It seems Harry had cat Interstitial Cystitis which is incurable. I’m glad his problem with retention and spasms was solved with this surgery. Much of what was learned about IC for humans was first learned by vets treating cats and many medication treatments are the same. I’ve had IC for over 30 years and when one of my cats showed symptoms my vet listened and contacted a specialist I knew of at a teaching veterinary hospital to consult on treatment. She ended up on similar medications to mine for a short time until her symptoms improved.

It’s lovely to see Scott visiting their patients for update. I don’t think vet in US will visit their patients to their home. I love that Scott really dedicated to the pet.
It’s pretty common for vets in my area to come out to ranches and do mass castrations and things like that. For my grandparents, the vet would come out and do all the castrations on the bulls as well as check out the cows during their pregnancies and the horses and cats and dogs all in one day. Basically, any animal that needed attention, got attention all in one day. Saves lots of time and money
At our clinic we do house calls, but it costs more than double the price for the exam if you had come to the clinic yourself and can only do it on days we have more than one doctor at the clinic. One of the doctors that works here does do large animals such as cows and horses and such and will go out to homes/barns on weekends when she's not working at the clinic.

Poor Harry. My late cat had an issue with crystals occuring in his urine, we had to go the same route. The big furry baby was the same from before the issue started, letting smaller cats boss him around and loving cuddles.

This is why every kitty needs a water fountain. It encourages them to drink more water because it filters, aerates, and cools the water and more water dissolves crystals or keeps them from occurring in the first place. So sorry about your furbaby.

@@litchtheshinigami8936 I definitely wouldn't recommend a rabbit as a first pet ever. They need a lot of management and care, especially since they spook easily and can even die of loneliness. Plus, they need a lot of room to roam around. It's like giving a child a hamster or a guinea pig. These animals need a lot more maintenance.
In addition to being a very handsome 😍 ❤ 💕 ginger, Harry has incredibly lush whiskers! 😍 Just Magnificent! I love all cats, all their shapes, sizes, attitudes, etc. But I always ❤ seem to be smitten by the orange kitties the most.
I know this is an old video but our baby was just diagnosed with FLUTD so this was very informative and I'm glad I found it. Puts me at ease more than everything the vet has told me so far.
That cat and his person are both precious!
Dr. Scott... can you PLEASE come to Costa Rica and do this exact same surgery on my ginger boy cat??!!!! He has the exact same issue and the vets here aren't good at all!!😪😪😪
This is a very old surgery which my cat had in 1976. George went on to live a long life.
Sería bueno entonces que vinieras a Colombia cuando pase el caos. Conozco una veterinaria experta en gatos que podría ayudar.
I am so sorry for your troubles. As with human doctors, sometimes, it's best to get a few different opinions with complex issues like this. One of my dogs has epilepsy, and something at the vet clinic that my family was taking her to at the time kept triggering seizures. So, the vet we were seeing there recommended another practice that had a super calm, low-stimulation environment, and that has worked out really well.
@@TheWeirdestOfBugs Gracias.
@@cellogirl11rw55 They really aren't "vets" like you know...they are more about husbandry really. It's very scary to me as I know what a real vet looks like and that's just not how they work here. They even spay/neuter animals without any proper ventilation or heart rate monitor. 😪
Harry and his owner look so much alike. They literally are made for each other
Scott is SOOO cute... Those blue eyes, omg...
Creep, back away from the keyboard.
That cute little tiny dog looks like a hedgehog.🥰
I am a human and I was told I had dermoid cysts on my ovaries, and under my arm, but I was never told what they actually were, and I never thought to research it until now. Wow! No wonder the docs were so keen on taking "samples".
Huge fan of Rosie, she looks so soft!
Omg I’ll send prayers to all the family’s I love all animals and would do anything for my pets I know the feeling of pain from having to get my dogs put down and wanting the best for my living animals
Love from New York
Scott is amazing at what he does I love this channel
Zoe... Your friend said 'No snakes'.
Snakes are the best!!! Eat once a week, poop once a week. No noise, won't jump on you, and are very clean. We have ball pythons, and love them. (Jan Griffiths).
So glad I found Vet on the Hill and Bondi Vet! I’m not looking forward to when I’ve watched all episodes.
