Doctor Mike, you should watch another episode! Also this show is based on a real person and he actually DID fire the entire cardiac department on his first day lol
YES! Thank you for writing this comment! You can't judge this show based on one episode. Honestly I got a little frustrated with how judgemental dr mike was while I never have that with him judging any other show. With this one it's just not true

Bellevue huh. My mother has been going to that hospital for the last 2 years because of her heart issues. They have been nothing but good to her. You can tell how much respect and care the doctors have for their patients.

I loved the part where they started putting masks on and he went "Is it malaria? TB? Ebola?" and the woman goes "We have a patient showing signs of Malaria, TB, or Ebola" Lollllll XD Im dying
Maybe this show isn't perfect when it comes to medical stuff but this show is about caring, love , friendship, hope, fighting , .. I just love this show . It warms the heart in a strange way . One of my fav shows ever ❤️
It’s also WAYYY too dramatic for a PROFESSIONAL, MEDICINE-BASED work environment ngl. dont get me wrong i LOVEEE new amsterdam it’s just really way too much drama
It also covers a much wider societal issues connected to healthcare like treatment of undocumented migrants (if hospitals rat em out, migrants will avoid hospitals which worsens their health), private health insurance pitfalls, public vs private hospitals, pharmaceutical products being too expensive for a patient to continue existing, monopoly of pharmaceutical giants in R&D etc
I’m a nurse on a trauma/gen surg floor, and what you said about surgeons doing unnecessary procedures is spot on. We had a surgeon who only practiced at our hospital for a short time, but he was incredible at putting the patient first and doing what’s most conservative. He started treating small bowel obstructions with oral contract because it promotes peristalsis. It was incredible to watch these patients improve over a day or two vs being in the hospital for a week with bowel complications. We need more surgeons like that.
One of my patients (I treat their varicose ulcer) told me about a time they went to the hospital, it was a teaching hospital so the doctor brought some medical students with her.. The doctor asked the students what they saw, and they immediately went for the physical symptoms. Never acknowledging the patient as a human being, never saying hi, asking how the patient was doing, just seing a body with a problem.. This is a patient that is extremely nervous of doctors, it's so important to remember to be a fellow human.
Lise Normann I see that a lot as well. I see that difference especially amongst medical students versus nursing students who ask the patients questions and get to know them on a more personal level. Most doctors really are brilliant but like he has said in a previous episode, they spent so much time with their noses in books for obvious reasons that they forgot how personalize situations. Thankfully, nurses are there to pull the two together! ☺️ We are all a team and are working towards a common goal!
Nameless and Shameless they’re there to learn patient care, that includes good bedside manners. They wouldn’t interrupt the doctor by addressing the patient before listing the symptoms.
as a patient I would've asked them directly to see me as a human being. I hate medical staff do that. as a person I come in with a problem, scared worried. the doctor looks at me and sees but the problem. suddenly I am the problem. all I am in that moment is sick. horrible feeling and it makes me wonder if some doctors become medicine over time
As a patient, I have been subjected to this during labor and my son was in distress. It has dramatically changed how i am as a health care provider and how I treat my patients and their families. I take my role as a nurse seriously and try to remember the human, not the disease
Just wanted to tell you that I found your channel through your Doctor reacts to Grey’s Anatomy video and I couldn’t stop watching since! Keep up the Doctor reacts series, it’s so amazing!!
I know in so many of your videos you tell doctors to 'be human' and to be honest and treat the patient as a person, this is something I really appreciate. A few years back I was diagnosed with what's called minimal change disease - a very rare kidney problem for someone my age at least (was 19 at the time) and it took four months to get the treatment I needed because the doctors kept brushing me off as a hysterical teenager who was only gaining weight 'like most people due when they turn twenty'. The day I was admitted into the hospital, i had gone the day before because I was starting to have trouble breathing and this doctor found fluid in my lungs (I had accumulated so much excess fluid since my kidneys were storing the fluid instead of getting rid of it that there was nowhere else to put it but my lungs) but he still sent me home despite my protests. I came back the next day because I could no longer walk or feel my legs and had collapsed on the sidewalk. The same doctor saw me again and still brushed off my concern saying that I was 'fine' so the nurse who had been with me since I arrived called for another doctor. This Doctor arrived ten minutes after my dad (who was at work and got called when the ambulance picked me up) took one look at me, turned to my dad since he could see I was hysterical and told him; 'I'm not trying to scare you but we need to admit your daughter right now. I believe her organs are starting to shut down, she could be dying. At the very least her heart isn't circulating the blood to her legs which is why they're discoloured and she's not breathing properly. We need to start treating her for these problems while we find out what's really going on.' This meant the word to me because he treated me as a person and actually started to treat me and saw that I was indeed a very sick woman and not just a hysterical teenager. He thought it was probably my kidneys and explained this to me before he did the biopsy to find out it was minimal change disease. He saved my life and was honest with me and my family from the start which I value so much. Sorry that this is so long, but it just stuck with me and like you say, some doctors get so caught up in routine and fail to communicate with the patients and it can lead to situations like mine. So, having a doctor treat me like a human being and tell me what was going on - every step of the way really helped make it a lot less scary and gave me so much hope. So thank you. Great job with the videos. Keep up the great work.
I have fallen in love with this show. I love how it shows the humanity of the medical field and different departments within the hospital... I understand the hospital is a business but it's still dealing with other human beings and their lives and the lives of families
You need to watch the New Amsterdam episode where a child with ODD is prescribed traditional antipsychotics. They tackle a ton off different issues and even doctors testifying. Another shower you need to watch is the Resident, and the ethical issues that go on in medical care.
