  • Hi everyone. Here is my video and unboxing of the Jansen FS-35 kinetic log splitter.
    I bought this from m.jansen-versa...
So i payed for it and sorted everything online. The online form was a little complicated as i couldn't put a postcode as it was wanting a zip code which the U.K doesnt have. Anyways i got by this by contacting jansen support via email and confirmed my delivery details.
3 or 4 days later i recieved a call from DSV courier service and arranged a delivery date. I had problems with DSV but eventually got the splitter delivered.
Then come the exciting part with assembling the log splitter as you can see in the video. I will be splitting a lot more wood with this beauty of a machine. Give a thumbs up if you like and comment if you have any additional questions.
    Thank you everyone.

The look on your face with the first cut was priceless. 5 years later and you're still at it. Great work and my friend.

You had no idea Jerry, this was revolutionary for me. It allowed me to split much much faster than an axe at the time 😄
Yes I still want to keep it going, the splitter is awesome.
Thanks for commenting on a video fro way back when 😆

I hope you have as much please as i do. I will be putting a time lapse of me splitting some rounds for everyone. It shouldnt be too long but show people how quick this machine is.
      Enjoy bud.

Gary Sims it sure is quick. Unlike anything i have seen in person. I had to witness a hydraulic splitter this week splitting wood and my god it was slow. I said, in the time it took to split that, i wouldve had it split in 4 and onto the next log.

Looks nice! I'd rather have a solid Maschine than a perfect paint job. Enjoy! Gee, what idiots give the wrong size bolts. But still, other things much more important!! You can get the bigger properly size bolts. Enjoy

Google1 User. Hi and thanks for your comment. Yes i 100% agree with a well built machine over a poor paint job but on the other hand its not just a couple hundred £ machine so there should've been some quality control to it.
I will be doing an update video on those things, like them wrong sized bolts haha thank you for watching my video and hopefully in the future ill be able to upload better quality videos. 😁

Hello Nick, thanks for the excellent videos I have been looking to buy one of these splitters myself.
Did you buy it direct from Jansen in Germany or from an agent company in this country?
    Cheers
    All the best
    Pat.

    • @everydaywithmenick

Hello Pat and thanks for the comment. Yes i bought direct from Jansen in Germany. It wasnt a bad process however some shipping information had to be confirmed as they asked for a zip code where as here in the UK its a postcode as you know. Other than that it was great service. Only gripe i had was when the courier in the UK came, it didnt have a forklift and they were told there was a fork lift on site. There wasnt and we struggled to get it off but did eventually. WARNING it is very heavy when on a pallet. I have heard of companys in the UK who sell these, so unsure which way you would prefer to go with it. I haven't regretted getting mine and if you watch the rest of my videos you will see how Jansen have been great with their customer services. Enjoy and thanks for watching.

Thanks for the prompt reply Nick. Have read that the after sales service from the main sales company over here is not great whereas the responses you have had from Jansen look like they could not be more helpful.
Is the splitter road towable or are the wheels just for moving it on site? It looks nice and easy to push around.
    Thanks
    Pat.

I couldn't comment on sales service from other resellers however the lad from Ireland sells them and other machines and he seems like he would take care of his customers. He also has his own house brand machinery too i believe. On facebook he is called Proarc ltd (im not affiliated with him by any means) the wheels and tyres have a 25kph in the manual, although they look very similar to my small trailer wheels which does national speed limits. I have had it to 60mph when towing to other places and all has been well. As always, ensure there is grease in the bearings and all should be good. Its easy enough to push however a jockey wheel wouldnt go a miss so you dont have to pick the nose up high. Hope this helps.

Hi, I've been looking to buy one of theses log splitters, but have read on a few reverently that some people having problems with the machine. Mainly with the shaft jumping off the rack or the handle getting stuck in the forward position. Have you had any issues with yours?

    • @everydaywithmenick
      @everydaywithmenick  4 года назад

Hi Celtic Firs. Let me first of all say, i appreciate you watching my video and check out the other ones for a bit more info. So, the splitter is in my opinion, unbelievably brilliant and fast. I will say i have had problems, one of which is the clutch spring, that has been replaced by Jansen, i emailed them and surely they got back in touch, asked for some info and boom, a spring was in the post and in my possession within a couple of days. Now to fit it. It was pretty simple and there wasnt instructions but there is an exploded diagram for parts. Now thats done, i am going to now be using it to split about 3 or 4 ton of pine fire wood.
I havent had an issue of the rack jumping as there is a guide roller and that keeps it in the right place. I have removed the safety handle on mine to speed up my process, yes its unsafe but im the sole user and i know its operation.
I arent going to say ive not had issues but what i will say is, Jansen have been great and responded promptly. I will post a follow up video of this machine and give more in depth review. Hope this helps.

Splitter is still splitting great, at some point ill be doing a video doing the replacement spring as that has been a problem for me within the clutch but other than that its been great. Ill be getting about 15 to 20 ton of wood this coming month or so, so that will all be split using the splitter.

For Germans to be so slack in proper bolts sizing and quantity and right manual for the type of the machine is appalling. Also packaging is not appropriate and welding looks like it is done by apprentice. Galvanizing left bubble marks ....
Looks only engineering side of the product is good, but the rest most certainly does not justify the price - or is it made in China ???
All in all disappointing in German manufacturing and carelessness .....
    Great post..... thanks for uploading

    • @everydaywithmenick
      @everydaywithmenick  6 лет назад +1

Thank you for your comment. I couldnt agree more with you regarding end product from a German company. I do have to think also, was it made in Germany or like you said over seas. I will say that the engineering of this splitter is solid. Its heavy, the parts used in regards to the operation is great. Ive now split around 7 tonne of wood. Varies from soft knotty to very hard cherry and it performed great. I even had a piece of wood that had grown into a 90 degree bend, impossible to split with an axe but was no problem for the splitter.
Ive sorted the problems, ie the bolts not being the right size and you would never have known otherwise. The manual was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. If i hadnt had a good understanding of mechanical knowledge, some people might have got confused. Anyways im more than happy with it and have done a job for someone else and now thinking about making it a little side business.
      Thanks again for your comment.

I'm glad that is working good for you and I have very similar plan .... That clutch is awesome .....and I will probably go for it. They say delivery is in the price so mine need to come from the dealer in England all the way to Ireland ( hopefully ).... with all the screws .....

I really liked the clutch system over the normal pinion gear onto the rack. Maybe a design that could be good long term or not, only time will tell im sure.
I hope you have as much joy with yours as i do with mine.
      Happy splitting.
