Together they have 2 daughters (Freja & Lucy) Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish. I think the overall information they have gotten so far,is with Floor,Marko and Tuomas being mentioned the absolute most,so its understandable. But Chad was excited over seeing Jukkas passion and tricks on the drums,so i feel like it weighed up abit,and them saying "they ALL are great!"

The Ghost River is a river of no return. The song is part of the album/film music Imaginaerum. The main character is dying and has to decide whether to continue drifting or to fight against his trauma one last time.
If you havent heard Marco sing by himself, you'll have to take a listen to "The Islander". The live version from Tampere where he sings while the band takes a little break.

Floor is the type of person that bursted out into genuine laughter,and she actually loved it soo much,she used that bucket as an extra "briefcase" on her tour with Nightwish,where she put alot of her stuff in,and was rolling with it from one venue to another. That tells you just how amazing of a personality she has. Someone else might have taken offence to it and caused a scene,but she saw the humour in it and absolutely loved it. There is noone quite like Floor,personality wise,vocal wise,performing wise and so on. Shes just a massive chefs kiss! I loved hearing how Lulu has fallen in love with everything involving Nightwish,she can of course enjoy this performance by herself when she has the time and wants to. Nightwish has that magic about them,you will find kids,teens,young adults,adults and elderly people at theyr concerts. Its a family type of metal band. I know my own mom passed just a few years after they started as a band,so she sadly never got to experience them. But i know she would have fallen completely in love with this band. And here is the funfact: It took me alot to even get her into metal/hardrock music. It was not genres she would listen to at all,as it was too noisy for her. But i managed with time to ease her into some Metallica songs,some KISS etc. I know that Nightwish would have made her a supporter,and that says alot. As they bring in an atmosphere,sounds that you dont find in metal or heavy metal music,and the vocals arent all just screams and growls,its a little bit of everything.

One good song that you haven't yet reacted to would be NW cover of Walking in the Air. There's an old video from year 2000 when Tarja was still the lead singer. The image quality is a bit blurry by modern standards but audio is good. You can find the correct video with the title "Nightwish - Walking In The Air (Live at Pakkahuone) [HD]". That song has no orchestra background tracks and all the members are obviously a couple of decades younger but ther's no lack of skill even in that performance.

Now when u guys have a taste for floor, you should try to listen the song from the first singer; Floor is Nightwish's third singer, you should listen Nightwish - Phantom of the Opera cover with the Singer Tarja Turunen, their original singer.
I'd definitely recommend checking Marko Hietala out in his own band, Tarot, a cherished institution on the Finnish heavy metal scene, who debuted in 1986 and whose biggest hit is "Wings of darkness". Their sound is, well, 80s heavy metal with a dramatic vibe, like Dio and Iron Maiden, with a hint of eerieness and melancholy - much like Nightwish and Finnish metal bands in general. Somewhat ironically, Marko has turned out to be way harder to replace in Nightwish than any of their female main singers. When he decided to step down indefinitely, for personal reasons (he has released a rather good solo album since then), his absence left a massive hole in the Nightwish live persona. Finding a new bass player obviously wasn't hard - in Finland you couldn't throw a rock without hitting a great heavy metal musician. And for male vocals, the band passed that job on to their sixth member: Englishman Troy Donockley, a multi-instrumentalist who handles all the Celtic traditional instruments that spice up the Nightwish sound. But it obviously has not been the same. Marko is not "merely" a great singer and bassist: he's just so insanely charismatic that his absence could never go unnoticed. Without any intended disrespect whatsoever: Nightwish's current bassist is already in the process of starting a new band, and I think we're all hoping for Marko to reclaim his rightful place in Nightwish once they resume touring for their tenth studio album, which is going through its final mix and getting ready for release as we speak.