I just started watching this show, the child ur talking about really got to me I'm on like episode 4. I wanna start the resident but damn im already watching greys, good doctor and now new Amsterdam lol New Amsterdam really gets you all up in the feels or whatever the kids say nowadays lol
@@jameson1239 you'd be surprised the missteps that get made in prescribing medication for psychiatric conditions - and I'm not being critical of the doctors here, but diagnoses can vary a hell of a lot. Also some medication is prescribed "off label" - so for example one of my prescriptions is seroquel, an antipsychotic, but for me it's meant to tackle depression and insomnia. And for me it works well! On the other hand, give my sister seroquel and she loses her mind and has a really bad reaction. It's not as easy as saying "these medicines are for x which clearly has different symptoms to y" because you don't know the patient history or what symptoms the prescription is trying to address.
I have a suggestion for your "Real Doctor Reacts" series. You've mention a few times how the medical world is constantly evolving, so I was thinking it would be cool to look at some really old medical tv dramas, (like from the 60's through the 80's) and see how much medicine has changed over the last 50 years or so. I can only name a few shows like M.A.S.H, Emergency!, St. Elsewhere, and General Hospital. Not sure if any of these would work for your series though, but I figured that I would just throw them out there.
I became a fan of medical shows because of House. What I love about New Amsterdam is that one of the main characters is a psychologist. I find this form of medicine fascinating and very under-represented in medical entertainment. As a programmer, I think of surgery as hardware repair (swapping HDD or RAM) where psychology is like debugging software.
I had a really awesome interaction with a patient yesterday when I acted as a human instead of as only the blood test lady. While checking the patient's details, I confirmed with her that she was an inpatient at a local psychiatric hospital. I recognised the hospital because I was a patient there too, and I casually mentioned to her I had been a patient there too. I asked her how it was since the renovation. She thanked me for being open about it because she had been really struggling with feelings of stigma and shame, and to have me, a random health professional casually mention I had been a patient there too had just helped with that stigma. Then we continued the conversation about stigma, the choice to tell friends, how lonely it is when friends don't understand and why it feels safer not to tell them. After I had taken her blood, I told her "I don't know if you need to be reminded of this, but it gets better" she nodded, and I continued "when I was there, I knew it could get better, but I was in so much pain I didn't think it would be worth it. I thought the amount of pain I am in right now isn't worth the effort it will take to get better, but I was wrong, it was worth it." Then I asked her if she would like a hug and gave her a big hug, rubbing her back and telling her "you have got this." She told me I had made her day, but she made my day too. It is moments like that where I love my job.
amazing what happens when you actually do your job properly and treat patients like \REAL HUMANS rather than just a number and dollar signs. hiopefully that interaction will now mean you treat people properly from now on rather than just treat them like a robot. its crazy tha tyou are so suprised and shocked at how good it was to treat a patient like a human for once. clearly youve been doing your job extremly poorly for so long now youve become so numb to it. cant believe there are so many awful awful medical pros around. YOU ARE THE NUMBER 1 issue with heathcare 99% of you just dont care and dont treat patients liike people you just treat them like DIRT AND MONEY
I love meeting people like you in the medical field. I've been treated like a problem, told I was faking, told I was a drug seeking, ignored. I absolutely understand how hard the profession is but most of us don't want to pester our doctors or seem like a problem. That's how serious medical issues are overlooked. Overworked professional and a patient who doesn't want to complain. It's a recipe for disaster. Patients want to feel like they are talking to another person.
@@feraltaco4783 Absolutely, and despite how stressful the job may be, it is never an excuse or justification to not treat people like human beings. I think for a very long time, doctors considered conditions they couldn't test for to not be real. They decided the patients were imagining their symptoms instead of accepting that biomedicine isn't perfect, and we just don't have the knowledge and technology to test for everything yet. But that doesn't mean it isn't real. When patients are made to feel like their symptoms aren't real, they either accept and ignore them, or get labelled a hypochondriac and even if they try to seek help, just get patted on the head and sent home. Hope you are doing better and have found some decent health professionals, they are out there.
The doctor on who’s bio this is based actually did fire the whole cardiology department when he became medical director at Bellevue-Dr Eric Mannheimer, author of Twelve Patients...
I can find nothing out there backing this up. Even the part of the book I have found don’t say anything about him firing the entire department. Literally a 5 minute google search shows this. Not to mention as is said, you can’t just fire people like that it requires a lot of paperwork and you would quickly find yourself out of the job as well.
2months late but: www.crainsnewyork.com/asked-answered/former-bellevue-medical-director-finds-second-career-tv-writer That was a 20second google search.
Natsu Dragneel is that was a reply to my comment proving he fired an entire department then good job.... I already read that article back when I posted my comment. It does not say he fired an entire department he says he closed the program down for a year, he specifically says it was to build something better. So more than likely non-essential staff may have lost their jobs but all the doctors and nurses, nope. I think in other articles I read it says how he worked with them to build a better program. So yeah nice try but once again you can not find anything that actually says he fired everyone, only that he closed the program down which does not equal firing everyone.
General Grievous no it doesn’t. Closing a program doesn’t mean anyone got fired. Considering he then says how he worked with them to make it better it’s likely they just got moved to different areas in the hospital or moved onto the new program of creating a better program. So again there is no evidence he fired an entire department and he never says he fired an entire department. Prorframs in hospitals get shut down that doesn’t mean every doctor and nurse involved gets fired. They get shifted with maybe a few fired. Not an entire departments worth.
SO. TRUE. My dad was having hip issues. Doctor 1: "You need hip replacement." Doctor 2: What? No. Good lord. Do X, Y, and Z and that should help." Guess what? DIDN'T NEED HIP REPLACEMENT.
I’m in my early 20’s, and I’m going to need a hip replacement soon unfortunately. I’m so happy that your dad was able to have his hip taken care of without surgery. It’s definitely a weird feeling knowing your hip won’t be the same soon enough.
