I have a Maytag Centennial washer and these methods worked perfectly. It saved me a lot of time as I was approaching removal from the back side of the washer instead of the front. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. After days of searching viseos and manuals you are the FIRST who explained this properly.
Thanks for making this. Just helped me make my way to the pump to remove my baby girl's sock. Saved me money right before Christmas.
Now please show us how to remove the front panel of the machine.
Just what I needed, I had no clue. First try was rough, cut thumb and swearing, then I used a screwdriver shank to compress the spring from underneath and tipped the panel up at the same time, made It pretty easy. Fixed my door switch In one hour thanks to you.
Super helpful. Just used your video to help me get into the head unit of my 19 year old dryer to replace the circuit board. Much appreciation to you!
Just what I needed. Thank you for taking the time to help others!
Oh my gosh!! You just saved me from having to make a service call!!! Spatula technique worked perfectly for me!! 7 years later and your video is still helpful!!! Big thank you!!
Thank you. EXCELLENT video and camera work. All other vids were advising to just wedge a flathead under the front of the panel and pop the clamps open. WRONG ! All that was doing s starting to crack the silver faceplate of the control panel. Your video was soooooooo much better !
I could not had done it without this video! The scapula worked the best.
Thank You! Just got one of these that was used in a summer home for my fabric studio. Needed to bypass the lid switch, couldn't have done it without this video showing how to flip up the top panel.
After watching other videos that seemed to drag on I found yours. I too was lucky as one suspension rod had slipped and I easily reconnected. Thank you for a helpful, concise how to video.
Thanks. This was difficult to figure out without knowing what was where. Your video was very clear and helpful.
Very nice and clear video explaining how to open the panel and showing exactly how the clips work. I watched another video that, if I'd followed his advice, would have sent me down a rabbit hole of disassembly.
Thank you for posting that. All a guy needs is the right info and strong thumbs and the cover was off providing the access I needed to remove the control board.
Thank you. Your video was the only straight forward video to help me open my 2008 maytag performa washer. Now I can try to figure out why it won't dispense water
We needed the info on the metal clip. You helped us be successful! Thank you!
THANK YOU!!! Had to go through so many videos til I finally found something that worked! Second method is best!
Thank you so much!!! I had such a hard time finding a video to match my washer and this was perfect.
I have this exact same washer. I replaced the lid switch a few years ago after the cheap plastic tension clip gave out. Ever since the lid wouldn't engage the switch reliably. I blamed the bad design of the switch because it does not seat tightly in the hole in the washer top (if you've replaced it, you know what I'm talking about). For years, my wife and I have been Fonzie style hammer punching the top of the washer near the switch to get it to engage. I finally got around to installing a new switch just now and it didn't help. Then I noticed the metal rod that engages the switch is held by two small screws in the lid. The screws were just a tiny-ensy weensy bit loose. I tightened those screws and BAM. The switch engages like a charm. We've been punching the crap out of this washer for years because of two tiny, barely loose screws.
I had to tell the internet. So there. Done.
And nice vid btw. It helped remind me how to get to the lid switch.
I'm not sure why anyone would dislike this video. Thanks!
Option two is much easier. Thanks for this video, I saw so many showing that I needed to remove screws and whatnot from the back, which I did not.
I have the matching Maytag dryer med5801tw0 electric dryer your explanation of those clips holding the control panel down was a HUGE help. Thanks!
Thank you that was very clearly explained same as the comment below me I searched other videos but couldn't figure out how to get the control panel up
I just did this after watching your video. You are the man.
Tremendous video, I changed the switch in less than 3 minutes. Spent more time vacuuming dust behind the washer. Thanks!!
I just used method 2. Brilliant video. Exactly what I needed. Thanks
Lots of these on RUclips... This one was THE BEST for showing how to work with those clips under the Console ! THANKS!
Thanks. This is the only video that I found that shows this type of connection and how to remove the control panel. It's a neat design, it's just a shame that maytag makes these machines with hidden fasteners and hides this information from the customers. I will probably never buy from maytag/ whirlpool because of this.
Thank you so much. The water level rotary switch got stuck. Your video showed me how to properly access the switch after which I was able to adjust it so it doesn't hang up!!
Thank you! I've spent the past two days trying to figure this out.
Tx for video! I was going nuts and talkin to myself over this clip! I took the washer apart and made the repairs needed and was done except for the beeping clips! Tx again for post this before I hit the bottle lol!
Once again, you have saved my behind. Method 2 that I used before nearly worked, so the Method one lesson taught me what to do when it does not! It is sad we even need these videos at all. But you come through for us!
Thank you very much for making this video! You saved me a lot of time! I had to replace the main Control Board. I bought a used part from eBay . And my washing machine has been working great for about a month now!
I hope you are OK . I noticed you haven't made any videos recently.
THANK YOU!!!!! I've been trying to figure this out and I couldn't find any other videos to show me. I really appreciate you taking the time to make this.
This and $30 in parts saved me over $150 for service call. Thanks!
