104 st sa GMT but when it comes to Fleigers, Fortis has my heart and is what I flew with but I love much of what the German's build, guns, watches, cars. Thanks for sharing!
Had my eyes on the brown dial/black subdial Pilot Classic since they released last year. Absolutely stunning watch. These got me to check out the standard 356 and in love with both. One day...
At least they were both mechanical…..no “24 hr” dial 🤮. The older Sinn with 38.5 mm diameter…..Wow! I was a SAR pilot when I was young. Those 12 hr. totalizers were there for a reason. Fine review Max. Thanks!
I love the 356 original worn it for a couple years now. You describe it just right!
There is also the „normal“ 356sa which has the 12,6,9 configuration and ist completely brushed with a sapphire crystal. Perfect combination. Has been my daily watch for nearly 3 years now.
Cool watches, new and old. Wish they would have kept the date on the new one, and the old brass/gold rotor on the movements, but time moves on. Probably would go for the older one before the new one, but really like em both regardless. Thanks!
im sure being a German fighter pilot watch incarnation its more like chilling out in the pampas of Argentina or the jungle of Brazil rather than a jazz club in the city.
I like the Sinn, but look at the Damasko DC57 and DC56 on the bracelet. Outstanding!
Max, very good episode! Sinn Marks great watches. I have my 144 Ti from almost 20 years and it is perfect EDC for people who prefer chronographs. I have 356 on my radar, but new 903 change a bit my interest 😉
I'm wearing my Sinn EZM 13.1 as I watch this. Great lefty watch.
Love the speedy! However I cant wait for the video you make when getting the IWC ingenieur, love that watch, especially the aqua dial!
Sinn’s more inexpensive alternative to the Navitimer is the 903, slightly changed for this year (no crown @ 10:30). I have the previous version, love it!
Max, fantastic video and I love that you supported Federico. I also avoided the "historical" route and went Breitling B09 Pistachio over the speedy. Adds a splash of color and may not have gone to space, but sure gets a lot of compliments. Also, I like George Kern.
That's a classic! Nice 👍
Thanks for this video! I LOVE my Sinn 556 (my beater). Looks great, amazing movement considering the price (+1-3 secs/day), and fits perfectly on my small wrist. I loved the anniversary editions of the 356 ever since their first announcement, but could not get over the 15mm (sapphire) thickness, so I continue to hold off. If you notice, from day 1, 99.9% photos that are released are top view because Sinn knows 15-15.5mm is silly. But if they know, do something about it instead of hide it.
Great comments! Right now, I'm deciding on the 556a and 356. Like you, I just can't get over the 15+ in thickness. In 1996, Sinn made a 356 for the Japan market. It was a manual-hand wound movement which was 13.5 in thickness. Maybe they should bring back the Japan model or just work with Selitta to make the SW500 movement thinner.
I have the 856 UTC. Fantastic watch, abysmal clasp and zero on the fly adjustment.
I own a Sinn 556irs. It fits my 7.25 in wrist like a glove. It gets a lot of wristime because its so versatile.
I have the same one!
Congrats Max!! I was looking at that exact watch at Del Ray, it certainly was a good buy!! Enjoy!!
The 356 Sa already feels a bit more 'refined' (whatever that means) in that it has a brushed case as opposed to the blasted case of the acrylic version.
“Rub one out with my watch.”😂
Well, who hasn’t?
Had to 'rewind' that one a couple of times to make sure I heard what I thought I heard
Sinn only makes a couple things that appeal to me. The 556 I RS, which I honestly don't know why I haven't bought yet, and that new 903. I love the Navitimer B01, but not $10,000 worth. Plus it's a little too pretty/shinny for me. The 903 solves both of those problems, I think. The lugs are a little thicker and the crown is longer, making it look less delicate. And at around $4000 on the fine link bracelet, I'm sold.
congratulations on your new watch ;-) To my eye there is more IWC in it than Speedy … cool watch anyway.
Not my preference aesthetically, but the 130 looks a lot like the IWC Pilot Chrono, which I recently saw in person and it looked awesome.
There's also another alternative of Sinn 356 if you have tight budget, Seiko Sna139. In my opinion Sna139 is even better in the term of price point to value due to titanium material
About to get a Helm Vanuatu which is a diver inspired by Sinn. Very excited.
Great video. Lovely watches.
I actually prefer the older one. It’s great.
I think my favourite they do is the astronaut chrono is it the 140 something or other?
Love that watch
The 903 is Sinn's Navitimer. They have the trademark (shared with Breitling).
I have the ezm10 and I love it. In fact... I love German pilot chronos more than Swiss. Damasko, sinn, tutima, hanhart. I have 'm. The 356 is great, but the 103. Oh boy... ❤❤
Been eyeing the 356 for a while. Almost pulled the trigger on a copper dial last year but like you was nervous with the 15.5mm height. Thanks for the review.
The height looks scary in spec, but on wrist, it's not a problem. It looks right at home on my 6.5 in wrist.
@@waynejohnson3214 thanks. Petite wrist life can be tricky.
These are the first Sinns I’ve liked. They always falling into the “I just don’t get it” category for me, but these are hot.