I feel you I have relapsing polychondritis and even tho all joints affected, the shoulder was first, I already had one surgery before the condition, but then had a surgery every 9 months for 5yrs = 6 in 5, sucked - last one was replacement... But been offered to have other shoulder, hips, knees, and ankles done too but I'm done, no more surgeries unless they are life threatening... I say pain meds, ice, exercise - surgeons say "pills aren't a permanent fix" but after 5 regular surgeries & one horrid experimental surgery on the one arm to still be in major daily pain... Surgeries aren't a permanent fix either in my opinion. 😉😁😢😎🤐
As I was listening to his comments, I kept having the thought that it's not fair to evaluate the small clip or scene on its own, because it's part of a larger story that's being told in the show. In the end, and his closing remarks, it sounds like he got that, which was encouraging.
Watch Nurse Jackie! You mentioned once you wished they showed that its not the drs that do every thing and how they shouldn't leave them out.It was a great show and based around the nurses .
Please please please Dr Mike can you make a video dedicated to neuro stuff? Like mental illness, psychos, hypnosis, and anything super interesting about the brain! That would be AMAAAZING! Keep making those amazing videos!
A real bummer that the coming season of The Good Doctor goes to costly Amazon Prime TV. Well, so far still have the other two, all three great shows, about medical situations for the most part, no staff having sex with staff.
I think you should react to Cells at Work, more specifically the allergies episode. This anime is pretty spot on with how the human body works and makes it even better by combining it with humor.
The "Remember you are taking care of a human being" part is so important. I'm glad you said something about it. Until my most recent doctor I was someone who was terrified of going to the doctors or even dentists because I somehow always ended up with someone who didn't remember that. My dentist wouldn't even speak to me. He would talk to the nurse over me and refer to me as "Patient" and wouldn't even really look at me. My doctors would do similar things. For example I had the swine flu (sp?) and had to have a very long swab put up my nose to test for it. I was terrified and the doctor just grabbed my arm and shoved it up with little to no warning. It hurt very badly and scared me (I was maybe 12 or 13). After when I was trying not to cry she just said "You're fine." and left the room. The wonderful doctor I have now gives me pep talks on being happy and when I had to explain a night terror I had to her and began to cry (I'm a baby I know) she hugged me and wiped my face with a tissue. I'm 17 now but I felt like a toddler all over again and she didn't shame me for it. She waited for me to calm down then even went as far as to compliment my eye color. Things like this can make a world of a difference for patients. Chances are if they are there something is going wrong in their life so a little kindness and compassion meaning everything. (I know I totally just went on a useless rant but oh well cx)
Thanks for sharing your experiences. You didn't "just go on a rant" you shared your story and why "Being human first" is so important while being a medical professional.
I"m glad you finally found someone who treats you like a person. If someone treated me the way yours treated you I would stop going and find another. That's a terrible way to deal with others.
Tkanks so much for your sharing as a med student, i could benefit from your experience. Because most of the time in our lessons patients are usually referred as complex machines that needs to be fixed. And focusing on that part makes some doctors forget that there is a human being behind that shell.
I'm an engineer, but everyone in my family are doctors! I can relate with so many things you mention! I recommended your channel to my cousin who is a paediatrician :D Keep it up! you are amazing! PS... this video is so old so not sure you'll see this :( but you are amazing and thanks for all the teaching! :D
As an OB nurse and midwife hopeful, I can say it’s very accurate! Some discrepancies of course (due to the times), but as far as accuracy it’s been the most accurate.
Here's the real reason for unhealthy food in hospitals: Hospitals outsource meals and cafeteria goods to the lowest bidders, especial public hospitals that can't afford a good service on donations alone. The thing that irks me the most is that these companies that provide meals to the hospitals are STILL TRYING TO PROFIT off of doctors, nurses, and sick people.
So kept seeing people asking for Cells at Work. Did a little research on it and it's actually a really creative way on showing how the inner body works on protecting the body. Cells at Work seems like it would be a good Doctor Reacts episode.
I enjoyed this show and yes, would like to see more of your reactions, but I also think the same of a lot of other doctor shows you've seen. And despite the things that I knew were untrue like what you can and cannot do against policy ect. I loved the fact that, so far at least, their aren't huge story lines based on romance. So far it seems to be a C or D story line at best.
Romashk That wouldn't bother me as long as those types of story lines stay more of a back burner arcs and plots and keep the medicine as the main story. It thinking along the lines of how the television show ER used to do it.
Buffy8Fan Yeah, I hope this won't be another Grace memorial hot bed too. It's just that there are hints for a romantic subplot of the main character. This actor being good at relationship drama, for one. I wouldn't set myself up for this being strictly medicine drama, is all.
If you want to watch something a little more different, try watching 'Cells at Work' :D it's an anime that's based inside a human body and the main character is a red blood cell!
Wednesday's check up sounds cool, but what about Wednesday's episode of care. And also has anyone ever told you look like a preventricular contraction, because you make my heart skip a beat❤️❤️❤️
4:00 Dr.Mike makes a great point about encouraging patients to ask questions to their doctors. The problem is most patients fear the doctors will get upset at them and it will ruin the "relationships" if it really exists at some level. I ask many questions to my doctors because the more I know the better I can adjust my life to suit the doctors' treatments. But sometimes some doctors just get irritated answering me and diss my questions. That's why most patients dare not to speak up. If most doctors learn to communicate better and learn that we patients need to know more about our conditions so we can be better patients to them. We don't ask just to bug your ego but we ask because we want the best outcome, the same thing as you, doctors.
Over a year later, I still love this show. I think some of the scenarios presented are a little ridiculous sometimes, but I do like that they show doctors as human beings first.
yes doctors or nurses or pharmacist in our families constantly scare us wd big medical terms, to really get under ur skin... Dr. Mike keeps it real n fresh

