    Great video - A correction: it is not ependymal cells that produce the CSF in the choroid plexus, but it is the epithelial cells of the choroid plexus. Ependymal cells are the cells that line the ventricles.

    • @Hunterleanne
      @Hunterleanne 2 года назад

      This is actually called intracranial hypertension (too much csf putting pressure on the brain and spinal cord, compressing it). This compression on the brain doesn’t cause swelling of the brain itself, it causes symptoms to arise that mimic a brain tumor. Symptoms including but not limited to nausea, vomiting, pulsation tinnitus/ ringing in the ears, vision issues, etc.
      9 times out of 10 it affects women in their child bearing years who are obese.

    Hallo and thank you very much for a very clear explanation. One question remains unanswered to me, it is about the passage from outflow to inflow, where exactly does CSF begin to ascend and, is the subarachnoid space divided so that there are different "tubes" for ascending and descending fluid?. Thank you again!

    • @239muhammadfaizaanakram4
      @239muhammadfaizaanakram4 3 года назад +4

      It comes via blood. And drains into blood. So there will be greater input in case of need and there will be a faster drainage in cases of excess. This is governed largely by the CSF pressure.

    I'm wondering whether or not CSF in the spinal canal can travel back up into the brain, and whether or not certain body or breathing exercises can temporarily alter the fluid pressure or the fluid flow in the brain. If so, can the temporary change in pressure/flow impact other parts in the brain, particularly the pineal gland? I've been learning from various sources in the field of meditation and breath-work that this mechanism is possible but my PHD (neuro-psychology) daughter-in-law says spinal CSF never mixes with or returns to brain CSF. What is the truth? How do I know who to believe? The drawing at the end of the video seems to show some arrows pointing upward in the spinal CSF but it isn't clear just where the fluid ends up after flowing upward. Can you help clarify?

    • @anamariafurdui6992
      @anamariafurdui6992 Год назад

      It never flows back to the brain, it enters the superior sagittal sinus which is a big vein above the brain that later goes towards the heart
