Be sure to check out part 2 of this comprehensive review where I take the Denali Ultimate out on a road trip and put Super Cruise through the paces. I also crunch real-world fuel economy numbers for the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine!🤔 See it here: ruclips.net/video/FesXdRVAqlg/видео.html
I absolute loooove your review! You explained many things others dont except under the hood. Im a lady andI love this truck, beautiful! Saludos from Puerto Rico!!!
Thanks so much for the nice words. I would have explained the engine but the video was running a bit long so I had to cut that portion out. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope you stick around for future content!
Thank you for your service. Great looking truck. Great, thorough review. $86,000 for a truck seems crazy to me but I hope that you enjoy it for many miles to come.
I have bought 4 Denali's. I make plenty of cash. I cant afford one anymore. I have an 18 2500 with 30,000 miles, garaged every day of its life, other than camping or hunting trips. I paid 67,000 for it in 2018. 5 years later they have gone up 30,000???? No thank you. I have bought 4 2500 Denali's, and 2 Yukon Denali's. I am done with GMC.
Isn't it crazy how much ALL vehicles have increased over the past 3 years? Something has to give with this crazy economy! People are getting clobbered and going backward financially!
@michaelmancini5773 The Tundra was on my shortlist, and i wanted to like it but i just couldn't get past a few things. First, the hybrid isn't a true hybrid and gas mileage is still horrible. Plus, the electric motor had a strange feel to it when it engaged/disengaged. It felt "clunky" to me which is not usual for a Toyota. Second, the exterior styling is hard to love. Again, I wanted to like it but if I wanted an ugly truck with crappy fuel economy, I'd just buy another Nissan Titan for a lot less money. Just my opinion of course.
@@TMRI1970I bought the non hybrid tundra in Jan 2023. Co worker of mine bought a 2022 gmc sierra AT4. We tow our campers and dirt bikes up north. 2 weeks ago his transmission locked up on the road. Towed to GM and said it’s a complete transmission failure and needs new. Due to the strikes it could be up to 2 months. It has only 39,000 miles lol. So now I’m towing his stuff while he drives a rental.
That's a drop dead gorgeous truck. I don't personally buy GM or Ford products anymore (I don't like unplanned walking). But, man, that's a great looking truck. Good luck with it. Thank you for your service sir!!!
Way too expensive for an actual truck user that will do more than pull a camper or trailer. You’re not throwing lumber, dirt or going to the dump in this 80k luxury truck! Thanks for your service!
I am more for the new RAM Limited with the I - 6 block, but I have to say, GMC looks so much better then the RAM. I can't do the Ultimate, but might go for the regular Denali. I am holding till 01/25. Rumors are, great incentive are coming from all 3 big ones. They simply not selling many, these days. I 100% agree with you on the Pana roof. I love it in my Grand Cherokee Overland. Works very well and never any leaks. Thank you for your service and great video, boss.
Overall very nice truck! One draw back to the GM 3.0 Liter diesel is the fact it uses a belt to drive the oil pump, located at the back if the engine and the only way to replace it is to drop, the transmission, cheap and poor design. I am not a hater, I just bought a 2024 Denali Ultimate 2500 today. I got rid of my 2022 RAM 3500 Mega Cab Limited with the HO Cummins, best truck designed for real pulling in my opinion but, due to the 2022 Cummins issues and now the EPA settlement with recall which could result in detuning and loss of value resulting from high trade in reaction or drop in brand value, was not willing to take the longer term risk. The Gen 1 Eco Diesel EPA settlement resulted in a major detune and killed the long term success of the motor. I still have my 2022 Gen 3 Eco Diesel which has been outstanding and has the engine components on the right end of the motor and no internal belts, just chains, unlike the GM. I’ve seen other reviews from GM 3.0 Diesel owners illustrating in the manual the high oil consumption on these motors and how they are overfilled by a quart from the factory. Again, review’s from owners that I’ve seen, not first hand experience. Very nice truck, the motors are very quiet and the gas mileage is excellent so a sincere congratulations and I hope it really serves you dependably. BTW, majority of the time people bash your truck for price or value, they are jealous or can’t afford it. All trucks are expensive today, regardless of brand including the Jap brands. It’s real simple, regardless of brand a person is going to have to pay if they want a new truck and if they claim the price is so much better on another brand it simply doesn’t have the features and nice to haves. If another did, everyone would be buying it. Cheers!
Great points, and the oil belt replacement is definitely worth mentioning. That said, it'll be quite some time before it's due and if the engine proves reliable like I believe it will be, i can live with the cost associated with the service. Thanks for watching and for the great comments!
I recently picked up a slightly used, but loaded, 2022 Silverado LTZ with the current refresh. There are a few minor differences between this truck and mine, in favor of the GMC of course... I like how GMC put the A/C vents over the screen whereas the Silverado has the vents on the side, blasting my right hand with frigid air. Other than the trailer brake configuration and start button locations, I don't see any difference. The price difference between this one and mine is well over $30k. A better value than mine, not in any sense of reality, but used vs new isn't apples to apples. If mine were new, the price difference would still be around $15k. At $70k, I think mine is way overpriced, but I guess it's really down to if the buyer can afford it and if the buyer thinks it's worth it. That truck is stunning though. Really great lines and color. The wheels especially.
The used truck market is the best way to buy these luxury pickups, in my opinion, which is funny because that used to only be the case with high-end foreign cars like Mercedes and BMW. It's absolutely insane that today high-end trucks are priced like a Mercedes!!! So much has changed in so little time!!!
I like the way it looks and it does help out, especially during the summer months! I purchased directly from GMC. Just look at the Sierra website and click the accessories tab and you should be able to locate it.
That is a beautiful truck. I always wanted a Denali truck for years. Now that i finally make enough, i really dont make enough. 🇺🇸 has priced out the Mid middle class. 😢.
Thanks for the comment, and I completely agree with you about the price. I'm afraid we've crossed into an area (regarding price) that we can't retreat from, and I fear this could be our new "normal." It's scary when you think about it, to be honest. How did we get so far out of whack in such little time?
@Cumminspower365 It hasn't been that cold yet but I'm sure it will have a glo-plug warming count down when the Temps dip below 40F degrees. My cummins had that when it got cold.
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it very much! That's awesome you were stationed at Keesler AFB...small world! I retired down here at Keesler back in 2012. I absolutely love the MS Coast too!
@@TMRI1970 Very cool. I taught at Wolfe Hall from late 2008 to early 2012. Best duty station I’ve had in 23 years now. Thanks for the video. Looking at buying the same truck in the next few months.