My husband and I started watching it a couple of years ago, my husband had been diagnosed with SCC of the tongue and he was a Medical Director of a hospital, so it hit us hard. My husband passed away in October 2019, he was 56. I am totally lOST WITHOUT HIM TO THIS DAY. I have carried on watching NA as we both loved it so much, but I wish my husband was here watching it with me :-(
You asked "How does she know that" about the cancer: He had the throat biopsy done at the beginning of the episode, and she is the hospital's big famous oncologist. She's probably the one who reviewed the results.
I love this show and would definitely enjoy more responses to other episodes! Although New Amsterdam resolves systemic issues unrealistically quickly, I enjoy the attention it brings to these real-world topics.
Please watch Cells At Work (Anime)!!!! It's based off of a manga by the same name and is filled with a lot of information that basically saved my biology grade.
Lol I promise when I watched New Amsterdam on Hulu I wondered what Dr. Mike would think about it. I think it's a cool show because it's based off a true story of that Medical Director
8:23: True dat for the more I watch these videos, the more shocking & appalling I've been treated by the majority of my provider's when I started deteriorating in 2018 & as I progressively became more disabled the worse I've been treated so I'm very grateful to this National Treasure, his attitude & content.❤😊
It would be cool to see you react and watch show called "Cells at work" Dont know if it's too childish, but it is mean to be an educational show with accurate workings of the human body.
It's almost eerie at how the entire comment section in this video is just recommending a single anime. Regardless, I'm interested in watching New Amsterdam now at the very least.
Looking through the comments and all you see is: “CELLS AT WORK!” And “you should watch cells at work! (It’s an anime)”. And I’m like hey, can you please consider answering more questions? Thanks!
I like how Mike can just watch the scene with a completely stone cold face and reply with ‘how does she know?’ Without laughing

