Checking Codes Without a Scanner! Second Gen Dodge Ram

A simple and easy way to check your trouble codes! This may not be entirely specific…
This will work on Dodge, Jeep and other Chrysler vehicles from the 90s and 2000s.
Confirmed vehicles include:
2nd Gen Dodge Ram pickups
2nd Gen Dodge Dakota and Durango
Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee

Thanks so much. I’ve never seen that second one before and it worked. I have a ‘99 1500 5.2L. I’ve never been able to get that 1st trick to work. Wonder if it’s cause it’s basic as it gets, not even cruise control or even power windows 😆. 214k miles still rolling. 🤘. Came across your video since I’ve been chasing an intermittent abs/break light for almost 3 years. (It’s not the speed censor).

Thanks for the video I have a 2000 24 valve you mentioned the p1693 popping up other than that it was running great I can’t seem to get it started after this code popped up would you have any suggestions

You’ll need a code reader. That’s a generic code, so I couldn’t tell you that one.

Yes, sadly this is available for 1998 and higher vehicles.

@@66Oliver Does the second test also reset any existing codes that are present? Id like to run both tests, but dont want to clear the codes if there are some present.
