LOL, probably right. I have never ridden a 500 2 stroke but had a 96 CR250R, the 250 I thought was insane enough, a 500 would be totally insane, exspecially in a KX65 frame.
cost me roughly £1500ish give or take , thats excluding my time and man hours . the engine rebuild and new cylinder was the most costly part the rest was reasonable . hope that helps .

Then i should get around 38 to 40hp out of it ! Can't wait to make my mods haha :)
15:1 compression? I highly doubt that will work out. I knew a guy who did custom 14:1 compression leaving it at still 149cc and that was really hard and wasn't very durable. Really hard to do as well, lots of machining to do. Was having jgrmx custom machine my top end and do some work to get higher compression and it's ridiculous..
TCON42499 this was purely a small wheel project as stated before, i have not seen anyone do this before and yet you still get all the people saying do a big wheel version , its a small wheel pitbike :) what else can i say !
could prolly sell for $3-4000 USD considering the parts are used. and there's a good size market for them. we need a person to start a modding company and sell these bad boys haha only concern is range from a smaller gas tank. unless there is a larger aftermarket tank option that would still fit

Hi did you have to do any rear swingarm mod for the engine to fit. I have a cr250 engine and thinking of putting it in a cr85 but unsure what sort of mods/fabs i will have to do and not sure on the differences between the crf150 frame you did to the 85 frame. Fantastic build mate a real beast.
Wayne Skwarek HI Wayne thanks man appreciate the comment , I believe the cr 85 is a single radiator set-up so thats one of the reasons i shied away from it , the swing arm and everything stays the same , the only mod i had to do was get a spacer machined up to fit in the bushes for the swingarm shaft as the 250 is a large diameter where as the 150 is smaller [ cant remember the dimensions ] but easy enough to source and finally i had a rear sprcoket made from talon/renthal uk to fir the crf150 hub but with a 520pitch to accept the 250 chain .thats its man tbh , very easy and well worth it , ill be making another soon :)
brett khaled Thanks for that i have the 85 now so i have weighed up that the swingarm fits the engine and will need a bush for the bolt i was thinking of uprating the rad somehow or adding another but haven't looked at that yet but im sure i will sort it. As for the rear sprocket what sort of price was that to be made if you don't mind me asking? im only short and the 85 is perfect height for me but lacking power of a 250 or 450 so it makes sense to do. Hi Wayne the rear sprocket was around £39 from talon or renthal as I used both . Which is not bad considering , I'm sure you could get them cheaper but I wanted a brand name . Not sure about the new beast yet either , will have to see what I can think up over the next few months .

Stein actually surprisingly well for the power and my height etc I'm 5'10 80kgs with kit but obviously not too great on bigger jumps I did up rate the springs and oil in the end it was basically trial and error my gearing was way off at first so had to have around 5 sprockets made by talon/renthal to overcome the short ratio . Was a fun build I must admit enjoyed it more than all my other cr500/kx500 builds
Im really thinking of building one of these. What was the final gearing you ended up with. Why cant you machine and modify a 520 sprocket to fit? What was the weight difference in motors? Thanks.
D. Stein I used a 520 pitch rear sprocket but it had to be made to fit the 150 rear hub , I think I needed up with 14t front and 31/32 rear it probably could end up 29-30 rear . The 250 engine was around 3-4kgs heavier than the 150 so very close .
Hi Michelle I used new oversized crf 150 rads same volume as std cr250 rads , an no did not have to cut the top frame brace as there was loads of space only the front Y section required moving up as all 4 stroke to 2 stroke conversions are done to allow the exhaust to fit . Hope this helps

Been looking to do something similar to this. Would get a service Honda junior x if they still made them. I was thinking crf 150 or kx 100 frame with 250 2t engines in them would be sick as I'm 5'7" 130-135 lbs. I love my 17 ktm 350 xcf but it would be nice to have a SUPERmin to rip around on that I could touch with both feet again. Mind if I pick your brain a bit?

Michael Henao it was a 1992 kx250 cradle I used had the perfect Y piece to use I'm sure there are other options to use but all I done was scout eBay and looked at all the old steel frames and saw the Y pice from the kx :)
+Ruben Martin hi man, the frame will have to be cut to accommodate the 250 engine , I used oversized rads to suit the 250 coolant volume , the exhaust will need modifying to allow clearance of the front wheel nothing drastic just angle changes really , a swingarm shaft spacer is required as the 250 engine cases are of a larger diameter where as the 150 shaft is a smaller diameter , and lastly you will require a rear sprocket to be made to fit the 250's 520pitch chain as the 150 uses a 428 pitch I believe . Sorry no measurements it was all trial and error as this was the 1st of its kind :) .

Wisco cranks are notorious garbage and have a great reputation for exploding. Even Wiseco themselves made a RUclips video about it admitting they have issues and they claim they have been fixed. But the exploding cranks continue.
The BBQ Jerk I've used a fair few of them and have never had a problem yet with that being said anything can fail at anytime I suppose . Had them in my 500's and 250's fingers crossed .😳

Loke Jarl Anything is possible but I would suggest getting the RB big frame crf150r , thats the biggest size they do , i know the frames are a little more expensive but it would a lot less hassle . but thinking about your question , i dont think it would be too much hassle , if i had to do this , i would probably use the crf250r chassis , but with saying that you could always also de-restrict the crf250 engine once again saving huge time and cash . hope this helps. :)

No the mounts did not but being steel they are easy to move and weld .

It's still crf 150 forks and swingarm the pipe was fabricated to give clearance from the header pipe under full compression

had them made from a company i use on ebay.uk , any graphics company could make them i suppose , just tell them what you want , i sent a design and they copied it .

+karl dragert I vapour blasted everything , my brake calipers , triple clamps , engine mounts , swing arm , linkages etc it turns out damn good .

Wisco cranks are notorious garbage and have a great reputation for exploding. Even Wiseco themselves made a RUclips video about it admitting they have issues and they claim they have been fixed. But the exploding cranks continue.
The BBQ Jerk I've used a fair few of them and have never had a problem yet with that being said anything can fail at anytime I suppose . Had them in my 500's and 250's fingers crossed .😳

Hi i can i ask you a thing :) can you swap a cr150 motor/engien to a 125 frame and do i ned to buy a new swing arm then or can i just swap IT to the frame and buy new plastic ?:)) IT would be awsome IF you know becuse i am rebuilding to My son that needs bigger frame but the same engien ''' he is pretty weak for a 125cc so thats why me and My son are going to do a rebuild :)) you would be a big help IF you know or how to do.i can't found nothing about swaping IT !! :))))

Anything is possible but I would suggest getting the RB big frame crf150r , thats the biggest size they do , i know the frames are a little more expensive but it would a lot less hassle .
but thinking about your question , i dont think it would be too much hassle , if i had to do this , i would probably use the crf250r chassis , but with saying that you could always also de-restrict the crf250 engine once again saving huge time and cash .
