- Pickup trucks are huge here in Texas, so it is no wonder brands offer everything from a stripped-down work truck all the way to these two luxurious rigs ready to head to the country club or haul hay across the state.
The real question is, who does Western luxury better? GMC with their Sierra Denali Ultimate or Toyota with their new, 1794 Limited Edition?

1794 limited edition game changer
👍🏼
I went from 3 Silverado HDs to the Tundra limited Crewmax 6.5, it simply has the smoothest power train I’ve ever experienced in a truck, and the ride is like silk, the Sierra is the better looking truck objectively , but not a good enough reason to choose it, Toyotas are bullet oroof
I was able to snag a 1794 Limited Edition this week. Awaiting delivery.
Beautiful Review!!! Thanks alot for this!!! I love what they did with the Tundra but they should have included automatically lifting tailgate to complete this limited edition of the gorgeous 1794 Edition Tundra!!!😊😊
Thanks for watching!
I agree 100%! They should have included a power liftgate, that would have been a nice touch. The only "issue" I would have with the Tundra is the lack of storage inside the cab. The battery pack takes up premium storage space in the truck. I'm not an engineer so I don't have a solution to that but I'm hoping the Toyota engineers can solve it.
Hopefully, after this 1794 limited edition, toyota can supply powered running boards and powered bed step for the 1794s with TRD off-road packages at toyota dealerships
👍🏼
I got rid of my Sierra Denali for the 1794 with the real chrome. Love it
You forgot to mention the 120 volt plug in the back of the tundra, another plus
👍🏼
Really GREAT review 👍👍👍. I am subscribed already.
Thank you!
I saw a little window in the back of the Ultimate that slides open manually and the Tundra has a power panoramic roof and the entire back window power lowers as well.
The Denali Ultimate front end is much nicer looking than that one on the Tundra. Looking at each vehicle, I must admit that my choice would be the Denali hands down! Tundra has a way to go to match the GMC. Thanks for the nice review, Cory.
Toyota Much More Reliable 😅
No way, JD Power has the tundra ranked last. They were reliable 10 years ago lol
@@alexgamet2261
Note JD, power is paid by the brands to say that their trucks are reliable
I used to feel that way until I seen these new Tundra Engines having catastrophic engine failure. Seems like GMC is more dependable now. Isn’t that crazy!
You didn’t mention that the rear or bed window on the Tundra rolls down completely. I am really enjoying my 2024 Tundra 1794 iForce Max. The leather and walnut interior is very appealing. The power to the road is amazing. I drove the GMC’s, Dodges and Fords before making my decision of which to purchase . My choice was easy. They are all very expensive. That part is not very easy.
The GMC Denali Ultimate front end is absolutely #1. The Silverado tailgate and brake lights are also #1. If I could purchase the Denali with the 6.2L gasser without auto start/stop and cylinder deactivation it would really be "the ultimate"! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching.
You can disable those "features", I love my Denali 6.2.
Can’t disable the cylinder deactivation and must remember to push the button (each start up) to disable the auto start/stop feature.
@@DH-mf2lv There are a couple things you can do, you can buy a Pulsar LT that will disable DFM/AFM and auto stop. Or, you can buy a Range DFM/AFM disabler that plugs into the OBD port. Or, you can shift the truck into L9 and that will disable the auto stop and the DFM for free.
I appreciate that information!@@MrRidleyDog
Easily hands down the Tundra. The Tundra headlight stack is sleek and smooth looking, GMC/Ford always seems to fail with double-stack headlights. Tundra doesn't suffer from little-man syndrome like the GMC for a small screen. GMC has no panoramic roof option. The baseball stitching inside the GMC looks stupid, leave that look for a baseball. GMC doesn't have a rear glass that folds down completely, but it does have reflective chrome on the inside (pretty sure that is not a bonus). GMC has the goofy look of two-tone chrome on the outside. GMC tows less with a max towing of 8,900 lbs. With the Tundra, I don't have to worry about DEF, higher oil consumption, limp mode from regen (or even having to wait for regen), and wintertime games of plugging the truck in. GMC also suffers from DFM system (which has been problematic for owners) and they have had transmission issues. looking
That two-tone chrome is an unforgivable oversight. lol
I have GMC with the Diesel engine, I never experienced any of the issues you are talking about so far with one hundred and fifty thousand on it.