@jlcrane82 I was an instructor/IS at Cody Hall from 04-06 for the ATC officer course. I left in 08 and returned in 10 as the 14Th OSF/CC. small world!! 😂
I don’t know about that my dad has one. He just bought it three weeks ago and he got 12,000 off here in Las Vegas. he told me that they hadn’t sold a single car or truck in over a week with rates being almost 9% on cars and lease rates being about 7 1/2 8%. I don’t see people running in the door that’s what he told me but they are deals to be hard and believe me you can buy one under invoice if you go to the right dealer on the right day like got plenty of dealer money on these things
Good review. Channel has potential. Recommend consulting with those with larger channels as how to grow it as it is very competitive these days and lots of hidden tricks to do it.
Thank you for the kind words! I'm having fun doing the videos, that's for sure! I definitely hope to improve the quality and content of the videos over time. I hope you'll be along for the journey!
Awesome truck. I have a 2020 1500 Denali fully loaded. Wish I would have waited a bit longer for the Ultimate. Price of the truck, definitely worth it. Enjoy the truck brother.
You are correct, Ram now has “Tungsten” that sits at the top of the trim hierarchy. They trolled *gm* for doing it but everybody else copied them and did the exact same thing and nobody says a word. Lol
Nice vid Major. My wife is retired AF, you can’t tell her anything! I know you said you’re not a GMC buff, but I am. I shouldn’t be, but, I am. Ever since my first, a 98 yukon. Since then, I’m on my third gen. I want a truck as well. I hear GMC is supposed to be coming out with a supposedly “affordable “ truck to compete with Fords Maverick. I’m holding out for that🤞🏾.
That's funny, my wife says the same about me! I suppose us AF retirees are a "unique" bunch. As for my previous disdain for GM, it occured back in 2003 when I bought a brand new Sonoma ZR2. That was my first new pickup and while it looked really good, it was a complete pile of garbage! In and out of the shop, it was nothing but problems! Also the fuel economy from the 4.3L V-6 was horrendous! I have a long memory and tend to hold a grudge but so far this GMC is winning me over big time! Thanks for watching and the comment...made my morning! :)
Going to be in the market soon and the Denali will be my choice and it will be that silver colour it's beautiful and easy to take care of...I will be going with the 3.0 Duramax also...I would have gotten the 6.2 but GM has been having way to many issues with their V8's caused by that stupid cyl deactivation crap causing lifter failure...not concerned in the least about any glass roof I never use them nor do I even like them but you're right it should be at least an option for those who do like them for the price of the truck they shouldn't be an extra either...by the way that same truck here in Canada is $105k so don't complain about $86k that's a deal...good review looking forward to your driving test I have friends that have that engine and are getting high 20's to low 30's miles per gallon on the hwy empty of course.
Congrats, and great choice, my friend! I would seriously consider adding the Super Cruise option if you have the chance! I use it daily, and it's a game changer! Road test video coming soon with an extensive Super Cruise demo, so stay tuned for that! Good luck with the new truck, and again, congrats!
Yes, I'm aware of the switch to the lower left of the steering column but there should be one in the bed as well! I've since remedied that oversight with my truck! 😊
I have a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado RST AND I LOVE IT But the price is paid for it was crazy paid $62,605 like you said pay to play. Before i bought this truck i owned a 2021 ram cummins and had transmission problems as well
on 1500s hands down GMC has nicest looking trucks, i am a big fan of square look as well.......Ram has a square back end and bubbly front end, previous gen Rams with the semi looking front end was horrid.....I like the hood to be flat as well.......24 GMC 2500 is best looking 3/4 ton as well have a 23 Silverado High Country 2500HD and dont think ill ever go back to 1500 though, I need bed space and capacity and they ride really nice considering beautiful truck man!
Good evening Major and sir I want to thank you for your service to this greatest country on Gods earth. I am a brand new subscriber to your new channel and I wish you good luck with your new Denali and channel. Really enjoyed your video and you have me wanting a Denali now wow my wife is gonna kill me lol.😅😅
Thank you so much for the kind words and for subscribing to the channel! Your support is greatly appreciated and never taken for granted! I have big plans for future content and hope you'll be along for the ride!
Hi Major. thanks for your service, I work for the Dept of VA! We love our veterans! I’d like to ask how the seat comfort is? I see mixed comments online about them, many complain about the comfort… can you please comment? Thanks…. Be well…
@MarkR973 The seats on the Ultimate trim level are better than the standard Denali however they could definitely use some improvement! For me, the seats are comfortable for about 2 hours, maybe 3, but after that, they aren't the greatest. It's not that they're unbearable, but for this trim level, I expect excellence, and they underwhelm for sure! I have made two 12+ hrs trips without any type of issues, but again, there's much room for improvements. Is it a deal breaker? For me, definitely not. There's too many other great areas where the GMC excells and in my opinion it's still the best option in the 1/2 ton segment!
I pretty much agree with the glovebox lack of lighting....everything else is nice on mine. Since I dont really buy new or luxury vehicles, Im glad GMC did what they did, but yeah....a bit expensive.
I had a 2018 Sierra Denali 1500 but started having intermittent lifter issues, even with an afm disabler. 5 years old with only 23k miles and started having issues at 15k. I looked hard at a new Tundra but didn't want a 6cyl turbo truck. So I traded for a 24 Denali ultimate. We'll see how this goes but I'm not 100% confident.
I looked at the tundra as well, mainly for Toyota's legendary quality. I was also excited about the prospect of reasonable fuel economy, afforded by the "hybrid" engine. I was disappointed by both, unfortunately, and the Cap Stone edition interior was stranger than the truck's exterior!
I test drove the 6.2L and really loved the engine...lots of power! I was more interested in fuel economy, though, so in the end, the Baby Max got me. Thanks for watching, and commenting, I really appreciate it!
I really love the trail boss and the ZR2! Great choice with the Silverado. If you have bed lights, be sure and watch my bed light switch install video. Super easy to install and makes it so much more convenient when using it at night!
Do you know what that 80's antenna is for? its a low clearance feeler gauge for low clearance parking structures. I agree about the the needed light on the Glove Compartment, GM skimp on that. But the bed light, yes bed switch is nice but theres also advantage that it could be controlled in the cabin to monitor your bed belongings during on the fly.
Agree, but I think there should be two switches for the bed light, one in the cabin and one in the bed. That's interesting about the antenna... I didn't know that!
Thanks for the comment and for watching! I'll definitely post updates addressing both of those concerns over the next few months after the new truck "honeymoon" wears off. Stay tuned!
many people don't realize that if you just use a truck for transportation and comfort the 5.3 is available. this eliminates the cost of premium fuel and the costs of diesel and def fluid. i have 200k trouble free miles on my truck using 87 octane
I normally prefer darker grey or near black colors. This silver is very nice on this particular truck. I understand the panoramic roof complaint…. But I’ve found I really don’t use the panoramic glass in my F-150 to its full extent but rather more like a traditional moonroof.
