This is how my family was growing up and throughout my life. My granny did the cooking, we helped. Everyone in my family doesn’t know how to cook small. Even for just my husband and I, I cook enough to feed at least 10 people. I guess I like having enough in case others show up. I always eat the leftovers though, so no waste. I’m from Florida, but have no idea what all I have in my family. My grandpas name was O’Donald which I’ve been told is an Irish thing, or something like that, because of the O’ part. I don’t know lol.

My son and Grandson are moving here next month. I'm ecstatic🥳. I've been watching your RUclips from America, before moving to Arona last August. 🎉. Stay Sweet ❤️

And with that I felt like I had a vacation in Italy visiting Nonna. Thank you for taking us along. Your family is beautiful and can feel the love. Blessings to all of you!
I have to tell you the reason why this video is so special to me. I didn’t have this growing up and now as an adult I don’t have it either. It’s wholesome to see a family actually sitting down, all together. The eating and having conversations. I love the format, always looking forward to find the next vid

@@LadyAhiru It is a very common thing not only in Italy but also in places like my country, Spain and Portugal and even Greece and Turkey. It is a very Mediterranean thing actually.
As an Italian living abroad for the past 16 years due to my career, this video made me cry of happiness. I miss my nonna so much. Excellent quality too! Thank you, truly.
I'm thinking of filming a Q&A with Nonna next time I see her! Feel free to leave any questions you have for her down below and hopefully she’ll agree to do it ❤🥰
I love the cookbook! 😀 It’s beautiful and the recipes are explained well with the pics. I really like the pantry chapter. The picture of your whole family at the end is so precious! Beautiful!! Thank you Rosie and Nonna Rosa!! 💝
Rosie, my grandma loves your videos! I am brazilian, but my grandma is italian and every time that I invite her to watch your videos with me, it reminds her about her nonna and she feels so good. All I have to say is thank you very much, we appreciate that!
@cerenxyz3382 Your English is very good! The only mistake is, "I hope we will has a good life." Try writing, "I hope she has a great life" or "I hope she will have a great life." :)