I literally watched this episode before watching this video just so I could watch your reaction video to it. I'm a fan too so far, and from the next episode's preview it looks like a lot happens so quickly, but I like the characters and I'm hoping there will be some medical accuracies. I love medicine dramas that are accurate because I get to learn new things while being entertained and helps me to further investigate. If it weren't for House and Grey's Anatomy I wouldn't know how to recognize when someone is having a stroke and how to handle a person who is having a seizure. So I appreciate you doing these reactions so I know what's what. Thanks!
J Saadati That's actually a thought a lot of people have. But in reality when someone doesn't have a pulse and chest compression's are asked for the person is dead and there's not really any damage worse than that. At least that's how I was taught to look at it. In situations where no pulse is not the case then yes you can do damage.
J Saadati I mean, in the first episode of The Resident, Dr Pravesh, kept doing chest compressions to a girl who was already almost dead. He saved her life but she ended up brain dead
The firing of the cardiac department actually did happen. New Amsterdam is based on the book "Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellvue Hospital" by their former medical director, Eric Manheimer. He made sweeping changes that brought the hospital out of bankruptcy all while undergoing chemo for throat cancer. A fantastic read. The specifics of patients are fictionalized in the show but the admin and personal 'beefs' are based on his actual tenure at the hospital.

Burnt-Marshmallow-S'more 🤣🤣
Just wasn’t how it happened was it?
WTF
I was confused at first when they said "masks" and then malaria. Like that's not how malaria is spread🤷🏾♀️😅
My hospital has a Mcdonals. Oh the irony.
That sounds awesome
Look at the bright side after going to the hospital you can eat something that might kill you someday
Lol mine has a Starbucks
Mine has Burger King, subway and Starbucks
Mine has a cafeteria with a food court
I’m a nurse on a trauma/gen surg floor, and what you said about surgeons doing unnecessary procedures is spot on. We had a surgeon who only practiced at our hospital for a short time, but he was incredible at putting the patient first and doing what’s most conservative. He started treating small bowel obstructions with oral contract because it promotes peristalsis. It was incredible to watch these patients improve over a day or two vs being in the hospital for a week with bowel complications. We need more surgeons like that.