Agree 100%. I hardly ever used the pano roof in my F150 either, but it was nice to at least have the option. It also seems to help with resale value when you do have the pano-roof. I guess we can always find something to complain about if we look hard enough. Thanks for the comment and also for watching!
On my 3rd Denali, 2007-2014-2021. All were great but the current had to get engine replaced at 19,000 miles. Needless to say I was to happy about it, main bearing went out. Not sure what direction I will go next…
These automakers are putting cheap junk ass parts into them, these replies by multiple people I’ve read of trannys , engines failing is why I’m not getting out of my 2010 Sierra Denali my 6.2 is the L9H and DOES NOT HAVE AFM…all 1500 trucks in the 07-13’ body with 6.0 and 6.2 (Denali got the 6.2 early for 07) don’t have afm. The 5.3 did and they had trouble as far back as 2007. …I would love a new one but too scared… everything’s overpriced junk now..
If you got a Ram Limited or F150 Limited they all cost about the same. Only thing is you aren't getting a diesel with either the Ford or Ram so if you wanted diesel the only option is GM unless you get an HD truck.
GM trucks are so late to the game bro 😂🤦♂️2011 ford f150 had the platinum limited king ranch gmc Chevrolet the LTZ LT and the base GMC DENALI SLT SLE and the base come on GM 🤦♂️i can tell more features FORD had compared to GM trucks but its a nice looking truck congratulations brother
@@JOSERODRIGUEZ13-b8e I don't really know what point you are trying to make with all that drivel but at the upper end the truck have about 98% the same features.
Thank you for your service, sir! Love the truck and would be very happy to own one. Shortfalls to me are sunroof, (I disagree with the headroom comment because the F150 and RAM have plenty of headroom with pano sunroof systems.), rear seat fold down and rear portion of the console... just don't look and feel like an "ultimate" and are subpar, doesn't have a true flat floor system and the floor sticks up in the rear, no integrated antenna, are my main shortfall complaints. The interior is better than before but the finishes they use are a bit cheap plastic feeling especially the upper glovebox and when you open it the thing pops up out of control. The RAM interior techs somehow have pulled off the interior pieces masterfully, there isn't one piece within the interior that looks cheap on the Limited version. Having said that, this is the premier truck and if GM fixed those issues this really would be the perfect truck, period. I drove the RAM and F150 and the RAM surprised me the most as it rides the absolute best with the air suspension. I'd like to see how this GMC rides, my past GMC trucks rode very well. As for the engine I'm not a fan of small diesels and they typically dime you to death with maintenance and this particular engine has a strange belt configured system running the oil pump. Thanks for the overview, the truck is absolutely beautiful!
Great points, and I agree! The Ram is nice but it has quality control issues, and fit and finish on the exterior is horrendous. In the end, all the trucks seem to have their issues you just have find the one that suits your personal needs and wants the most. I hope the Denali holds up over time but so far I really love it! Thanks so much for the comments and for supporting the channel!
@@TMRI1970 Thank you for responding. What exterior fit and finishes are you referring to on the RAM? I only looked at the 1500 and it seemed to have an overall nice fit and finish product. I just don't think the front end on the RAM looks near as good as the GMC. Thanks again.
@onthethrottle7104 The previous two vehicles I've owned have been Stelantis (Chrysler) products. One was a 2020 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn mega cab and the other a 2022 dodge challenger hellcat widebody. Both vehicles were priced north of $85K so they were far from economy models. Each had serious flaws in the paint (sags, trash and runs) and the gaps in the body panels were horrible. Also, the sheet metal on the door and quarter panels flexes like a tin can which I noticed while hand washing the vehicles. In addition, the transmission on the "Heavy Duty" Ram truck completely shelled out at 32K miles. I never towed anything substantial with the truck! The interior of the Ram was pretty nice but the cabin materials showed signs of premature deterioration. I will never make the mistake of buying a Stelantis product again. The only good thing of both vehicles was the super charged hemi and the Cummins diesel engine. Everything else was junk, in my opinion. As for Ford, I've had good luck with them and I absolutely loved my 2015 f150 platinum!
@@TMRI1970 Got it. Yeah I was talking specifically about the 1500, RAM has really dialed that truck in nicely. I have not looked at their other stuff. The 2500 model is from their dated cab so not sure when they will update that. The Cummins is a great motor but you have to connect it to a great transmission. At one time they talked about going with the Allison, boy would that be nice. Regardless they need to update their 2500 and use the nice 1500 cab.
Yeah, I know about that switch, but on the video I was referring to the fact it doesn't have a switch located in the bed of the truck. I didn't really make that clear in the video though. I made a video about installing a switch in the bed and also one for installing a tonneau cover. Be sure to check those out here: ruclips.net/video/4ioFT2HGzaQ/видео.htmlsi=riq8ImUlNGGAD7hz AND here: ruclips.net/video/ICwcIgtx1QY/видео.htmlsi=GQRgr7OyAADJnli9
The cargo lights are on a button on the center dash area..My 2018 has the same. After zooming in on your video, I couldn’t find a switch, but maybe there is - somewhere 🙄 Add-On: found it: left side of wheel in the “lighting control”, go figure.😂😂
Yes, I knew where the cockpit switch was located. My complaint was that there isn't a switch in the bed as well. I've since remedied that GM oversight and installed my own switch in the bed. Check that out here : ruclips.net/video/4ioFT2HGzaQ/видео.htmlsi=LKjO7PDX-tfA6Xal
Grat video, Major. Thank you for your service. All of your compliments were spot-on to me. I would like to add on. No Tonneau cover. At this price point! One question. How much better do the Ultimate seats feel over the standard Denali? I just drove a Volcanic Red Tint Coat. I'm comparing the Denali against the Ram 1500 Limited. Thanks.
Thanks for the kind words, Karl! I really haven't spent much time in the standard Denali, so i can't really compare the two. I can say the Ultimate seats are very good, especially the materials! The Ram Limited is also very nice, and the ride is the best of all the half tons, in my opinion. The one place the Ram falls behind, though, is the exterior fit and finish. My 2500 Laramie Longhorn had lots of trash in the paint and several runs/sags that I missed when I initially looked at it. Very disappointing! My 2022 Challenger hellcat widebody had several defects in the paint as well, so I believe they are not isolated incidents. If you do decide on the Ram, take extra time and look at the paint to make sure you're getting a clean truck! Best of luck on your purchase!
@TMRI1970 Thank Sir! I agree on the ride for the Ram. I also liked the infotainment center. The Harmon Kardon sound system simply killed the Bose. Really GM? Bose! But the paint problem you mentioned is the deal killer. I will go with the Sierra. Thanks!
