The only issue I have with this is that they didn't use ancient pygmachia or pankration.
I thought that the film looked like the Biblical story of Joseph, Jesus' father, but it somehow made a fictional parody out of the New Testament with some action & drama. Did I just see boxing & parkour?

I don't understand are they trying to make this fictional prize fighter Jesus or is Jesus someone he meets later on? If the first is true then this entire movie is an abomination.

I dunno what trailer you watched, but the main character is not in any way implied to be Jesus; Jesus is that other guy teaching the main character to be a carpenter. That's also why the MC has a girlfriend, not being Jesus and all.
