Metallica might not be the 'best,' but their legacy proves they're the greatest. What do you think makes them so timeless-songwriting, chemistry, or something else? Let’s talk Metallica magic below! 🤘
Excellent look into what makes Metallica great, Brian! It's not about what you play, but how you play it. Metallica has always realized this. Even on Kill em all, they had dynamics as a band. The interlude on the Four Horsemen, and the clean break in Phantom Lord for instance. They expanded more on this each album. You listen to every other thrash band at the time, it's two speeds, fast and faster. That's cool, but it's gets boring fast. Metallica has always been about the song first. Also, to anyone who thinks Metallica can't hang, pick your guitar, bass, or drums up, and turn on Fight Fire with Fire, Master of Puppets, Disposable Heroes, Damage inc, Blackend, etc and see if you can keep up lol
When Ride the Lightening was released followed by Master of Puppets Metallica became the thrash band to beat and no group ever caught up to them from there. Had Metallica not brought this style of music to the masses who would have? Definitely the sometimes taken for granted GOAT