Congratulations on starting you channel. I'm. Ot even a GM fan but the combo of dark chrome with regular chrome seems odd since they know the market demands alot of blacked out finishes. Enjoy the truck though
Thanks so much for watching and the comments. I'm not normally a GM fan either but I tried the Ram and will not go back, Ford has gotten stale and Toyotas are weird. Hopefully this GMC and the little diesel hold up and convert me to the GM side long term!
@TMRI1970 been a toyota guy for over 20 years so naturally I just got the tundra as my first truck. I don't tow alot and the reliability is unbeatable. I like watching truck content though. I'm also a content creator so I like to support others who try to be informative etc
I tend to agree with you on that! However, in my case the black provides a nice contrast to the silver and looks quite nice in my opinion. Thanks for the comment and also for watching!
Some other features missing... 1. Panoramic Sun Room (electric) & entire back window slides down (electric as well) 2. Reclining foot/leg rest option for all passenger seats, maybe for driver also during cruise control when truck is driving itself 3. Mood lighting /color changing for interior floors and some mood frangrance built into AC system that sends mist into system from bottles you install, have 5 at a time to choose from. Also, mini electric cooler built into the back seat that slides out or could be drop down into middle part of seat 4. Make bed step wider and drop to ground level, press button and it auto lifts you to level of bed entrance 5. Seat TV's for back passengers & front passenger inside mirror to convert to TV screen and back to mirror with push of button, the mirror could adjust to a larger size when in tv mode, 10-12 inch or so Those engineers aren't stupid, they are consumers like us; they are holding out on all the real Rolls Royce tech. to get sales, they very slowly add a new feature here and there. Hate to mix custom work with such a beautiful truck but hoping to see some of these features added this decade
I bought one recently. Mine is pearl white with the LZ0. Sticker on mine was a bit higher than $86k though but I paid around $83k out the door taxes and all. Pearl white was I think $1100 extra. I didn't order it or anything it was what they had and at the time was the only Ultimate within 100 miles. Right after I got it though 2 of the other local GMC dealers got one in both had the 6.2 think they were pearl white too but they tacked on $10-15k over sticker too one of the reasons I didn't even bother going to those other 2 lots. I like this color might have picked this if I had the choice. I do like the pearl white a lot though its just so does the bugs. Have to wash it constantly from flies landing on it and puking or shitting whatever those black specs are they leave everywhere. The price is in line with the Limited Ram or F150. Actually for about $10k more you can get the 3/4 ton which seems like a steal when you consider what the half ton cost lol
Agree, but not everyone wants, or needs a 3/4 ton pick-up. The ride on a 3/4 ton is punishing to say the least and the maintenance is comparable to to luxury German cars! As for the color, I love the pearl white (actually my first choice) but I also love my sterling metallic color! Congrats on an awesome truck!
@@TMRI1970 I have only seen 2 others in person besides mine and both were pearl white. One was a 3/4 ton the other a half ton. Must be its one of the more popular colors. I know I have seen others online but the only 2 I have seen with my own eyes were pearl white
Beautiful looking truck. I have been eyeing these for a while now. Torn between the 6.2 and the 3.0 Diesel. Would prefer the gas engine as opposed to dealing with DEF and all that nonsense, but the DFM issues are a major concern, especially for a truck at the price point. One question. I REALLY like the deflector you added up front. Do you have a link for that? It really fits in nice with the silver and vader chrome combination.
The 6.2L is a great engine and the emissions garbage you have to deal with on the modern diesel engines is annoying for sure! That said, the Baby Max is a torque monster and gives the 6.2 a run for its money in terms of acceleration and towing. It also blows the 6.2 away on fuel mileage...it's not even close! Not to mention the 3.0 has a 5 yr/100K mile drivetrain warranty and is $1500 cheaper to boot. Given all that and my love for diesel engines, it really was a no-brainer. I added a link for the hood deflector in the description. I purchased on the GMC website and picked it up at the local dealer here in Biloxi. I used my GM rewards points for purchase but I believe it was $129. Well worth the price and the textured finish matches other areas on the truck so it looks like it was meant to be there. Thanks for watching and good luck on your new truck purchase!
Beautiful truck? o.0 Two tone chrome sucks, the jumbo running lights are lame, Frankenstein stitching is horrible, smallest screen giving off strong little man syndrome. Beautiful truck??? 😂😂😂😂
@@TMRI1970 I'm kind of the same as far as being torn between the 6.2 and the Duramax. I've never owned a diesel before, and I'll admit I don't like the thought of the added maintenance of adding DEF and changing fuel filters more often. The thing that has me really looking at this duramax is you never really hear anything bad about it. Just about everybody that has it loves it. My biggest question in deciding between the two involves durability. I don't really care about the fuel mileage because I feel like if you take the difference between the two cost wise and then mileage wise, it is almost a wash between the two. My question is, which one do you think is more durable between the two? I know the diesel hasn't been around as long to have a lot of people putting high miles on it but that's what my deciding factor will be, durability.
It's truly hard to say, which will be more "trouble-free" between the two, but I'll put money on the 3.0L lasting much longer than that 6.2L, any day of the week. The newest version of the LZO is beast mode and built like a tank! It has forged internals with a cast iron sleeve in an aluminum engine block! The only "unknown" is the oil pump drive belt at the rear of the engine. GM states a 200K mile service life, however, it won't be cheap when the time comes for service. Bottom line, diesels are so much more robust compared to gas burners. That said, operating a diesel comes with some baggage as well. For one, you must be careful about where you purchase diesel fuel because water in diesel fuel is much more of a problem than water in gas. With a gas engine, you can buy gas just about anywhere without worry; a diesel engine, not so much. Also, you have the additional filters to change, which can get pricey if you let the dealer service your vehicle. If you do your own maintenance, however, it's not bad at all. Lastly, diesel currently costs more than premium gas so there's that too.I say currently because sometimes it's cheaper...it just depends on the current season, political environment, etc. If you plan on keeping the truck for 5+ years, opt for the baby Max. If you like to trade every 3-4 years, look harder at the 6.2L in my opinion.
I would have to say the diesel would hands down win if you're talking pure durability. The Dynamic Fuel Management that GM is using on those 5.3 and 6.2L gasses are a definite issue. Only a matter of time before you have lifter issues with those, and lots of those trucks are having lifter failure within the first 5-10K miles. I don't know why GMC just doesn't nix it completely, it's nothing but trouble. I had to have the lifters repaired twice in my wife's vehicle, and they were trashed again when we finally got rid of it.
I have 2023 ultimate I would like to be able to keep my towing ball in the back bumper, but if you let down your tailgate, it will hit the ball and dent the tailgate, inside lights for ambience it’s very dark in my truck. I know there are options, but I don’t want it to look cheap.
Lol, for those hating on the sticker price of the truck, perhaps you should stick to your 90’s trucks….. If the truck is out of your budget, keep pushing….. lol.
