    Got to admit that I am a relative newbie to using Mac OS as well as using the in-built 'Apple Office' offerings. I am an IT professional by trade and have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office. I thought I would give the Apple apps a try and I am quite impressed. I was slightly disappointed with the lack of a mail merge facility in Pages however I believe that there's a good reason for that in that Apple wants to move away from a paper based office. In all however, a decent collection of free tools which can all very easily be exported to Office compatible applications. Great tutorial albeit basic but so far so good.

How do you go backward if you want to exit (numbers) and see your other existing work in numbers. So far we have been closing the current page that she may not be done, needs to come back to, closing it (red dot upper left) and just opening numbers again(clicking on the icon in the bar section below) to find another needed. On a regular PC, we just click backward to see all other projects/work in files/folders.

      When you have an existing spreadsheet open and you want to retrieve a different named spreadsheet just click on “spreadsheets” in the upper left hand corner. It will take you to the recents and select the new sheet you want. That is on an iPhone or iPad. If on a Mac go to file open new or open or recent

    hey, is there any way to export data from a pdf sheet to mac numbers? (without using any third party software)

    • @APPLE1TO1
      @APPLE1TO1  3 года назад

      Afraid not. You will likely need Adobe Acrobat for something like this!
      You can try to copy and paste as your free option.

    Hi Frank, is it possible to save a spreadsheet in numbers as a jpg or jpeg? I need to use one in iMovie. Thanks!

      So the best way to do that is making a PDF. Then open in preview. Export as Jpg

    Enjoyed your tutorial very much. I am having a problem and can’t figure out how to get around it. I have one column that sometimes has a Roman number in the cell. If I type in 224/2 and return it changes to 112. If I type in 224/1 it changes to 224. Any ideas, thanks?

    • @APPLE1TO1
      @APPLE1TO1  3 года назад

      Jan if I am understanding your question correctly. 224/ is telling numbers to divide 224 by the number after the slash in this case 2 which equals 112. When you key 224/1 the result is 224.
      If you don’t intend to divide just key in the whole number and hit return

    • @APPLE1TO1
      @APPLE1TO1  3 года назад +1

      If you are trying to key a Roman numeral the cell ir column should be formatted as alpha not numeric. But all Roman numerals are letters so it will default to alpha.

    Hi how I can make it show for example if something is valued at 0.10 and there is 1000 pieces of them, so the total worth is 100. Can I can make this?
    Or how I can make it to add +1 % for example if I have 1000 on the A , how I can make it show 1010 (+1%) on the row B?

    Show what you are saying on the screen at the same time.
    I can only see "choose a template."
    The pictures on the page "choose a template" have such small printings of letters I can not read them.
    Also use a pointer to show where you are reading .