THANK YOUU ROSIE FOR YOUR EXISTING, I LOVE YOUUUU SO SOOO MUCHHHH
I am from the U.S., and I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see a family cooking together, shopping together, eating together, and enjoying family time. It is so refreshing. I always look forward to these videos and can't wait to see more.
It hurts that I’ll never get to experience this and feel and taste the amount of love put into the food and the amount of love all together with family
My family consists of myself, my husband and our 2 sons. I wish they had a big family, to give them love and security, One day I pray they'll marry and have their own children. Still, we're blessed and love each other so very much! We're also blessed to live in Europe, where meals, markets and family time together are so important. I love our shopping days at the local Farmers Market....tasting the food and breathing in the atmosphere makes my heart sing 😊
What do you think of European countries versus my American nation? I really hate living here in America, where the democracy is falling apart. There is no nation, and nobody cares about anybody anymore. I think I should leave to a European country, do you think I can do that? Thank you for any information. @@jacqueline8559
Yes exactly!! I thought of Rosie's videos this morning and if she could upload more videos with nonna then was so elated when the notification came today!!
I can’t believe I watched an hour long video on RUclips. It was so endearing and I really felt like I was a part of your trip there. Please keep up these elaborate video’s! They feel like I was on holiday for a little while! 🫶🏻❤️
I love these videos, they bring so much nostalgia. From the ladies wearing their patterned summer dresses, to prickly pears and watermelon after lunch, the family bickering and all the labor of love that Nonna's food is; freshly prepared every day, I can't help but notice the similarities with my own yiayia, as a cypriot. Mediterranean summers are truly the best. Thank you for this video, Rosie🫶
Waking up for the fresh morning breeze, having coffee and pastries for breakfast, walking to get the raw material for lunch, eating really good food, fresh fruits, desserts, having a nap, drinking more coffee while gossiping, going to the beach to relax and later cooling off with ice cream, going our for dinner, Rosie it's safe to say that you are indeed living the dream life. If I was there, I'd never pickup my phone because there's no room to be bored! I can say so many nice things about this video and one of them being that I am in love with how you have captured the simple and mundane things of everyday life and that makes this video so raw and real and just! beautiful! Now because of you, I have added one thing in my bucket list and that is that I want to visit Italy every year in the summer, spend good time with the locals, and make friends for life over there! I really hope I'm able to do that one day because I am so in love with this lifestyle
my grandma passed away last year and your videos with nonna is literally very comforting because of how much she reminds me of my grandma and her cooking, i miss her sm🥹❤
As a Spaniard, I am amazed at the nostalgia that this video brought me. It felt like reliving the summers spent as a child with my grandparents, the slow living, being around family, eating good food... Makes me feel so grateful 🩷
This was an hour long and it still wasn’t long enough 😭😭 I never comment on videos but this was so beautiful and wholesome to watch! You’ve captured such beautiful moments ❤your family is so precious 🫶✨✨
Rosie 🫶🏻 my 5 year old daughter and I were getting ready to eat a bowl of pasta last night and I suggested ‘hey shall we watch Rosie and Nonna while we eat?’, she jumped in excitement and yelled ‘YESS’. To our wonderful surprise, we saw you’d uploaded this video and I kid you not, we both screamed in excitement 😂 even my husband said ‘ I want to watch too’. Rosie, your content brings a lot of joy to a lot of people, comforting and real! I’’m half Portuguese and these videos really take me back to summers as a kid - the part where your family started having a fight at the dinner table… relatable 😂😂😂 thank you again and can’t wait to see what you upload next! In the meantime, I’ll be having this video on repeat whilst I work from home 😊 all the best!
As someone who doesn’t have a big family, or are super close with them, this video makes my heart so happy to see how your family loves eachother and spends time with eachother. I almost feel like i’m there with you guys and it brings me some comfort! I know it might be a bit weird to say that, but thank you for letting us experience what it’s like to be loved by family ❤
Ok so here are all my thoughts after watching the whole video: - ughhh the color grading by Chris - BREATHTAKING!!! - the shots where you sit next to your nonna - SO BEAUTIFUL - how your mum kisses you and your sister - PURE LOVE WHAT A MOTHER - the moments in the kitchen with gossiping, fighting, laughing, talking, cooking - SO AUTHENTIC, YOU COULD JUST CREATE A MOVIE IN THAT ONE ROOM - you nonnas savage comment when you asked why the fish seller didn’t clean the whole fish - HILARIOUS HAHAHAH - your filming style - INCREDIBLE 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just stumbled on to this lovely documentary. Fresh, lively, authentic this documentary is better than some films about Italian family life. Thank you for the revelations about a very special way of growing, selling, cooking and eating awesome Calabrian cuisine! Loved the affirmation of a young woman's generous appetite for life, family and her Nonna's powerful food traditions! I would only add that the video depicts how incredibly hard the women work. Glad to see Nonna napping sometimes.
I’m obsessed with Italian culture and this is amazing. I love how we are alive at the same time experiencing life differently in our own unique way. ❤ I’m Mexican born in the U.S and love Italy. I would love to travel there 😢
omg this is the reason i love youtube , you can never possibly see this much reality and know abt the culture. this video was just another dimension, love love love love it . please never stop making videos
I am not italian but I come from a small island in Spain and I used to have this before moving abroad due to job opportunities/studies. I miss them and this peaceful life so much. I am crying right now with happy tears because of the good memories I had the chance to experienced: having a table full of family, exploring with cousins/friends, the village fairs/festivals, fresh food, the sea nearby... Thank you for sharing a bit of your culture and family. It seems lovely and I am sure they all are. This video is a good idea to keep the memory alive Buina fortuna nella vita, vicina❤
I think that the countries that overlook the Mediterranean Sea, such as Italy, Spain, southern France, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, we have almost the same atmosphere and daily family life, especially in the summer, and this is very cool💗💗
The Middle East in general, Egypt and Asian countries Philippines....., I don't know why you're trying to seem European, because I know that drinking wine and mingling is unacceptable in Algeria and Morocco, something that has nothing to do with the Mediterranean. The culture you have is southern European