Towing. - I tow a utility trailer with a side by side with mine. Total weight 3500lbs. (That’s about half the truck tow capacity). It cuts the mileage in half to 13 and that’s HIGH speed interstate. Still, not bad (my 5.7 Hemi gas used to get 6-7mpg.). What IS surprisingly bad while towing, is the DEF sucks down like a toilet flush. A FULL DEF tank will be empty by 400 to 450 miles. Wow. When NOT Towing, the DEF seems to last 5000-7500 miles. (Oil change every 7500) This is something to be aware of, and prepared for. Finding DEF at a pump is very difficult. A few truck stops have it at the pump, but you can expect a long delay to fill as the Semis also are there for it. Super cruise is the bomb! You must not take your EYES off the road for longer than about 7seconds at a time. It’ll warn you when you do, and violate it twice and you’re locked out of SuperCruise until you shut the truck off and then restart it. (Don’t recommend trying that rolling down the interstate). It looks right through mirrored sunglasses - impressive. For example: driving with SuperCruise engaged, I can turn my head to the side, but keep looking with my EYES at the road and SuperCruise is happy. Likewise , I can have my head facing toward the road, and look out the sides of my eyes for 7seconds before it warns me to watch the road or give up SuperCruise. Anything that blocks the sensor (on top the steering column) from seeing your eyes will start the 7 second limit. Phones, iPads, big gulps, even your arm holding the top of the wheel. For everyone’s safety, please always be ready to take control of the wheel. And that’s all you have to do, steer the vehicle. It will do a pretty good job of keeping the vehicle in the middle of your lane. Now if there’s a big pothole that you’re lining up to hit, just steer around it, then return to the middle of your lane and let SuperCruise continue.
Also a very nice choice! I believe Super Cruise is now offered on the High Country as well as the Denali. It really makes a difficult choice between the two trucks!
I love your video on the Denali pick up. I recently purchased the 2023 Denali SUV 6.2 Liter gasoline engine. Looking at your video and comparing your truck to my suv, there are a lots missing out of the truck that the SUV has. To me personally if they are going to use a standard "Ultimate" platform, then they need to stick with it across the board. Meaning "All" the Denali Ultimate's are the same color on the inside, that should of been an option depending on the exterior. 2. Your truck does not have the speakers in the headrest like the SUV does. 3. A you mentioned, no rear air control in the rear for the rear passengers to use. Maybe because the cab is so small. 4. Your center console is different where the arm rest is. I feel that your super charger should of been in the top of your armrest. I have the option to add a second supercharger to the top of my console. 5. My console also slide backwards with a power switch in the overhead panel. 6. I do love the Ultimate badges that they placed on the inside of your doors and on the left and right side of your hood 👍🏿. 7. My sunroof is fully powered, shade and all. 8. Grab handles inside the front corner of the door. Your pickup have them where they are needed, mine are located over the top of the door 🤔. 9. Storage compartment in your second row seat back. I have captain seats in my second row, why not put a storage compartment in those seats since there is not console back there? Those are some of the things that I feel that should transfer from one "Ultimate" vehicle to another.
Thanks for the comments, and congrats on your Yukon! I wish I had the speakers on the headrest that you have and the power shades at the rear seats. My wife's X7 has powered shades, and I absolutely love them! I'm trying to get her into the Denali mindset and trade her BWM but unfortunately, she's not having it...at least not yet, lol!
@jesseLJohnson. If you pull up the interior pictures of the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate SUV and the 2023/2024 GMC Denali Ultimate Pickup truck, the only thing that is identical is the color of the interior. All those this I mentioned is different, even the infotainment center and console is different. My center console adjust so the passengers in the second row seat can share the cupholders at the rear of the console. The armrest can slide forward when this happens so the driver and passenger can still rest their arms comfortablely on the console. Pull up the interior pictures of both the Pickup and SUV and you will see the difference of the interior trim.
@@dannykimber8177the suvs have always been a bit different it’s nothing new.. look at a 14 Sierra denali then look at a 15 Yukon Denali they were different even back then … the only ones that were the same was the07-13 trucks and 07-14 suvs them denali trims were identical
@@toddprater14 I just wish they would of gave more options for the interior trim at the ultimate level, that's my only gripe. Everything else is great because for those same options on an Escalade you will be way over $150,000.00. I have 95% of the same options on my Denali Ultimate SUV as the Escalade and paid far less for it, so I am happy 😉. Pretty soon you will not be able to get your hand on a V8. The 8's are going to 6's, the 6's to 4's, and the entire line will soon be electronic .
Thanks! I've seen some reviews mention how well the diesel performs on the low end, but has some struggles at highway speed with acceleration, especially when towing. Have you noticed that at all? I know you mentioned you don't tow much, but just curious if you have noticed. Good luck on your channel growth!
It's not a highway speed demon by any stretch of the imagination, but it moves on down the road sufficient for my tastes. I would test drive one before making the purchase and see how it feels to you personally and go from there. As for towing, I haven't done any yet, but look forward to getting a trailer behind me soon!
It seems to accelerate every bit as fast or faster than the 5.3. Might not be as quick as the 6.2 but it gets around 10mpg better and I got it for $1500 cheaper than if it was the 6.2 when I bought mine.
I have owned 2 GM. Never again. Both had issues that GM wouldn’t fix. 1984 Chevrolet with side saddle gas tanks and 2002 Chevrolet with piston slap. F GM.
I hate it when manufacturers don't take care of legitimate issues. I remember the old saddle bag gas tanks in the 70' and 80's. Didn't they have a lawsuit over those?
Beautiful truck for sure. Not sure about your area, but diesel here in Oklahoma is $1.20 a gallon more than E10 87 octane gas. The fuel savings of the diesel would be absorbed by the cost of the fuel.
That's true, but if you have a turbo, such as one of the Ford Eco-boost renditions or the new turbo-max 4-cyl from GM, you are more than likely running 91 or 93 octane. The way diesel prices have bouncing all over the place, there's not much difference between diesel and the higher grades. As a matter of fact, I found diesel 5 cents cheaper a few weeks ago, although that's not the case now. Thanks for the comment and for watching!!!
That is ridiculous. Diesel here is within $0.40 of 87. Its actually basically the same price as premium. I have a home in 3 different states though and at none of them is the price difference anywhere near that. The 6.2 is tuned for premium too so unless you get a tune to run regular you probably should be running the premium in it and it cost as much as diesel does around here and the LZ0 gets in the neighborhood of 10mpg better mileage.
Yeah, I wasn't very clear in the video. I know the key fob will turn them on and also there's the switch to the left of the steering column. My complaint is there isn't a switch located in the bed so you can control the lights from the tailgate. If you click the key fob the lights come on but only for a short time. I did install a switch though and I corrected what GMC left out. Thanks for watching and for the comment!!
