To clarify a few things!
During the ear tests the only sound is coming from the earbuds (there is no background music being played in post during those clips).
I just used the same royalty free song during the rest of the video in the edit to integrate it together in a fun way I thought 🤷♂️
Also of course the ear test isn’t going to show you what they sound like exactly (actually trying to figure out how to make a better version) but I figure it is at least better to have a way for you to hear SOMETHING rather than nothing.
As far as the ANC on the new AirPods, they feel subtlety better than the old models to me as a non-audiophile using it in the real world BUT the old models had such good ANC already so improving on that at all is great.
Also, the sound quality is definitely better (you can even hear this at least in the ear tests with how much more tinny the old ones sound when compared to the new ones).

Have you tried running a fit check to make sure the earbuds are getting a good seal in your contraption?
@@illuminati229 That was my thought as well. Looks like the other earbuds tested (bar the AP2) didn't fit in the ear concha well, resulting in background noise being introduced...

Are you not going through the audio drift and sinking issues? I don’t know how people are missing this issue. I’ve literally been able to reproduce it on every single second generation, AirPods Pro I’ve encountered. Three i’ve personally replaced through Apple. 10 through friends and family that let me test theirs.
Would be nice to hear your opinion on noise cancellation compared to the others , just hearing it ourselves online is not what I would call sufficient enough to make a buying decision

I’ve heard some other online tests, and for reference, the APP2 block almost literally all sound compared to stuff like the wxm4
From this video it seems like the new APP blow any competitors out of the water in terms of ANC

Same here. I was getting that crackling issue and my stem controls wouldn’t work anymore. Plus the battery life sucked so it was time for an upgrade and I’m loving them so far!

I got them yesterday and they sound way better than the original pros! It really does have better noise cancellation which is crazy to me cause it was already so good on the og’s . I love the new added features of precision finding on the case and the fact you can play the sound from the actual case is a God send!! I’m so ready to take a flight or be in a very noisy environment so I can test out the ANC as well

@@ahsannauman8401 the battery life is good and they feel nice and it helps to cancel the noise around you so I 100% recommend getting the AirPods Pro’s 2

I like the idea of comparing the earbuds in the ear canal with the microphone, but you can visibly tell that the 1st gen AirPods Pro we’re not as sealed into the ear canal as the 2nd gen, making the 1st gen sound terrible (they’re also the same shape). I would’ve liked to see a 100% fair review to decide if I’d like to upgrade
I agree i also notice AirPods pro 1 slightly out of the ear. Take a test again with correct fittings of both. @theunlockr

The ANC is really amazing compared to the other ones
The ear audio simulation test you done with the buds makes absolutely no sense. I presume the mic is in the ear canal so why is there a tinny sound on all modes?

i really like this style, i felt included in the whole process of the video. i’m still on gen 1 airpods pro but similarly i had to make sure my audio was coming from my phone when i was looking around with spatial audio enabled, subtle but it’s scary how fast these things get better

I just bought my pro gen 2 yesterday, and I gotta say… I expected more from the ANC.
PS loved the history lesson in the middle of the vid :)
One thing I liked a lot more than I expected on these earbuds is the Adaptive mode. Especially great for riding the bus while standing up or waiting for the bus on the side of the road when I still want to be aware of my surroundings but don’t want it to be too loud and still want to be aware of my surroundings.
These are the update the AirPods Pro needed and they still have the best transparency mode out there , Sony and Bose still have superior ANC, battery life and probably sound quality though that's more subjective but still these are the best for Apple users obviously.

I was a little bit disappointed about the noise cancelling after the good reviews. Yes, it is slightly better. But not more. Advertised 2x better sounds great, but our hearing is just not linear. So, in the end it feels like much less better.

Since I live in the city (Sweden not America) and my brother does not managed to sell my AirPods Pro to him so I could get these new ones for myself

got the pro gen 2's 2 days ago and holy moly, these are a lot better than my galaxy buds 2 pros! Especially when paired with apple music. The noise cancellation and transparency modes are a lot better
The ANC on the new airpods pros are something else. Not sure if what’s heard on video translates to in-ear experience so would love to get your thoughts on them when you show it. Regardless, great video as always!

Would you say they’re better than or just as good as the AirPods Max? The ANC on my Maxes are amazing and but I can still hear some on my AirPods Pro 1

What would you compare the AirPod pros 2 to the Sony XM4s (the headphones)
What I am missing is focus on call quality in the tests. Many people are working at home and like to use true Wireless earphones as their main headset. In quiet conditions and inside your own room every! Earpod performs well. But what when you're outside and get some wind or a noisy environment.
I watched a (German) mic test video and the call quality in windy conditions was very very awfull! The Pro 1 (I also own) are even worse but I hoped my Pro 2 performs well like the Airpods 3 do. But they don't.
This is a great pity because the rest of the Pro 2 is great. I like the new transparency mode and the fit.
Picking mine up today. I tried the first gen and did not like them, as there wasn’t enough bass for me. I heard that has been improved with these. The transparency mode on the first gen was awesome, and with the upgrades I am excited. I have been using anker soundcore life p3 and I thought those sounded better than the first gen, and I also use the soundcore q30 headphones. I mainly want the compatibility of jumping from my phone, to ipad, to mac and back with the airpods.
i was in the exact same situation as you except i never had gen 1's. started out with the soundcore life p3's as well and then got the airpods pro 2 and its a world of a difference. theres such better audio quality and features and ease of use. only thing i miss from the life p3's is cranking up the bass on spotify and it being super bass heavy but it obviously distorted sound quality

Good Job 🎉. I think they are worth the upgrade because of all the combined new features, like find my in the case, better sound, better bass😊, better battery life, volume regulation not only on the Phone.
Sometimes I found myself laying on the floor listening in absolute Silence where I Think 🤔 one of the AirPods dropped on the floor…or was it on the Sofa 😂.. or where I put the f…. Case again.???😂

Three of The changes they added are the changes I needed. Volume control, tracking case, speaker on the case. Everything else is just cherry on top 😊.

This would have been a valuable in flight test if the music wasn't played. It's difficult to judge especially the ANC of these earbuds are not played back to back

Great review as always. Probably would not upgrade to be honest. What I was really looking for was the ability to stream lossless without the audio being squeezed :) So for me, I will wait for Air Pods Pro 3 :)

Nah, the only big changes that is practical is the volume touch controls. It's not worth an upgrade if you already owned a Gen 1. For newcomers, hell yeah Gen 2 ofc

My Gen 2's arrive today. I'll be testing them while mowing which is my main reason for upgrading. Use them with ANC on (the most) when mowing and snow blowing. Gen 1's were great, hoping Gen 2 will be even better. Thanks for the review!

@@trevorkozii I did some snowblowing this week and I feel that the Gen 2's are definitely a little better than Gen 1's with Noise Cancellation. Not monumental but I can tell the difference and it is better/quieter.

Hmmm, maybe you should if you like the improvement of ANC on the new Airpods Pro 2 and additional improvements in a different part of Airpods, I don't know why, but I think Apple brought in some overhaul in the latest Airpods Pro 2.

Overall, a well rounded review. However, I have an issue with comparing a new device wth used devices.
Anyone have the infamous lid/hinge wobble or squicky sound cause when i unpacked my APP2 first time buying apple airpods and i noticed the lid moved abit is it normal ?
I was expecting a video comparing the ANC while flying using the Gen 1 in one ear and the Gen 2 in the other so you could tell us which was better. Maybe someone else can do that in a future video as I’m interested in whether these can replace my Bose Quiet Comfort wired buds for flying