Those Shark fins are functional for disturbing the wind flow over the bed.
Toyota is all about controlling airflow
@@GTGarageTalk controlling air is one thing but it's always been their thirst for gasoline that they have never been able to control.
@@sgbradley 20-21 for a full-size pickup, I take it. Not even the Canyon or Colorado get that good of gas milage. ROFL
They have another function. Its for wireless cameras to be placed on rear of trailer for towing
@@JIPlatium only turbo I'd have is a diesel option, V6-8 or a straight 6 for gasoline engines.
I see that the Tundra is missing the gloss black on the A and B pillar, I think a black contrast would look more according to the model than a single color throughout the truck, I hope it is just something they correct in the final model.
Why gmc still have the old radio antenna looks so bad ruinning the truck can someone please explain ? ?
Because the other option is embedding it into the windshield and they have not made that move yet.
Price ??? What can we expect. After all, it is the most important question. Thanks
Pricing of the Tundra hasn’t been announced.
Pricing of the GMC is here:
2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate | THE Ultimate in GMC Luxury
ruclips.net/video/hlx_1b84d1g/видео.html
The GMC is 95k and the 1794 is 70k. Toyota us far superior
Are those Tires 33’s? 20” wheels on the Tundra?
Those tires need to be at least 35’s
They don't need to be.
That movable step will hit larger tires
Tundra needs some roof lights.
👍🏼
You didn't mention the drive modes of the Tundra
Correct. I couldn’t cover everything in the short time I had with them.
Well it's a pretty important feature that was worth mentioning
But I'd have to take the GMC instead just for the diesel option.
I love this diesel.
Sure... sign me up for DEF, high oil consumption, regen, and winter time fun..... Yeah no thank you!
@@JIPlatium DEF is just like putting windshield fluid in the car and the Regen happens when you have a heavy load or elevation of 200' plus. I'm at sea level and on West Coast so I'm warm and toasty. Diesel is cheaper on West Coast compared to the east.
Toyota for sure.
👍🏼
Cars with 4 ft beds!
😂
Tundra! Only caveat for me are those tacky rear seat storage.
TOYOTA TUNDRA
👍🏼
On the dyno...chevys are overly rated horsepower lol...there always 50 to 80 horsepower short on the dyno ... ...tundra power band shows a smooth linear incline in the dyno within 10-20 horsepower rating....plus I have had both trucks...the warranty and customer service is night and day!! Chevy didn't want to warranty a battery that was over a year old due to it being over 30k miles!! Drove straight to toyota and traded the chevy for the tundra....within a year it had a brake issue but toyota fixed it fast with absolutely no hassle! The lead tech even offered to ride with me to describe the problem ....hopped in...test drove it...boom had it fixed same day lol....so toyota warranty makes the tundra worth way more
Toyota for me
👍🏼
1794 all day. If you disagree, buy the GMC and wait 8 months, then you’ll see…. 😂😂😂
The interior in the Denali is simply better, Better quality finishing, better layout, better colorway, only thing missing is a panoramic sunroof, and the 3.0 DURAMAX is amazing.
On the flip side the Tundra is a Toyota.
😉
It will fall apart and break like all GMC stuff right when the warranty ends
Give me the GMC! ...tundra has engines blowing up!..rear def issues and transmission failures....the least reliable truck right now according to C.R...M.T...C&D.
Looks like someone took a baseball to the the Toyota truck. Kinda makes you throw up in your mouth a bit