@ApexSolutionsLLC Yes, I'm aware of the button, but what good is it if I am at the tailgate and need some light? The additonal button in the bed like Ford and Ram have is the only solution as far as I'm. I installed one a few months ago and it works like a charm!
What about no 12 volt power outlets, larger side mirrors arent auto dimming, no rear mud flaps, during snow in Wisconsin snow packs in between the bumper and the bed. Dont like the open fuel fill dust, dirt salt ect can get in the fuel. After all this I love my 2023 High Country LZ0 Duramax.
I agree about the lack of 12v outlets being a pain, especially if you run a dash cam or radar detector! As for the fuel door and lack of a cap, all the new trucks are going that route, so you really can't get away from it. Glad you love your LZ0 though...isn't it a great engine?
That's correct, however, there's not one located in the bed, and that's my issue. Ford and Ram both have push-button switches that activate the light from the tailgate area. GMC left this switch out for some reason. Thanks for watching!👍
@@TMRI1970 I have had issues with the radio system on and off (just stops producing sound completely to include the blinker sounds until I hard reset) and I just think the price is to high for the overall quality. I have been a GM buyer for more than 20 years and I feel like I might look at the lower trims in the future.
For $86,000.. GMC definitely could have gave you real chrome rims and not plastic.. they know exactly why they did that lol.. but mannn what a dream of a truck you have there sir… GMC has always performed better for me in my business then any other brand
WIsh people would stop asking for the maintenance nightmare pano roofs. Otherwise, I'd like collapsible under seat storage (like F-150), Agree on the bed light switch. The software integration with Google in this truck works amazingly well. I love the rear view camera "mirror" way more than I thought I would. My main gripe - the supposedly upgraded Bose stereo has terrible sound. I have a 12-year old car with a HK sound system that runs circles around it. Good thorough review!
Well said! After reading your comment, I recall I did have issues with the pano-roof in my F150. It would jam all the time when closing and once almost couldn't get it to close at all! I never opened it after that! As far as the Bose stereo goes, it's not horrible to me, but any HK system sounds much better! The best sounding stock stereo system of all time, though, has to be the Mark Levinson stereos in the early high-end Lexus' !! Thanks for commenting and for watching!
Please, no offense, I respect your right to own your choice of vehicles. I have the ability to buy almost any vehicle I want, I worked hard my whole life. I absolutely cant bring myself to play the " fool" that all of the auto maker are making out of people by paying absolutely stupid prices for a truck. The more complicated, the more trouble they will be in a very short few years. I choose to drive a well maintained 25 year old f150. Yes, I pay repairs and service cost, but I drive right by the dealerships with a nice truck and no payments or a bank account minus 80,000 dollars. To me to pay that kind of money is a fools game. Enjoyed hearing about your new truck ! Glad I didnt have to buy it. I'll keep puttin in my old Ford, I get there just like all of the people the get caught in the dealerships fools game. Good luck with your extra nice new truck. Excellent video !!!
No offense taken, and I definitely appreciate your comment! There is a lot to be said about driving an older vehicle and the savings that come with it. Someday I might wise up and do the same lol.
I was going to buy a Sierra Denali 1500, it sticker’s at $79,500.00, then I test drove and bought a Tundra 1794 with TRD off road package, a more luxurious truck with off road chops , for $8200.00 less, and boy is it powerful.
Man I got enough to buy a good truck I’m reading comments on diesel it would be my first one I’m eyeballing a capstone Toyota or gmc at4x I’m reading that diesel is too many problems transmission wise and def freezing plus the gas and mileage I think it was 15 mpg but I thought it was 25 to 30 for gmc meanwhile a Toyota is reliable and will last plus it looks good a capstone …please tell me u can make the whole cluster screen navigation
Based on the trucks you listed, I'm assuming you're looking at half-ton trucks (i.e. F150, Sierra 1500, etc). I haven't read about many transmission problems with the half-ton segment, but the 3.0 duramax engine did have a few issues with the previous version. The LM2 had a cam position sensor issue which would cause long cranks/no starts and it did on occasion use oil more than normal. Both of these issues have been fixed and I'm happy to say my LZ0 hasn't used ANY noticeable amount of oil so far (5500 miles). The def consumption has also been lower than expected but then again, I haven't towed anything, so that could change. This is my second diesel engine, and I am absolutely thrilled with it so far. This may just be the best engine I've ever owned, but time will tell on that. Bottom line, 30+ mpg and the longevity of a diesel is a complete no-brainer to me! The Tundra is nice but the hybrid is clunky and has a weird feel to it in my opinion. Its gas mileage is also horrible in real-world testing and that white interior won't stay white for long! Whatever you buy, good luck with it and thanks so much for supporting the channel!
@@TMRI1970 thanks for replying man new subscriber I’m trying to get info on trucks I don’t know much about em ls engines etc..I try n search up good reliable trucks and hybrid trucks maintenance not towing maybe in the future when I buy a boat or camper but a 2500 diesel gmc at4 was on my list this Denali looks beautiful too ultimate I saw the mpg u had on it I’m sold on that looks really good n I read the title wrong I thought this Denali u we’re presenting was a 2500 big diesel beautiful truck u have
Thanks so much for your comments and also for subscribing. You are appreciated! I'm working on some new material that should be released soon. I am looking to review a new F150, a Ram 1500 Limited, and a Yukon denali! Trying to finalize the logistics right now, but stay tuned!
I’m pretty sure that ford revolutionized the fold down/ step up tail gate with handle. I have a 2012 f150 fx2 5.0 coyote I’m still sold on the dependability of my truck Audio system & Bluetooth power by Microsoft. The Denali always was an GM upgrade nice truck GM’s draw back for me has always been electrical issues, til this day it’s still a problem…
I agree Ford introduced the step tail gate but the muti-pro from GM is on a different level in my opinion. My 2015 F150 platinum was a fantastic truck but the Sony Sync stereo was complete garbage which is unusual for a company like Sony. I hope I don't have any electrical issues with my Denali but if I do, it will be blasted on RUclips the very next day! 😁
Ford has the Platinum as the best, but seems like every other year they have a Limited as the best one. I think currently no Limited but now the King Ranch and Platinum the same price.
I wish you could get the higher end trucks with cloth seats. I never liked leather. It's hot in the summer and cold and stiff in the winter. Even with the heat and cool functions, I prefer cloth.
Very nice truck and review! Love a lot of the features it has, but your right about NO light in glove compartment being stupid!🙄 I have that issue with my vehicle. Well guess it’s time for hubby to buy me a newer one!😊
Not sure why so many are WHINING about the price. Lots of cars & trucks are overpriced. Buy a new BMW…and drive it off the lot. It’s already depreciated 20%. If someone can afford this truck and wants to buy it…good for them. I can’t afford this, but went for the 2023 GMC Elevation trim. Couldn’t be happier💯👍🏽❤️🇺🇸🦾
The Ultimate comes standard with the 6.2L, but you can get the 3.0 LZO as an option, and get this: you end up paying $1500 less! I'm all about a diesel, and 30+ mpg was a no-brainer for me!