Me too! Yeah how realistic is it!?
K
This is why I’m going to be a surgeon , I’m not extremely good with people

We need to start treating her for these problems while we find out what's really going on.'
This meant the word to me because he treated me as a person and actually started to treat me and saw that I was indeed a very sick woman and not just a hysterical teenager.
The Resident is quite realistic ♥
he already reacted to the resident
I’m pretty sure you can’t treat ODD with antipsychotics and I’m also pretty sure psychosis and ODD don’t have similar systems
Oh that would be amazing!
Really great idea!
Good idea. Chicago Hope was a really good show back in the day.
Awesome idea
I’d love to see him take on Emergency! I know medical technology has changed since the 70’s, but it would make a good medical history video.
And debugging software is INFINITELY harder.
I saw a commercial for this show a couple of days ago and I immediately thought of Doctor Mike!

@@danielshine9303 All I hear is you crying about how random medical professionals don’t make you feel special.
@@ghostnebula8805more like wanting to be treated like a person instead of a chart. Nothing wrong with that.
2months late but:
www.crainsnewyork.com/asked-answered/former-bellevue-medical-director-finds-second-career-tv-writer
That was a 20second google search.
General Grievous see me new reply or as the kids say, get rekted son
General Grievous no it doesn’t. Closing a program doesn’t mean anyone got fired. Considering he then says how he worked with them to make it better it’s likely they just got moved to different areas in the hospital or moved onto the new program of creating a better program. So again there is no evidence he fired an entire department and he never says he fired an entire department. Prorframs in hospitals get shut down that doesn’t mean every doctor and nurse involved gets fired. They get shifted with maybe a few fired. Not an entire departments worth.
SO. TRUE. My dad was having hip issues.

I’m in my early 20’s, and I’m going to need a hip replacement soon unfortunately.
I’m so happy that your dad was able to have his hip taken care of without surgery. It’s definitely a weird feeling knowing your hip won’t be the same soon enough.

Same. I think cause the show is based on a true story, we are attached and feel like it's all real.
As I was listening to his comments, I kept having the thought that it's not fair to evaluate the small clip or scene on its own, because it's part of a larger story that's being told in the show. In the end, and his closing remarks, it sounds like he got that, which was encouraging.

I think you should react to Cells at Work, more specifically the allergies episode. This anime is pretty spot on with how the human body works and makes it even better by combining it with humor.
YES! Every Wednesday! I've been wanting to watch New Amsterdam too.
I get your point and this might have been a typo on your part but dentists don't work with nurses. They work with dental hygienists.
Awh thats sad. All my dentists and doctors were really nice
Tkanks so much for your sharing as a med student, i could benefit from your experience. Because most of the time in our lessons patients are usually referred as complex machines that needs to be fixed. And focusing on that part makes some doctors forget that there is a human being behind that shell.

Heres my explanation for unhealthy food in hospitals, Dr. Mike:
Comfort food
Thanks for coming to my ted talk
They can offer comfort food as a secondary option while focusing on healthy food
Here's the real reason for unhealthy food in hospitals:
Hospitals outsource meals and cafeteria goods to the lowest bidders, especial public hospitals that can't afford a good service on donations alone. The thing that irks me the most is that these companies that provide meals to the hospitals are STILL TRYING TO PROFIT off of doctors, nurses, and sick people.
healthy food is my confort food
So kept seeing people asking for Cells at Work. Did a little research on it and it's actually a really creative way on showing how the inner body works on protecting the body. Cells at Work seems like it would be a good Doctor Reacts episode.
I have seen this one mentioned so many times that I might just go ahead and investigate it myself
It's anime I'm glad you liked it 😁
Yes I agree. Cells at work would make for an entertaining doctor reacts episode.
YES! I’m absolutely in love with this show and love Max’s character
Holy shizzles you pinned my comment!!! I’m shook
Well, him being at odds with his wife/lover and actively chasing publicity rep, is kind of a hint on a future plot line.
"Its all wings, burgers, fries. The most unhealthy food you could imagine"
Well i know where im going for dinner tomorrow

Wednesday's check up sounds cool, but what about Wednesday's episode of care. And also has anyone ever told you look like a preventricular contraction, because you make my heart skip a beat❤️❤️❤️
best pick up line ever.
You must get an Oscar for this line !!!
Woo~ LOVE. That.
Lol. I love this comment so much. :3
From what I've heard and read about recently, it sounds like their fears are justified.
MOST patient? how do you know
Over a year later, I still love this show. I think some of the scenarios presented are a little ridiculous sometimes, but I do like that they show doctors as human beings first.