Great video, They sure are super sneaky, they don't want us in there do they? But you have 2 sneaky ways to get in. LOL. Thanks
I tried method one, hit a spider web, yanked my hand out (by instinct) a sliced open 2 inches of my wrist today. After I cleaned up the wound and all the blood, I ended up using method two lol Next time I'll wear my gloves so I don't have that problem again! I'm super grateful for this video, thank you so much!
SPIDERS!!! Nobody can blame you for the freak out! Sorry to hear you got a battle wound but it sounds like you got it done in the end.
Plastic spatula?!? GENIUS!
Thank you. I hate working in these blasted machines. The spatula method worked best for me.
Thank you for sharing. Although when you said it is a pain to get those clips out, you were correct!
i thought the sarcasm @ the end was the best part but thanx that methods helped!!!
GREAT video! Thank you!! I was at it for a few hours until I searched and searched and found your video. It's the only video that helped!! Thanks again!
B, OMG spent 3 hours trying to get the front panel open! Thanks for the tip mine had the clips worked great!
Thanks for the info on this washer. Saved us alot of time and money by being able to get the part and change it out oursleves.
1st method Worked like a charm!!! Thanks
Thanks for the video. I couldn't figure out how to remove the panel because there aren't any visible screws.
Thank you! Your video was just what was needed to get to that control switch 👌💪
Thanks for this video, exactly what I needed!!!
Awesome video. Precise and to the point.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I already tried the first method but I don't have enough strength 💪 in my fingers, so I'm gonna try the second one.
Good job...your helping people..thank you!
Thanks and Merry Christmas !!
thank you very very ... much!!!
I have to replace the Swtch-Temp, now it will be very easy!
Very helpful and to the point. Thanks.
Method 2 worked great!! Thank You!!
Thanks!!!!! Great video...saved me so much time
Method 2 is a good one
any ideas on how to get to the water intake valve?? I need to place it in my maytag but the back is a solid piece of metal....
Thank you Adam. God bless.
Well made video. Thanks for putting this up.
Thank you!!! This video was exactly what I was looking for
Very helpful, Thanks.
Thank you. Used a combo of method 1 and 2.
Thank you! Now if only there was a way to get these clips out without busting my knuckles when they slip out of my hand. haha
HOLY SMOKES!!!! Thank you so much for your GREAT video!!!!
Thank you for this video
Great instructional video... thanks.
Thanks I just fixed my washer using method 2. Thank you.
Great tutorial. Thank you buddy
How do you open the top of the washer after this part? Thanks.
Very helpful thank you
Perfect, thanks.
Worked on a Bravos XL. Was not able to get a spatula underneath, so scratches on the top from the metal spatula. Next time maybe I'll try to put some tape down. Or maybe I just wasn't holding the start button long enough. Nah, couldn't be that.
I have watched so many RUclips clips to see how to fit back the two white clips on the console box , none even mentioned about the 2 white locking clips in a Kenmore washer
Muchísimas gracias, bien explicado
Thank you so much man!!!!!
thank you very helpful
Oh man, I should've kept watching. I used channel locks to squeeze the clips. I broke the lid switch retention clips on the left side (cheap plastic). If this happens, you can shove a pencil into the switch and hold it there with a wire bread tie until your new switch arrives. Go straight to spatula. I was fooled as some of these use a putty knife to pry up the panel, not this style!
Thanks man!
Thankyou very much that helped alot
Thanx for the assist. I rigged the severely corroded door switch, machine drains. Should work fine without a door switch.... Yeah, I know, famous last words
i will try with the spatula. Hope you still look at these comments once in a while it was a good video thank you but I need to know is how to fix the. I don’t know what it is. I’ll have to go look.
Hey Adam, that was very informative for me as I am trying to remove the outer casing because the left panel on the far bottom got bent and it came loose. So, I am trying to figure out a way to bang out the dent and replace the panel back so that I can screw it back in. It is an old Maytag Dependable care washer. Model no. MTW5700TQ0 and I can not find one video that shows you how to do that on this particular model. Hope you can help.
THANK YOU!
Great video. Thank you
use a large flat screw driver under the console lip and pop it up just like forever on washers/drayers
Haven't tried yet, but looks doable even for a clutz like me.
Thank you very good explaination, well made!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks alot you helped me🌹
Can u show us how to open the panel on the whirlpool dryer please?!
Have to pull timer knob multiple times before the machine starts, other times on 1st or 2nd pull. Replace timer?
Thank you Sir
Thank you ! ! !
The video was very helpful. My question is, the knob only, broke off on the water level control, does the whole thing need to be replaced or is there a way to just replace the knob? Appreciate your help.
Did the stem break off inside the knob? If so you will need to buy a new switch. If it's just the knob that is broken you can get a replacement knob. Many times other brands will fit.
Yes, it was the stem. Thanks for your quick reply.
@@AdamDIY how do you lift the lid to get to the drum?
Damn I forgot my nonstick spatula 😂😂😂
Help!! As you warned, I dropped the spring clip. Anyway to retrieve???
I think maybe its time to get a replacement as this one is almost as old as me ha ha
This is exactly like mine, I need to replace the timer and watched several other videos but cannot get the knob off, wondering if you know how?