Be sure to check out part 2 of this comprehensive review where I take the Denali Ultimate out on a road trip and put Super Cruise through the paces. I also crunch real-world fuel economy numbers for the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine!🤔
See it here:

I’m your 200 sub major😳…….who hooooo!! 😂🙌🏽
And you are very much appreciated, Dennis! I'll do my best to make some good content very soon, so stick around and stay put! 😊
Does gm still produce the Denali ultimate with the 6.2 or 5.3?
@johnanonymous6218 Yes, it comes standard with the 6.2L and I believe the 5.3 is an option as well but I may be wrong about the latter.
BOTH !!!
I just bought one in Downpour Metallic. Thank you for your service!
Congrats! You'll love this truck!!
Reserve package 22 denali here. No cylinder deactivation love it!
How much mpg on highway?
I absolute loooove your review! You explained many things others dont except under the hood. Im a lady andI love this truck, beautiful! Saludos from Puerto Rico!!!
Thanks so much for the nice words. I would have explained the engine but the video was running a bit long so I had to cut that portion out. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope you stick around for future content!
Good to see someone who donated so much the GMC share holders...thanks, sir!
What can I say, I'm a sucker for a pretty truck! 😁
Funny. Mary Barra appreciates donating to her Multi Million dollar salary, not to mention her Bonus every year.
@markmanning5683 What's your point exactly? The same could be said for Ford, Ram and toyota.
Awesome review, Major! Looking forward to seeing your channel grow!
Thanks a ton! Stay tuned for my road test and Super Cruise demo coming soon!!
I dumped Chevy ( had three Silverados), just bought a Tundra 1794 for $71K, it’s beautiful, check them out
@michaelmancini5773 The Tundra was on my shortlist, and i wanted to like it but i just couldn't get past a few things.
@studsauce7803 That sucks for him, but you're a good friend for towing his stuff!
Thx u for your service. Dad did 23 years in the navy
Thanks for the support and for watching! It was a pleasure to serve!!
This ur Ferrari bro , for work you buy a used car , that’s that
I am more for the new RAM Limited with the I - 6 block, but I have to say, GMC looks so much better then the RAM.
Thank you for your service! Excellent review! The manual sunroof shade is a major bummer!
I take my Ultimate on the beach constantly. I’ve never gotten stuck with the stock tires
How do you like the bug guard does it work to reduce bugs on the windshield? Do you have a link to where you got it from?
The reason the still put the “80’s antenna” on them is for parking garages. It will let you know if the roof will clear or not.
The antenna goes higher than the pickup lol
For a reason too. The Parking Structure thing is true.
Thank you for your service! 🏆
Much appreciated
I just got a 2023 Denali Duramax white frost tricoat a few months ago and I really enjoy it. Nice video!!
Thank you, and congrats on an awesome truck! How about that incredible fuel economy from that Duramax?!!!
@@TMRI1970I’m loving it I can really tell the difference
Does your truck have a wait to start when it’s cold outside
@Cumminspower365 It hasn't been that cold yet but I'm sure it will have a glo-plug warming count down when the Temps dip below 40F degrees. My cummins had that when it got cold.
Great review! I was stationed at Keesler many years ago. Awesome area.

Any GMC Denali is a beautiful truck as far as I'm concerned! Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Thanks to Biden & Trudeau & their “climate change” bs we got cylinder deactivation to make these engines “compliant” which is causing issues.
The bed light switch isn’t in the bed but it is there to the left of the steering column in the cabin. Even my slt has it
Yes, I'm aware of the switch to the lower left of the steering column but there should be one in the bed as well! I've since remedied that oversight with my truck! 😊
I have a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado RST AND I LOVE IT But the price is paid for it was crazy paid $62,605 like you said pay to play. Before i bought this truck i owned a 2021 ram cummins and had transmission problems as well
on 1500s hands down GMC has nicest looking trucks, i am a big fan of square look as well.......Ram has a square back end and bubbly front end, previous gen Rams with the semi looking front end was horrid.....I like the hood to be flat as well.......24 GMC 2500 is best looking 3/4 ton as well
have a 23 Silverado High Country 2500HD and dont think ill ever go back to 1500 though, I need bed space and capacity and they ride really nice considering
beautiful truck man!
I bought the exact same truck in November, except I went with the 6.2L gas engine.
I test drove the 6.2L and really loved the engine...lots of power! I was more interested in fuel economy, though, so in the end, the Baby Max got me. Thanks for watching, and commenting, I really appreciate it!
Love love love this truck! I haven’t been a fan of silver but on this truck this is Uh. Ma. Zing! Love the 3.0 and the ultimate trim. A++
Love that truck I just bought a silverado trail boss but this truck is beautiful enjoy.
Awesome video! Can't wait to see more!

GMC trucks are great. I have a 2004 SLT with only 149,000 miles. The only thing I have changed so far is a valve cover.
Wow, that's very impressive! I definitely hope to have the same experience you've had with your GMC. What engine does your truck have?
@@TMRI1970 5.3 L Flex fuel.
@@TMRI1970 I should have noted that I bought the truck in 2006. I am the second owner.
I have owned 5 Denali 2010, 2016, & 2020 Denali 1500. Now 2022 2500 & 2024 ultimate Denali 2500!! My Current Model 2500 ultimate Denali 2024. 😊😊😊😊😊
Wow, that's a very impressive collection! I absolutely love my truck, it's easily my favorite of all time. Thanks for sharing and watching!
I just purchased a new ‘24 1500 AT4 with the Duramax. May I please have a link to the ‘stubby’ antenna? Thank you.
They're on Amazon
Beautiful truck. Thanks for sharing. Keep us posted (reliability & longevity).
Thanks for the comment and for watching! I'll definitely post updates addressing both of those concerns over the next few months after the new truck "honeymoon" wears off. Stay tuned!
I just bought the '24 SLT. I didn't know about the running boards on the Denali. Those are pretty awesome.
Nice review..looking forward to the accessories to trick it out👍🏼
Coming soon! 😁
many people don't realize that if you just use a truck for transportation and comfort the 5.3 is available. this eliminates the cost of premium fuel and the costs of diesel and def fluid. i have 200k trouble free miles on my truck using 87 octane
That's good to hear that the 5.3L has been reliable for you. Hopefully you'll get another 100K trouble-free miles going forward.
