    Good job. I know people are going to say..get rid of it. But, they are masters of taking stuff most of us would just throw up our hands and walk away from, and turning it into something beautiful and functional. Have faith in them and the process. They are a deserving family. Be kind. Bless you Doug, Eveve and children.

    🌺We feel your pain in following the flooring underlayment. But, also agree that it’s no surprise how water spreads out. You’ve done a good job on the other home and this one will turn out great, too!
    We had a dishwasher slow leak from a split drain at the back and it traveled under the wood flooring and also a back door threshold leak that spread all through the kitchen and into our family room. Had to redo subfloors and even three joists and two feet up the door frame. We kept going until wood was dry and no mold just like you two. It kept us busy through C19 shutdown. Was a huge project but we loved doing it together and ended up with an open floor plan. We added a kitchen island, removed pony wall, added a floor outlet, relocated dishwasher, put down waterproof luxury vinyl planks, and added a full glass back door with internal blinds. It’s beautiful and so much more light! My husband and I love doing yard and home projects together. Blessings from VA❤️

    It's Florida. EVERYTHING molds! My parents and my sister's family both lived in the Tampa area. Each house they bought either started out with mold or eventually molded, particularly any non-air conditioned out buildings. And car engines rust. Something to keep in mind if you don't want to air condition your home. I remember in my sister's house, she had air conditioning, but of course the closets had closed doors and then the wallboard inside them and the clothing mildrewed. Like they say, it's not the heat - it's the humidity. -

    I like demolition, until it turns into a much bigger repair than expected. You’ve had lots of practice with exactly this type of mess before so you already know exactly what and how to do everything. And still being young, you can do it easily! Things to be thankful about. 👍💕

    Well mold is sneaky stuff. But Doug thrives on a challenge. It’s how we learn to tackle a project we don’t know about. Perseverance can pay off. Besides it makes for great content. In the end it will be worth it. Mold loves the paper backing on drywall. I would’ve kept a sink always good to have a place to wash brushes and hands. That’s just my thoughts not a criticism

    The ex-bathroom would make an excellent place to store bulk items, craft supplies, extra tools, stuff you don’t use all the time. The other thing you might want to consider is a BIG sink to wash up paint brushes, clothes that are used for projects/cleaning, etc. I know you didn’t want to do any plumbing, but a cleanup area is essential when you do crafts, art work, projects…like you guys do all the time. Something to think. Can’t remember if one of Eevee’s hobbies was photography…this room would make a great ‘dark room’. So many possibilities! 😊❤️

    Yay....my favorite morning video to enjoy with my coffee! Good that you are concentrating on this new project.....you need the storage badly and best to fix this before you start storing items in there. Then once repaired...you will have a safe area for your storage needs as well as a protected area to put your supplies when storms come up quickly. So I'm glad to see you tackle this now. You will have it ship shape in no time! Thanks for taking us along in the process! ❤

    I'm not surprised that you have found more hidden damage. Every construction office trailer I ever worked in received zero maintenance. Several trailers had a 1/2 sheet of plywood on the floor in front of the door because the neanderthals who worked in it before me wouldn't close the door to keep the rain out. It almost seemed the workers were seeing how much damage they could do without overtly smashing the structure.

You can always do it the off-the-grid way using a 5 gallon container with a pump faucet and a 5 gallon receptacle for the gray water. Just a thought to avoid having to run into the house to wash-up. It's possible the reason you seem to discover more damage than anticipated is - well, you actually look for damage. With a house you take it down to the studs as you research leaks, issues from inferior plumbing, poor upkeep, etc. That's your choice and the correct way to proceed. Most people would not be so thorough and driven. That is also why so many of your Subscribers have stated they could reside in a home renovated by Eevee and Doug - myself included. That type confidence is earned and definitely deserved by Eevee and Doug. That caliber of quality work is extremely rare.

    I’m not surprised at the amount of mold and wood decay you are finding in your rehab project. It is after all Florida. Plus it’s not like these mobile homes were built with quality construction material in the first place.

    • @diyfferent
      @diyfferent  20 часов назад

      They are built with decent materials. It's not much different than any site-built home. They just use some different building techniques to keep the building light and strong enough for transport. The mold and rot is all due to roof leaks and is not a Florida issue at all.
      Here is the video where we introduce and tour the building and explain the leaks that caused the damage: ruclips.net/video/pUpFIvznSmo/видео.html

    I love renovation videos - guess I came to the right youtube channel. Somehow it's so gratifying! Looks like you have a project that will keep my rapt attention and I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines. ❤
