what if you have a CSV downloaded from your bank for example but it's in the format as day/month/year and Numbers reads it as month/day/year - how do I convert it so the dates are correct and I can sort by date accurately? Because 2/1/2024 which is actually January 2nd comes out as Feb 1st in Numbes.
The following solution is available only on a Mac Go to Format, cell, data format, create custom format, select date & time Name the format I.e. euro date Drag the DAY OF THE MONTH to the first position, the month to the second position and the CCYY as the third position Save Copy the new formula to the remaining cells in the column This should do the trick in the least amount of effort.
@@APPLE1TO1 will that trick work for just that sheet or will it save for the next one too? I deal with this for 5 different spreadsheets monthly. What did work was copy and paste into a Google sheet, and sorted by date there just fine. Why won't Numbers recognize the format correctly!!

It might be better to open it in a new document and convert it in there. I’m sure every company is different depending on how it works.
