  • Today our 75-year old Women’s Best athlete Joan MacDonald is here with a quick Arm & Shoulder Workout. This 10-min session includes exercises that target all the major muscles in your upper body. This workout requires no equipment - only a sofa, bench or something similar near by is needed. Don’t forget to start this session with some warm-up exercises.
    If you train your upper body regularly you can build lean muscles and make strength gains. Without strengthening this area, your lower back muscles often have to compensate for your arms and shoulders, which can result in strain, unexplained pain or an overuse injury.

    Joan~You're the best! I'm a former runner/gym rat. Back/sciatic problems+bilateral knee replacement = stopped exercising, everything so painful. Now trying to get back into shape at 69, very difficult. You give me inspiration! Thank You!!!

    Any resources about Arthritis and strengthening? Just was told severe arthritis in left shoulder as i was planning to move into a more committed weight training. Thank you. Joan is badass!
