I get around to charity stores here in New Zealand . The Salvation Army Family store is good. I'm going through my large collection of cds. I have from the 1960s to the early 2000s. I have had some real good finds.

Hi Darren, Regarding your Rolling Stones record there. Once you have cleaned it I suspect that you will not hear any clicks from the scratch. Mono records are much less sensitive to scratches. They are pretty much bullet proof in fact, so be sure to clean it well and enjoy it. That was a brilliant find for £1. Cheers

A nice stack of CDs for such a pittance! You missed a great rhyming opportunity, I must say. You could've peppered the video with, "25p, golly gee!", and "25p, gracious me!", etc. :) Oh, and I actually like those "super jewel boxes" myself. I have the US version of "Covers", and it just came in a digipak, so I may have to hunt down the UK version in that case. Cheers!

Congratulations on your award. You do a great show, so it is great that you get recognition. I've some some history with that Cinderella album. I lived in Portsmouth for a few years while I studied. I had a local girlfriend. When it was time for me to move back to Essex where I'm from we were both heartbroken. Anyway, I told her she could help herself to any of my records before I moved back home. I can remember wincing when she picked out Long Cold Winter...along with a healthy clutch of other LPs to keep. 34 years on...I've just about collected all those she took. LOL Yngwie Malmsteen was a good find He is Swedish. An amazing guitarist even though he has spent his whole career trying to be Richie Blackmore. I used to listen to him a lot back in the day. That Quireboys LP if fantastic. What a great find. I think they are still going in some shape or form. And Thunder too. Wow, you struck gold that day Darren. Thunder and the Quireboys were on the same bill at Donnington Rock festival, in 1990 I think it was. You will enjoy that Thunder album. It was produced by Andy Taylor from Duran Duran. I can remember reading how David Coverdale, after hearing that album, tried to persuade Luke Morley to join Whitesnake. Lots of great find in this one Darren. Well done!

Elvis has so much music that is so good but sometimes overlooked by the classics. The Elvis is back album is a gem and from elvis in Memphis is another great one. The Sun sessions are a magnificent beginning.

I don't believe that I have ever watched a film that featured Elvis. I first encountered Elvis via some of the 45s that my Mum had when I was a child. Heartbreak Hotel was one of them. My favourite song by him is Guitar Man. If you get a chance Darren, look out for any of the early Elvis material that was released on the Sun label. There have been a few different collections of that material issued. What I like about those Sun recordings is that many of them are really stripped back and basic without many of the gimmicky production effects that were common in the 50s and 60s. Some of them sound like they were recorded yesterday. There is a film made about him on Netflix at the moment that I intend to watch when I get a chance. Have you seen it?

I have the Jools Holland CD. It is notable for the George Harrison track as it was the last recording he made before his death. He was so ill at the time that he couldn't play the guitar but his vocal is excellent.

Do you know The Sensational Alex Harvey Band's music Darren? I discovered them for myself the year before last. I think it is amazing how their earlier records sound verry much like the main inspiration behind AC/DC, yet I've never heard anyone else say that before. That is a great comp of Cat Stevens. He made so many great records. Cheers

Don’t think I can name any albums I own from 2014?

Rock Or Bust. Was it really ten years ago!? OMG. Seems like just a couple of years ago. And the last Pink Floyd album. I still haven't gotten round to getting that. I don't think I bought any new released music in 2014. It was a turbulent year for me. I had just returned back to Sweden with my family after living in California for a few years. We barely settled before moving to Wales in October. I don't think I had the time or the money for new music. LOL

Trash isn't mentioned nearly enough when we talk about Alice Coopers greatest albums. It was phenomenal. Thanks

Alice Cooper great album. I have it on CD and vinyl. Picked up the book of it once for my ex-girlfriend! Damn

Johnny Cash is fantastic, as is that Oasis album. I really like that Neil Young album, and Division Bell. A couple for me would be... Portishead "Dummy", NIN "The Downward Spiral" and Bush "Sixteen Stone". Cheers

My mother had almost all the LPs he had released. I learnd about Jim through my mother's heavy use of pickups on the gramophone. Some of her records were quite worn down. When I got a little older, I tried to renew her record collection and replace the most worn LPs. It has been several years since I lost my beloved Mother. But I inherited her record collection and combined with my own collection I have pretty much everything Jim has released as well as several compilation albums. -Enjoy. . .

I was going to say that I don't think I have any from 2004, but I do remember getting that Velvet Revolver album on CD when it came out. I didn't get along with it at the time, and haven't played it since. I should pull it out again. ....Yep, I've just checked and I still have it. I'll put it in my car to play this week.

I'm enjoying the daily videos Darren. I'll be disappointed when you take a break. I'm anticipating that this will be a tough one. I can't think that I bought many albums from 1994. Certainly not many on record. Most shops stopped selling LPs at about that time or soon after. I bought that Alice Cooper Last Temptation on CD too. It was a sequel to the Welcome To My Nightmare album wasn't it? Really good. I agree with you about the Proclaimers. Their first album, This Is the Story, helped me get through a divorce. I'll always be grateful to them for that. Never heard that Dave Lee Roth album. Nor the Neil Young album.

Love lists, enjoyed the run through of these, none would make my top 10 from 74 but it was good to see nonetheless.