5.3 is NOT avail on the Denali Ultimate. Only the 3.0 diesel or for $1500 more, the 6.2 gas
1 thank you for your service Sir. 2. Nice truck 😊 at that price it should have EVERYTHING even a portapotty
That's sucks!! What engine did you have replaced?
These automakers are putting cheap junk ass parts into them, these replies by multiple people I’ve read of trannys , engines failing is why I’m not getting out of my 2010 Sierra Denali my 6.2 is the L9H and DOES NOT HAVE AFM…all 1500 trucks in the 07-13’ body with 6.0 and 6.2 (Denali got the 6.2 early for 07) don’t have afm. The 5.3 did and they had trouble as far back as 2007. …I would love a new one but too scared… everything’s overpriced junk now..
Well thought out truck overall. Fan of that sliver metallic color
Thank you brother, hope to have you watching in the future!
in a world where a Raptor R is $115,000, a Denali Ultimate which comes with every option for 86,000 in 2023 sounds like a good deal.
It's crazy to say that, but you're absolutely correct. Wild automotive times we're currently living in!
@@michaeljordan4571not really FORD offers more features than GMC or RAM or the TUNDRA
Very nice truck and good review much better than that Dodge
No doubt!
Nice beakdown brotha! But....are you ready to play a game show? 😂
You already know!😅
The switch for your bed lights is on your left knee light switch.
You mentiina tinneau cover. Which model are you thinking?
Thanks
After zooming in on your video, I couldn’t find a switch, but maybe there is - somewhere 🙄
Add-On: found it: left side of wheel in the “lighting control”, go figure.😂😂
The lights on the bed interior they turn on from
The dash board i have the same truck but on onyx black
80g should come with painted wheel flares standard !!
I tend to agree with you on that! However, in my case the black provides a nice contrast to the silver and looks quite nice in my opinion. Thanks for the comment and also for watching!
Bought the 2024 Sierra AT4 instead. Loved the lift and less chrome.
Some other features missing...
1. Panoramic Sun Room (electric) & entire back window slides down (electric as well)
2. Reclining foot/leg rest option for all passenger seats, maybe for driver also during cruise control when truck is driving itself
3. Mood lighting /color changing for interior floors and some mood frangrance built into AC system that sends mist into system from bottles you install, have 5 at a time to choose from.
Also, mini electric cooler built into the back seat that slides out or could be drop down into middle part of seat
4. Make bed step wider and drop to ground level, press button and it auto lifts you to level of bed entrance
5. Seat TV's for back passengers & front passenger inside mirror to convert to TV screen and back to mirror with push of button, the mirror could adjust to a larger size when in tv mode, 10-12 inch or so
Those engineers aren't stupid, they are consumers like us; they are holding out on all the real Rolls Royce tech. to get sales, they very slowly add a new feature here and there.
Beautiful Truck! Lets hope reliable.
I hope so too!
Beautiful truck? o.0
Two tone chrome sucks, the jumbo running lights are lame, Frankenstein stitching is horrible, smallest screen giving off strong little man syndrome. Beautiful truck??? 😂😂😂😂
@@TMRI1970
I'm kind of the same as far as being torn between the 6.2 and the Duramax.
I have the blue 23 denali ultimate i love it best truck hands down
I agree 100%...and I've owned the competition! 😁
Thanks for the comments, I have heard the same about DEF usage while towing. Do you have an LZ0 or the LM2?
I have the high country love it. The ultimate is beautiful enjoy it
Also a very nice choice!
All the Denali Ultimate do have the same interior. The only real option you have is 6.2 or LZ0 and paint color. They all have the same interior.
The 8's are going to 6's, the 6's to 4's, and the entire line will soon be electronic .
very beautiful truck but what I love the must is that LZ0 Duramax engine I have a 2023 Silverado 1500 with the same engine
Nice choice with the Silverado/LZO...great truck and engine combo!
Thanks for your service.

Press the unlock button on your Key Fob, and that will turn on both your bed lights. At least, that's what my ZR2 Silverado does.
@@TMRI1970 The top right button(button has a truck with a light over it) over the headlight dial, turns on the bed lights.
The switch for cargo area is in truck, left of steering wheel
That's correct, however, there's not one located in the bed, and that's my issue. Ford and Ram both have push-button switches that activate the light from the tailgate area. GMC left this switch out for some reason. Thanks for watching!👍
I have a 2023 Ultimate and after owning it for about 6 months I am not convinced it was worth the money.
That sucks. What specifically don't you like about it? Would a $90K F150 be any better? Seriously would like to know.
@@TMRI1970 I have had issues with the radio system on and off (just stops producing sound completely to include the blinker sounds until I hard reset) and I just think the price is to high for the overall quality. I have been a GM buyer for more than 20 years and I feel like I might look at the lower trims in the future.
@@rickbauer1867 that's fair considering the issues you're having. I'm not sure any of these trucks are worth what we're asked to pay.
Your back lights has a switch it’s the cargo switch turns them on and off which works awesome
Yup, you're correct however there needs to be another one in the bed at the tailgate, which was my main complaint all along.
I was going to buy a Sierra Denali 1500, it sticker’s at $79,500.00, then I test drove and bought a Tundra 1794 with TRD off road package, a more luxurious truck with off road chops , for $8200.00 less, and boy is it powerful.
The 1794 is a nice choice for the Tundra and probably the trim I would buy.
Thanks, very helpful Video!
Good review thanks for your input Sir.
From one Major to another, excuse me if I missed it, but I am thinking the vehicle does not have a 12 volt power outlet. Am I correct?
It does have a 12V outlet in the center console. I may have missed covering that in the video. Thanks for the comment and also for watching!
Ford has the Platinum as the best, but seems like every other year they have a Limited as the best one. I think currently no Limited but now the King Ranch and Platinum the same price.
Not mentioned much is the tail gate lock out so it won't open
Push the top button hold till the park light s flash 5 times same to unlock unlock
I wish you could get the higher end trucks with cloth seats. I never liked leather. It's hot in the summer and cold and stiff in the winter. Even with the heat and cool functions, I prefer cloth.
Great for runnin to Target and Burnin gas. Send it bud.
I burn diesel, but you made your point...
Very nice truck and review! Love a lot of the features it has, but your right about NO light in glove compartment being stupid!🙄 I have that issue with my vehicle. Well guess it’s time for hubby to buy me a newer one!😊
I know, no glove compartment light is a bummer esp for Denali n up being pricy. But you could use your vanity mirror light if you have to.
Its amazing, people will pay anything these days.
Very well said, brother! Congrats on your GMC!!!
That thing has the 3l dramax option?!😀 ohhh boy…. I thought it was 6.2l only.
The Ultimate comes standard with the 6.2L, but you can get the 3.0 LZO as an option, and get this: you end up paying $1500 less! I'm all about a diesel, and 30+ mpg was a no-brainer for me!
Great looking truck 😊
