  • In this video, I rivet the swivel ring to the braided element. This is a shorter video than usual but I needed the spare time to make the missing elements needed for next week's video!
Just two videos away from the end of this project!

I think the fast-forward technique is a kindness to the viewer, because it allows us to see everything while saving precious time.

This has been a phenomenal series of videos, Rowan. It's great to see some quality blacksmithing videos on youtube that aren't about making knives or axes. Keep it up.

Riveting work, Rowan! Honestly though this is an epic piece of blacksmithing. This is something for the ages.

I saw the original in the British Museum last week. It's quite unbelievable how big it is. You're doing a really good job recreating it.

I think that the fastforwarding is a very good idea! I do blacksmithing myself and i think that it is actually helpful to see the work done a little bit faster, This more vivid animation of the materials transformation makes it much more easily understandable. Please use it more.

Have you heard of using white vinegar for scale removal? I enjoy watching you work. Thanks.

For production reasons, you could have started cutting the metal with a hacksaw, cut the rest, off-camera with an angle-grinder, but I appreciate the honesty. 1:22

You won't be making the cauldron? That's a shame!

Just wondering if that was a Saxon angle grinder? ;)
You should use fast forward more often, I found it quite riveting...
Sorry, I had to... That is why they used to call me The Pun-issuer.

It was an Anglo Grinder not angle for a start, Hoo the hell would think that any good? I could steel a better pun from a child. A poor forgery of a pun would be better than that.

all that weight pulling down on a single tenon........
i love your work and recreation but the design putting all the weight in one spot seems bad.

You are going to hang it up SOMEWHERE if you can't find a feasting hall, right?
    Edit: First! :)
