Thank you, for your excellent review. I have, “Ace Frehley”, ‘10,000 Volts’,color on color splatter vinyl and CD !! I love the whole album and don’t skip a song. Love it !! Space Ace, has a unique singing voice and his songs wouldn’t be the same without him singing them. I love the feeling and personality, “Space Ace”, puts into his music. Space Ace Frehley, rocks !! 🎤🎸🎵🥁
I haven't bought an Ace album since "Second Sighting" but I will buy this one. I checked it out on Spotify and I'm really impressed. It does have some of that "KISS magic".
You are the First who gives the best critic. I also say its a great Album. IT makes me feel better when i gonna hear it. It doesnt Matter If he Sings in tune, or Plays simple Solis. When You hear the Solis ...You know thats Ace. And this is most importend
Give the spaceman 👽 a break, he's almost 80. Look in all honesty he never was a top shelf guitarist, but Ace (and Kiss) were always bigger than the sum of their parts. Plus I remember being a kid, jumping up and down on my bed with Ace makeup on, playing a tennis racquet singing Rocket Ride. I never did that with Hendrix or Page.
Thank you for your honest review and for sharing your thoughts with us.👍👍 For me, the joy is what it is all about my 72-year-old guitar god has even made a new album. In my opinion, Ace Frehley and Kiss fans can be very happy with the result. And, as I expected, "10000 Volts" is a stronger rock album than the last two really weak Kiss albums "Monster" and "Sonic Boom". Overall the album is 8/10 for me. 🤘🤘 I've now been able to listen to the album twice on my Sonos sound system. It grows! At first I only knew the 3 singles - as videos. Without the images, the music comes across much better to me. In my opinion, the production of 10,000 volts turned out very well... I'd be curious to see what it would sound like if Ace re-recorded his 1978 solo album with this type of production... Keep on rocking and greetings from Germany 🇩🇪👍🤘🎸⚡️🌎
I agree with you completely. My favorite songs are Cosmic Heart (my favorite), 10,000 volts, Walkin' On the Moon, Back into My Arms, Life of a Stranger, and Constantly Cute & Blinded are pretty good as well. For some reason I don't care much for Fightin' for Life. Great Review!
From what you say, it sounds like there is a lot of turbulence in the Kiss community around this record. Sorry to hear about that. I've just had a listen to the album track online. Sounds pretty good. As a Kiss fan you must be particularly excited about it. I guess there can't be much new material from Kiss and past members these days. Cheers
Like you, I buy most anything Kiss related, so looking forward to picking this up eventually for sure. Saw Ace last Aug when he played in town (video clips on y channel).
I also have this album on order, I'm looking forward to it. I ordered it on the last day of the New Year, unfortunately it hasn't been released in Europe yet. I do not know what's going on.
I love this album! Ace's songwriting and guitar playing has never sounded better! I give it ⚡⚡⚡⚡ 4 lightning bolts out of 5. Do you think you'll purchase the cd in the future?
I played Anomaly; Space Invader and Spaceman back to back before playing 10,000 Volts for the first time. I'd heard the title track 3 times and Walking on the Moon once but made sure I didn't hear any more ..... So far I don't have a positive opinion of it. In fact Space Invader is the only one of the 4 albums that I like. Fighting for Life is the only song that made any impression. Back Into My Arms Again doesn't meet the demo version that I've owned for 35 years plus. eOne IS MNRK - it's a rebrand not a change in company. The chart positions are obviously because of the multiple versions .... a lot of us buy several copies when there are multiple variants. I myself have 3 of the 17? variants (so far, as I have 7 different versions of each of Space Invader and Spaceman), and there are 2 more coming, one for Record Store Day, and a Deluxe with Bonus tracks in the Autumn. I paid £27.99 for the black vinyl and £17.99 for the CD from HMV .... I should have looked online, if yours were cheaper than that.
i pre ordered the vinyl first week of february and got it FINALLY 16th of March Amazon i think side one songs are good really catchy didnt like walkin on the moon when i heard the video but its grown on me its really good side 2 starts off great with fighting for life then the rest of side 2 i kind of drop off on its borderline allright not as good as the others
Zero filler here. As with any album, some songs are stronger than others, and on this record, every song is well above average. Standouts are 10,000 Volts, Cosmic Heart, Cherry Medicine, Back in My Arms Again, Fighting for Life, and Constantly Cute. Good or bad, the use of pitch correction is the rule and not the exception in this day and age. Deal with it.
Hi, and thanks for stopping by. Your message comes across as if I'm against auto tuning etc, especially with your comment 'deal with it'. In the video, i clearly say that I'm not against auto tuning on this album, or any albums. In fact, i embrace it. For me, it's part of the recording process these days. Thanks again for the input.
NOTE: My initial comment was not in any way directed at Darren in the Studio's review. In my opinion, his review of the album is honest and fair. It was directed at those who seemingly dismiss the album in its entirety due to the use of pitch correction. If you like Ace, giveit a chance. It really is a fantastic record.
Fx have been used on vocals and instruments since the beginning of electronically recorded music, regardless of the style. I personally think auto tune is acceptable as long as it's not used to a degree where the original vocal is lost.
@@darrenjackson2965 I’m not talking about effects I’m talking about artificially correcting a vocal performance to make it sound like perfection. Let’s not conflate the use of technology used creatively and artistically versus using it to misrepresent vocal talent. I love Ace and not picking on him I just don’t agree when auto tune is used to compensate for lack of vocal skills. When they used it on the Cher track it was an effect and we know she can actually sing. Auto tune is also good when used as a tool for song writers who can’t sing well but want a better representation of their melody for someone else to sing.
🤘
I thought it was Paul Stanley holding-up the 10,000V album in the thumbnail pic.
Def looked like it
Same!
Same. It's why I clicked on the video

Great review. I agree, it's a great Album. And a punchy production! Ace is back!
I like it, just wish he would have gotten Richie scarlet on a track or two, those two are classic together

im currently listening to tangerine dream album exit from 1981
Thumbnail looks like Paul Stanley doing review, then turns out it's actually Ritchie Blackmore

I totally agree, Strong Album!
Ace and Steve Brown addressed the auto tune thing and denied that autotune was used on Ace's vocals
Pre-orders are becoming ridiculous . I’m giving them a big miss until things improve 😎🎸

Possibly buddy. I've got it on my phone, so I'll have that for now in the car. Hope the eye is OK. 😉
@@darrenjackson2965 Just saw the eye doctor a couple days ago. The eye is a healed and my vision is slowly returning to normal.
Love it Darren!
I like it a lot too.✌️

Keep listening… I thought space invader was best but after listening and wanting to keep listening this is Aces best since 78 .
In thumbnail You look like Paul Stanley 😂😂😂
Thanks 😉

You look a bit like the English Paul Stanley... hahahahaha 😆
Cheesy lyrics bad vocals but still enjoyable if you don't put your expectations to high and yes it's 5 times better than the KISS garbage Monster!
Auto tune is NEVER acceptable. Recording artists excuse my ass...

nope 😂😂 sorry about Ace can't sing anymore. He needs a real singer.
It's awful. A kindergartener could have written better lyrics!!!
10000 volts Lacks Soul & is trite ..Mediocre overall
Nope it’s fun and rocking.
Not you again!
@j.reveille6815 Fun..Lmao..Corey Feldman & the Angeles are fum too..Both, never hip
@poppiethestable1090 lol I have never found Corey Feldman fun but hey ...to each his own.