That woman's always hanging out with cool selfless doctors who want to help others :D
Yes!! I love her
Taylan Childers yassssss
8:23: True dat for the more I watch these videos, the more shocking & appalling I've been treated by the majority of my provider's when I started deteriorating in 2018 & as I progressively became more disabled the worse I've been treated so I'm very grateful to this National Treasure, his attitude & content.❤😊
React to untold stories of the ER!
He needs to react to it
yessss!
YESSS
Oh God that show is so overdramatized and terrible acting but hey! I'm all for it!🤷♀️
Yes
It would be cool to see you react and watch show called "Cells at work"
Dont know if it's too childish, but it is mean to be an educational show with accurate workings of the human body.
I saw another doctor do a youtube video on it, I would love to see Mike do it though!
@@justicetexeira Oh cool! Have to see if I can find it, would be nice to watch it!
Every comment is about Cells At Work. I’ve never seen a comment section where everyone is talking about the same thing.
Dr Hope did a reaction video on Cells at Work and people want to see Dr Mike's opinion.
I NEED Dr. Mike merch that says “Be Human First”
No *Chest Compression Chest Compressions*
Aiman Izzudin Why not both?
On different shirts tho lol
It's almost eerie at how the entire comment section in this video is just recommending a single anime. Regardless, I'm interested in watching New Amsterdam now at the very least.
Arley 😅😂 u made me read all the comments. New Amsterdam on my bucket list .Great Vid Doc! Always fun to watch u😊
Right?? It looks like an organized invasion :O
Yeah, me too.
anone anone
Yeah..how did it happen?
Looking through the comments and all you see is: “CELLS AT WORK!” And “you should watch cells at work! (It’s an anime)”. And I’m like hey, can you please consider answering more questions? Thanks!
other question might dilute the comments and he might not see cells at work
Yes, you should make more videos reacting to New Amsterdam. It is a great show and there’s always some new information about Max.
Thanks!
Reneé Lynn I loved house.
Wow never knew there were so many medical shows! Love your videos! Hope to be an amazing doctor like you one day!
Chest compression's, Chest compression's, Chest compression's.....always Chest compression's,
FatalWalkerFilms I wonder if there’s ever a time where chest compressions do more damage than good?
J Saadati Doing on someone who doesn't need chest compression's? like...a friend who ur screwing around with? lol
@@joannasaad298 I mean... if they're old and decrepit, sure? But then they're just gonna die.
Just watched the pilot tonight and was so excited to see your review pop up! I thought it was a great show and would love to see you react to more episodes as it goes on!
I also, love the idea of Wednesday Checkup!
I love your videos, can’t wait for the next Ask Dr. Mike session, those are my favorite!
Hey Doctor Mike. Can you react to the show "The Knick"? Its a historical medical show, and it'll be really cool to see you react to a pretty cool representation of older medical practices!!
I would give this a hundred elebenty trillion votes if I could.
so sad that it got cancelled!!!
The whole "Cells at Work" thing coming in is because another RUclips doc reacted to it a little bit back. I guess people want another doctor to see it.
Havent seen doctor reaction yet, but the anime is gorgeous !
It would be something fun and different for him to react to, no?
I have learned the most important thing. Chest compression, chest compression.
Thanks and keeps doing your good job here :)
I was honestly hoping you would review this show. I was just looking at it this morning and told myself I’d wait for your review cuz I watch allll the medical shows i can and I wanted a real doctors opinion before jumping into a new one
Yay I’m glad I was able to get it up so quickly after the show :)
Please watch another episode of Good Doctor season 1!!!!🙏

Up to today, there’s only 1 ep of season 2 and from medical perspective, some eps from season 1 are more in-depth i feel like
Dr.mike needs to be on Gary Vaynerchuk’s podcast . You would be a great guest on gary’s show . #garyvee
Hieu Vizzle oh yes, i love gary and dr mike is awesome