One of the best NW metal songs. With the departure of Marco, I do not see how NW will ever be able to play this live unless Jukka Koskinen (the new bassist) can take over the male vocals. There is no way Troy can handle them and it would not be as impactful if Floor sings both parts. However, given the NW direction toward folk music, maybe it will just fade into history.
If you wish to react on Floor’s solo cover performances you should definately do ”Shallow” and ”Oblivion”. I guarantee that you won’t regret. Some music professional reactors has even said that Floor beats up Lady Gaga on her own game, when singing that ”Shallow”. I know that is pretty bold to say 😁
Not fair no mentions about Emppu - guitarist and Jukka - drummer, only beacause they dont sing. Emppu is composer of a few song of Nightwish. He is funniest and joyful in the band.Jukka is phenomenal drummer. I have never seen so expressions of any drummer in my life. It is harder be more notable when you just sitting on chair. They've have had 3 world class guitar players (Emppu, Marko & Troy) since forever, but indeed Emppu is enough most of the time

One good song that you haven't yet reacted to would be NW cover of Walking in the Air. There's an old video from year 2000 when Tarja was still the lead singer. The image quality is a bit blurry by modern standards but audio is good. You can find the correct video with the title "Nightwish - Walking In The Air (Live at Pakkahuone) [HD]".
That song has no orchestra background tracks and all the members are obviously a couple of decades younger but ther's no lack of skill even in that performance.
Many metal bands have 2-3 guitarists but NW only has Emppu. And you still never feel like their songs were missing any extra guitars.

This song is about finding hope despite adversity. The lyrics follow a person struggling against the wild, unpredictable nature of life and the dark forces of oppression. The first verse describes the wild and unpredictable nature of a river and the courage and perseverance necessary to navigate it. The pre-chorus emphasizes the pain of being a “child of rape” and how the power of hope can provide strength, while the chorus focuses on how the river brings suffering but also the potential to rise above it. I'd definitely recommend checking Marko Hietala out in his own band, Tarot, a cherished institution on the Finnish heavy metal scene, who debuted in 1986 and whose biggest hit is "Wings of darkness". Their sound is, well, 80s heavy metal with a dramatic vibe, like Dio and Iron Maiden, with a hint of eerieness and melancholy - much like Nightwish and Finnish metal bands in general.
Somewhat ironically, Marko has turned out to be way harder to replace in Nightwish than any of their female main singers. When he decided to step down indefinitely, for personal reasons (he has released a rather good solo album since then), his absence left a massive hole in the Nightwish live persona. Finding a new bass player obviously wasn't hard - in Finland you couldn't throw a rock without hitting a great heavy metal musician. And for male vocals, the band passed that job on to their sixth member: Englishman Troy Donockley, a multi-instrumentalist who handles all the Celtic traditional instruments that spice up the Nightwish sound. But it obviously has not been the same. Marko is not "merely" a great singer and bassist: he's just so insanely charismatic that his absence could never go unnoticed.
Without any intended disrespect whatsoever: Nightwish's current bassist is already in the process of starting a new band, and I think we're all hoping for Marko to reclaim his rightful place in Nightwish once they resume touring for their tenth studio album, which is going through its final mix and getting ready for release as we speak.
It is said, that the song is about a group of children having to cross a river. Marko (the devil) and Floor (Gaia) are struggling for the children's lives.
How about High Hopes from Pinkfloyd performed by Nightwish (MARKO!!!) - just bread delivery.
Take a look to the Channel of Floor Janson. And maybe songs like „Shallow“ sung by Floor.
No egotrippers in Nightwish, would be difficult anyway, because they are not a jam-band.
They play their compositions with more or less orchestral backingtracks etc.

One of the best NW metal songs. With the departure of Marco, I do not see how NW will ever be able to play this live unless Jukka Koskinen (the new bassist) can take over the male vocals. There is no way Troy can handle them and it would not be as impactful if Floor sings both parts. However, given the NW direction toward folk music, maybe it will just fade into history.
If you wish to react on Floor’s solo cover performances you should definately do ”Shallow” and ”Oblivion”. I guarantee that you won’t regret. Some music professional reactors has even said that Floor beats up Lady Gaga on her own game, when singing that ”Shallow”. I know that is pretty bold to say 😁

Not fair no mentions about Emppu - guitarist and Jukka - drummer, only beacause they dont sing. Emppu is composer of a few song of Nightwish. He is funniest and joyful in the band.Jukka is phenomenal drummer. I have never seen so expressions of any drummer in my life. It is harder be more notable when you just sitting on chair. But not for Jukka
