I’ve just heard the terrible news Vangelis died today. Can’t believe it! I bought the ‘Chariots of Fire’ album in 1981 when I was 14 and grew up with his music. ‘Short Stories’ and ‘Friends of Mr Cairo’ (Jon & Vangelis)… “a seasons wish will come true, all seasons begin with you”. I’m so sad…Where has the time gone. Thank you Evangelos where ever you are for your inspirational music.
You ask me where to begin Am I so lost in my sin You ask me where did I fall I'll say I can't tell you when But if my spirit is lost How will I find what is near Don't question I'm not alone Somehow I'll find my way home My sun shall rise in the east So shall my heart be at peace And if you're asking me when I'll say it starts at the end You know your will to be free Is matched with love secretly And talk will alter your prayer Somehow you'll find you are there Your friend is close by your side And speaks in far ancient tongue A season's wish will come true All seasons begin with you One world we all come from One world we melt into one Just hold my hand and we're there Somehow we're going somewhere Somehow we're going somewhere You ask me where to begin Am I so lost in my sin You ask me where did I fall I'll say I can't tell you when But if my spirit is strong I know it can't be long No questions I'm not alone Somehow I'll find my way home Somehow I'll find my way home Somehow I'll find my way home Somehow I'll find my way home
@@davidbrown-wk6mq i am well thank you. what a wonderful tribute to your mum. to be your parents carer is such a privilege. in their final hours who would rather be anywhere else than in the presence of their son and children. let things be and be proud that you had the wonder of knowing someone so beautiful. stay strong .
@@barrysmith4588 than onice again hey can l aked you with out giving to much info whitch country do live in & what is like were you are. l live in Austraila and we have great music bands l mostely like old muic & bands not much these days and have you ever lost someone clost to you
The original with Vangelis is so undeniably superb, but this acoustic solo version many years later is a wonderful surprise ( just heard it now for the first time).RIP Vangelis.
Great musician, unique singing voice 👌 and such a great story teller. I have The friends of Mr Cairo on vinyl,,,, it really is a great album by any measure 👏
Been a huge fan of him via Yes ever since I was 8-9 playing all of mummy and daddys record albums lol He has one of the most angelic and distinctive voices that I have ever heard. I was trucking with my Uncle and he was playing Vangelis and my 21-22 year old self had only heard Yes and solo J. Anderson. Me : What are you playing? Uncle : Yes. Me : Yes...what?! Lol silly me. Edit : Also Phil Keaggy. I love both of them so much....
What we're YES thinking of slinging this amazing singer out of the band, He sings as good now as he did in the early 70s,there loss, god bless you Jon always loved your voice still listen to the early YES albums such great days
This man is the true voice of YES and he always will be not the one now, Keep rocking Jon your voice is truly magic, use to see you in the early days of YES magical days
@@TheMaydayFlyers LOL.There is are "continuation Band" called ARW (Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman) aka Yes feat. Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman. Trevor had played on the 90125 album with them in 1983?
I'll find my way home acoustic.....WOW.....Grew up with the synth version love it....but maybe i've found a new love.... Well done Jon, you own the voice as Vanghelis owns the synth....
What an amazing performance...to pull such an iconic song off without all the backing is a testament to his extraordinary musicianship. Hitting some of those high notes is also very impressive.
How this great singer and artist can reach until this tones! Amazing! I see the abism between raegetton and trap artists that never they will can do nothing with this level
RIP Vangelis. This is a brilliant story 👏
The voice of an Angel and the music of a Greek God.
Jon is such a good storyteller... RIP Vangelis
This man has such an amazing voice. Growing up in the 80s, Jon Anderson was on a par with God. His music was unbelievable, and still is.
You know the score … WHAT ATUNE ……
Absolute-ly

You ask me where to begin
Am I so lost in my sin
You ask me where did I fall
I'll say I can't tell you when
But if my spirit is lost
How will I find what is near
Don't question I'm not alone
Somehow I'll find my way home
My sun shall rise in the east
So shall my heart be at peace
And if you're asking me when
I'll say it starts at the end
You know your will to be free
Is matched with love secretly
And talk will alter your prayer
Somehow you'll find you are there
Your friend is close by your side
And speaks in far ancient tongue
A season's wish will come true
All seasons begin with you
One world we all come from
One world we melt into one
Just hold my hand and we're there
Somehow we're going somewhere
Somehow we're going somewhere
You ask me where to begin
Am I so lost in my sin
You ask me where did I fall
I'll say I can't tell you when
But if my spirit is strong
I know it can't be long
No questions I'm not alone
Somehow I'll find my way home
Somehow I'll find my way home
Somehow I'll find my way home
Somehow I'll find my way home

He nails it even singing alone, still listening to this in 2020.Love his voice and he still sounds the same 34 years later❤💕
Jon, a FANTASTIC musician and vocalist, as well as a GREAT engaging story teller. I love this video!
I love it when musicians have stories to tell. They are often every bit as good as the songs they sing, or better. :o)
man... this is great !!! you need serious balls to sing such an iconic song with just a guitar... great performance and great storytelling !!! thanks
Well, it was sung by the man itself, so he could make it acapella and it will be either perfect.
Talent doesn’t need embellishment. Just Jon and his guitar. Perfect!