The Sinn Navitimer is my favorite new Sinn!
Sinn has its own navitimer already the 903 as it bought the IP off a bankrupt Breitling in the 1970s. Ive Owned a sinn 756 for nearly a decade now and it still gets regular wrist time despite a growing watch collection
Sinn make some fantastic watches!! I do wish they spend a bit more time updating their clasps and adding a nice on-the-fly macro adj clasp though.
They just did. It's slowly making its way into their models.
@@khronokraze fantastic news!
The new 356 ticks all the boxes for me. It's definitely on the short list for my next purchase.
Sinn just released the new 903 a few weeks ago and that's truly the Navitimer alternative.
Sinn makes this in a sapphire crystal variant. I wish this model had the d3 waterproof pushers, then it would be perfect.
Been saying this for years. Watch was my grail for years. Got one used for a crazy value. It’s literally perfect
I tried on the Klassic Fleiger recently. It is excellent in the metal. I’m tending towards a Hanhart (which really should get a lot more love from enthusiasts), but it’s a coin toss between the 2.
As a Swiss I love Sinn. I own a diver U1. A real beauty.
I have been looking at Sinn for quite a while but cannot get past the thickness on most of their models.
Hello WatchCrunch and other viewers! Any opinions comparing between Sinn 356 and Omega 3220.50?
Beautiful watch with overall great specs. If they went hand-wound with this, and shaved a mil or more off the thickness, that would be a real winner in my book.
People who think they get history with a brandnew watch, seriously need to get away from all this marketing. Those Sinns look great, I would like to have either of them.
Awesome watch. Nice score. I like the older Sinn personally. Side note, what shirt/jacket is that? I love it.
Looks good on that zero pass strap.
I also recommend the Hanhart 417es
You should see the Sinn Navitimer...ironically it is what the Breitling should be...200m water resistance 😱 and half the price.
I truly think German watch making is going to grow exponentially in the coming decade, Sinn will benefit
Huge fan of the Sinn 356
Never been a Sinn fan I do adore German watches but for some reason the brand never appealed to me…that is until now. That Chrono is absolutely gorgeous.
tbh, if you would go for a navitimer than you would have the option to go for the sinn 903 ST 2
these two Sinn are wonderful looking
Excellent presenter, thank you.
I absolutely love Sinn. I would literaly buy a Sinn before a Rolex or Omega. I think I click with german horology. Sinn, Glashutte Original, Junghans and others.
I concur, but it's a 358 for me same as above at 42mm instead.
The lack of in house movement is an off the table factor for many people
IWC pilot chrono vibes!
Great watch, but i prefer the Hanhart Pioneer. Cheers
Hi Max: After watching your video on the 556a, I'm learning towards buying this model. However, the 356 is growing on me. Since you owned both, which one do you like better (556a or 356)? Thanks!
The Sinn 900 Pilot is an objectively better watch than the SpeedMaster (IMHO) and can be purchased for under $4300 NIB. Just compare the specs. 20 bar WR, Tegiment, AR sealed and heavily anti-magnetic.
Good discussion of the SINN. However, your title is misleading, I nearly did not open your video because the title is so vague.
Beautiful Watches!
I'm loving Sinn
What is this Delray store? can they ship to Canada? I think you've convinced me regarding the Sinn
It’s at the same price point as the reduce used speedy… idk which one I like more
More of a great type 20 or iwc replacement speedmaster is a different vibe
If they shaves some thrickness with the router off and manual wind. It would be more of an all time watch!!
What exactly makes manual wind an all time watch.
@@heinerjurgens5362 the current 356 is a bit thick, if they took the router off they can save the thickness. That’s all
@@bmt65 as said in the video. The thickness in this watch is not really noticeable.
@@heinerjurgens5362 yes it’s not. I have the 2001 limited edition grey dial. But I’m saying if it was thinner it’ll be GOAT
The older Sinn looks alot like the Tutima pilots watches.
the Sinn 903 II is even better
I really want to see the panda in the metal.
Did you buy it from Fed personally??
Sinn = The Rolex of Beaters!
The speedmaster you showed at 0:11, How did you get the 3861 SS Bracelet o fit the trilogy reissue ? Or does it go straight on ?
That's not the trilogy, it's the 40th anniversary
It’s not a $2000 speedmaster. It’s a Sinn. Not every watch is a cheaper version of something else. And it looks more like an IWC anyway
An evening at the jazz club?
Wait are you the guy trying to re-invent the NATO strap what are you hustling now lol
Antricite ruins it for me. Bracelet - great step-up. Envelope could use a modern look. Otherwise a great watch.
I want a 903!
I've got one and it's great ! Love Sinn
I think you missed Fortis in your list
Has really nothing to do with a speedmaster. It looks like an Iwc chrono from the 90’s ( really close actually ) comparing the second one to a breitling ? Not really. Do you know that sinn used to build navitimers
This used to be so much cheaper :/
The sinn I like is double the price.
love Sinn
What shirt/jacket shacket is that?
mamacoo is best watch factory!!!
SINN are amazing
