On the two singles you showed side by side the one on the right had slightly thicker text and was darker...especially the Records and Filmworks at the top of the label and the circle around Casablanca. The one on the right is much darker. Great video by the way and also my favorite solo record of the 4.
My Ace promo copy (gold stamp on the front) came with the record in a white sleeve that was tucked inside the solo albums cover inner. My Ace picture disc's back cover is definitely blue. The difference that I see on the "New York Groove" singles that you were questioning yourself about is that the "Stereo NB 941" is bigger/wider on one than on the other.
There is a difference between font sizes on my 'gapped' and 'non-gapped' singles. Perhaps you upgraded and didn't pay attention to the font size and just were looking at the gaps?

Now that I look, my picture disc jackets are definitely more blue than purple
Ace was also the last one for me. Took almost 3 years.
I got Sweden pressing. There is the same shorted version of merch insert.

My "no face" copy came in a purple back jacket.
