    What a superb model, so realistic it's hard to distinguish from an actual aircraft, 8 years on I hope she's still flying. One of the best videos I've seen of a Mosquito, excellent detail, flight pattern, pilot and photography. Thanks for sharing.

    Incredible model! Like most model in these larger scales, it has a real presence in the air that smaller models just cannot duplicate, very impressive. Last month, we had a full-size Mossy take to the air at our local airport after a protracted restoration, as we live close to the airport, we saw it right over our house several times during it's test flights; Very exciting I can tell you! Thanks for posting this, Cheers, Dougal

    Incredible model! So convincing - especially with the with the backdrop! All it needs are gear doors and a gear locking mechanism and it will be indistinguishable from the real thing!

    Watching these amazing RC models fly 5-7-10 years ago I always wonder if they still exist, or if they crashed years ago and ended up in the garbage bin.
    Let's face it, even the best RC planes piloted by the best pilots have a high probability of crashing. They always fly low and often slow, with very little altitude and time available to recover from problems.

    G'day Pet another great vid and you captured it really well. I read that some people don't like the vid, well probably jealous it takes a lot to video a subject that is going at speed and be able to keep the camera on the plane, especially if you are not using a tripod as you can see there is no camera shake! So to those people who don't like the vid watch something else! Thanks Pete one of my favourite aircraft, and that model is spot on. The pilot gave some good examples of what they did in WWll low level flying which I might say we're Australian and New Zealand pilots as well. I noticed some "hairy" moments when it came into land and take off, great really enjoyed it. Thanks John Tassie

    All these R/C Planes are beautiful, such detail ect., Lot'sa money being spent here. If I had the scoots I'd probrably build one also. Too bad the Mosquito doesn't have a three blade prop, it would enhance it's appearance, and sound even better with that extra blade cutting through the air.

    Twin props on a Mossie? nononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononnonon-no. Nice flying. Excellent cammo. What, no ammo? What "laws"? These are Warbirds, put 22s in the nose, that'll thrill the crowd. "Now, ladles and gents if you will please direct your attention to the soon-to -be-retired one-nine-oh on the horizon..." and the Mosquito lets loose on an old RC, courtesy of an RC millionaire, Folke Wulfe. That's a show. Always fade on the outro.

    Thanks for the reply Pete, love the UK been back to the mother country Two times plan to go again my son is into professionals filming and would like to work over there, any way when I said about the landing evidently the real ones were the same you have to have engines really in synchronised mode. There was a block is the US who built a 1/5 th scale absolutely a beautiful example and very technical how he set up the engines and servos to stop the bad take offs and landing. Anyway talk to you soon mate John

    Discovered your videos about a fortnight ago. Excellent! Great subjects that are well covered, well shot and well edited. Thanks!
    A question from a non RC type. Given the beautiful scale modeling of these aircraft, it is disconcerting to see propellers with non scale diameters, or a number blades that is inconsistent with the full size versions. Is this a rules issue, a practical matter (seeing the way that many aircraft are lifted by the empennage when moving them to and from the runways), or would "full scale" propellers generate too much thrust for the models? Some combination? Again, thank you for sharing these videos.

    • @Hootysdad
      @Hootysdad Год назад

      This is my big question also. I just don't understand why most places in Europe end up using two-blade propellers on all the aircraft that would normally use three-blade or more props. Maybe they are not available in Europe. I don't know.

    I've got this dream, fantasy really, that some billionaire aviation enthusiast will fork up the funds to initiate a limited production run of Mosquitoes; however, this time use cutting-edge carbon-fiber composites instead of wood, modern cockpit avionics instead of analog gauges, and turboprop power plants instead of the two Rolls Royce Merlins. Okay, I know, it's heresy to suggest replacing the venerable Merlin with a turboprop engine, but just think of it, a Mossie which uses all the modern advantages of carbon fiber, state-of-the-art avionics and powerful turboprop engines, gracing our skies once again. Now THAT would be a sight to behold!

      The reason most modelers only use two bladed props on their scale models is because most models only have a single cylinder two stroke engine in it and these engines simply do not produce any where Near enough power to turn a scale 3 or 4 bladed prop fast enough to get the model off the ground. That is why they are turning 2 blade props to suit the power output of the single cylinder engine, Don’t forget the real aircraft had V12 or 18 cylinder radial aero engines in them and the power to weight ratio is a lot different on a model aero engine - the bigger 250cc & 450cc (5 and 7 cylinders) radial engines can turn bigger 3 or 4 bladed props on them but they still might not be full scale props, and these big 3 or 4 blade props cost into the hundreds of pounds and if the model noses over the props are destroyed, imagine doing that 2 or 3 times over a weekend ! most people simply cannot afford such luxuries and resort to cheaper smaller models with cheaper smaller engines and props, Hope this info helps !

If the real plane had four propeller blades then the model SHOULD HAVE four propeller blades. I've seen GORGEOUS, huge B-17 models with ridiculous 2 bladed props. It looks stupid, Stupid, STUPID! Same with the mosquito in this vid--*WHY* 2 bladed props instead of the real thing's THREE bladed props?
