All I want for Christmas is a new Q-man upload
Those noodles made me really hungry - I especially love udon - so the jajamen looked like something I'd absolutely love to try. Munching some of those lovely dishes after a day's hike in the mountains sounds like a little slice of paradise to me. I look forward to more videos like these, and any others about the city of Morioka itself, as it's a great compliment to the videos of the stunning landscapes in the area you show us.
In case you're not posting another video before the end of the year, let me take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year and to thank you for all the beautiful content you've made this year.
Thanks so much! And Happy New Year to you!!
Thanks for this Quinlan. I originally created the English Wikipedia pages for Morioka Reimen and Morioka Jajamen. It's great when people bring light to these amazing dishes.
Hey wow! Thank you for your service!
Hi Quinlan, Wow, such a different video today. I really enjoyed it. Your enthusiasm and energy make such a difference to the usual. Hope you decide to make more of these along with your beautiful excursions up into the mountain ranges. ⛰️
Thanks! I really appreciate that!
It's OK Quinn...
You can always show us the restaurants another day - when they're not so crowded.
Enjoy watching your videos as always :)
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I really liked the jajamen at Pairon even though I only ate it once! Not spectacular but really really comforting and pretty well balanced nutritionally!
Nice! I also liked it the first time, though I admit I wasn't in love, it was definitely good!
Loved this!
So glad you liked it, thanks!!
🙏🙏👍👍
Thanks!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it!
Wanko felt like a gimmick to me personally. I also found it quite stressful 😂
Ahahaha, yeah I guess having someone stand over you basically forcing you to keep eating at a certain pace could be stressful!
Please do an episode on Sake! I loved this one.
Ah, can do! Thanks!
yes pls!
my last trip in 2017 was in Kanazawa at Fukumitsuya, fun trip ✌️
@@GoNorthJapan oh man, if there's one thing I regret about my Tohoku trip 2 years ago it was that I didn't find out about the amazing sake up north until I got to Tokyo. My favourite breweries are now all from Akita, Iwate and Fukushima 😅
Your videos and your personality have a calming quality for me. Thank you for your work. ❤️
Thanks so much!!
I'm not a religious man. I don't believe in god. But if there was one, he'd be so happy with you. Maybe you're secretly a dick :) but it's so soothing to watch you and you seem to be such a kind and kindred folk. I wish I could get a tour with you some Day!
If you come to the Morioka area, could definitely guide you!
Good to see your new post.
Thanks!
This was great fun!
Glad to hear it!!
Banging Video mate 👍 I loved Morioka! It has so much to offer.
Thanks!! Yeah- Morioka is great!
Thank you for the awesome and so informative video! Would love to try out all those places! Don't worry that you couldn't make the video inside of restaurants - perfectly understandable!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
It is a pleasure, as always, to hear local stories from the less known corners of Japan. My wife are now talking about next winter's Japan trip and Iwate once again is in the conversation (we loved our first visit). I have noted the name and location of Sakamoto Liquor. We will soon be off on this year's adventure to Oita, Saga and Nagasaki.
Oooh, Kyushu has so many great spots as well! Enjoy!
I would love more videos like this! Especially. if you can bring yourself to do them in restaurants.
I'll do my best!
To film in restaurants and bars, I suggest contacting the owners and asking if you could film to present their dishes, drinks, and establishment.
Yeah, definitely!
Go and see if you can partner up with Nic from Junk Food Japan and challenge him to a Wanko Soba battle! After shouting ITTADAKIMASU!!1 at the top of your lungs inside a restaurant once, chances are just asking to film there will be a walk up Mt. Iwate for you - just another week's work, basically.
Ahahahaha, a couple years ago Nick and I had plans to make a few videos together up in Morioka, but some scheduling conflicts came up and we never made it happened. I will try to reach out to him again sometime soon.
I really hate my gluten intolerance sometimes… Great to learn about the dishes though. Thankyou
I hear you. I have heard that some people are able to eat small amounts of gluten in Japan because of the lack of chemicals or engineering in the way the grains are grown hear.. (no ROUNDUP, etc.) but of course that's just anecdotal...
@@GoNorthJapanI have a friend who is gluten intolerant but was able to eat bread products in Europe with no problems, so I think there is an impact of the processing.
Who is that man at 9:19? I think he might have my wallet.
Suspicious Germans are everywhere in the mountains up here....
It’s Michael Werker, obviously!