I like to think you haven’t posted since this because you have been having the time of your life living my dream of an Italian summer ❤ can’t wait for a new video! Until then rewatching this ❤
For years now these videos have been inspiring me to be a better cook! Not many in my family cook much, but your nonna inspired me so much I decided the first step to becoming a great nonna myself one day is starting those traditions myself! To anyone else out there feeling similar take this as the sign to just jump into cooking! I have learned so much and shared so much love over the meals I have cooked! Can’t wait for the cook book 🎉
you really outdid yourself with this one Rosie! The videography and the colourgrading looks wonderful, I can see you're getting better with each video. The way you capture everyday life as an Italian family is so wonderful. Keep going you're really great at it! I can't wait for your next work :)
Sending so much love from Assam, India 🇮🇳. I lost my grandma when I was very young, your Nonna is such a sweetheart, she is warm, maternal, you are blessed. The internet has fallen in love with your Nonna ❤🥺 thank you for showcasing your authentic Italian roots, I love and admire your family. I am going to visit Calabria someday ✨
From a Filipina viewer’s perspective, what makes Rosie’s videos so comforting and entertaining at the same time is that, I feel so connected to their culture. The family gathering, the festive amount of foods cooked by her grandfathers and uncles in big pots, the friendly people around her wherever she goes... everything in Rosie’s videos are so heartwarming to see. The feeling is so nostalgic, like I’m coming back home when in fact, I have never been to Italy. I love you Rosie ❤
In addition, I also grew up as a Lola’s (nonna) girl which makes me so happy when they’re together. Unfortunately, my nonna already passed away but I’m healed now. Long live to all nonnas out there!
Filipino here din! Exactly my sentiments! Everything feels very familiar especially if you grew up in the probinsya. With the fiesta celebrations of a patron saint to neighbors visiting for the latest town gossip just feels like home. It's amazing how we feel very much connected to this culture from the other side of the globe.
i love how homely this whole video feels like. summer is my least favourite season, but while watching this video it made me miss summer like crazy, you captured the best things that summer can have, family, the beach and the home cooked meals 🫶🏻
I never comment on YT videos BUT this is so lovely and informative, I have to thank you for making it. The gentle music and editorial voice though subtitles are such excellent tools here. No on saying "ok guys" every 25 seconds. No vocal fry! The commentary is tightly edited. 10 out of 10. Thank you for providing such a compelling look at day-to-day family and food life in Italy and doing it in such an elevated way. Grazie!
Your videos are extremely soothing and relaxing to me. The warm family gatherings, your little routines together, the afternoons at the beach and the night strolls remind me how beautiful a simple life can be. I love everything about your family and village, hoping to be able to visit one day. 🩷
@@michellebaker6693 she said in the beginning of the last videos that she’s busy with studying, family and also other private aspects in her life so it’s probably for that reason. i rlly miss her videos because they were so comforting but she should prioritize her real life and we should support her for that even though it’s sad
Hello 💚 There's something I must tell you. Last year my heart grew terribly weak and back then no one knew, why and what to do. All I could do was lie in bed, do nothing and rest, rest, rest. I was miserable, terribly sad, because it had happened so suddenly. And then, I found you and watched every video. I fell in love with the food you showed and began to smile with every episode. Now, my heart had surgery, I'm doing much, much better and I want to thank you from the depths of my heart for the strength and joy you gave with your videos 🙏💚 Thank you and I wish your family and you everything good 🙏💚
I can't believe I just laid in bed for an hour watching this. It was so awesome. You had more meals that week then I've had my entire life with my family.
Hi! Can we get a life update please? I've been following you for years and I've watched every video. I miss you! Hope you're well! Please post again soon! 💗🙏🏼
I watched this video on the day you posted it while my two-year-old daughter was in the room, and in the last four days since it was posted, she keeps asking to watch “the video of the girl eating with her family“ ❤
Rosie I LOVE your way of filming and portraying things ❤ You rly have an eye for the beauty of the simple things in life and you catch it so beautifully with your camera 😍
Your video made me cry remembering my own childhood. I'm from Spain but my family was like yours. As you said, "never take for granted your family". Thank you
Really loved the meta commentary on the plastic plates/glasses. Also noticed that this year you avoided the use of plastic in almost every meal (huge respect for that- I only can imagine the conversations you'd have had to do). Your work is really admirable. Something between a documentary, a video cook book and a family video all in one. Lots of love from a very similar country, Greece 💙
Your vlogs are right outta a movie! So calming. It makes me feel that people everywhere are essentially the same. They want to eat good, nap, have desserts, spend time with family, roam about in their hometowns and celebrate life.
@@MalikaAbizar-r1lofccc! But from what I saw on this video we have soooo much in common especially the family gathering, the afternoon coffee, Im Algerian but when I watched this video i felt like im home!! Sooo calm and happy I just love it!!!
I know a Calabrian from Pizzo who left as a young man. Despite a few visits that he obviously enjoyed he said he would never go back because of the influence of the mafia. Last I heard him say this was about 10 years ago. I know all that has calmed down a bit but these people have all lived with it and it has been a massive part of Calabrian life.
The only thing that I don’t like about your videos is that I always end up crying😢 so beautiful, love the life that you live❤ I wish the best to you, your Nona, and all of your family😢❤

Well said.
im no contact with my family for legit reasons but this makes me so happy, seeing a real family all together, beingloud and joyfull and not caring about apearances and so much love and food
@@LadyAhiru It is a very common thing not only in Italy but also in places like my country, Spain and Portugal and even Greece and Turkey. It is a very Mediterranean thing actually.

Good video, i love nonna's recipes 😋😘

Rosie, my grandma loves your videos! I am brazilian, but my grandma is italian and every time that I invite her to watch your videos with me, it reminds her about her nonna and she feels so good. All I have to say is thank you very much, we appreciate that!

I am from the U.S., and I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see a family cooking together, shopping together, eating together, and enjoying family time. It is so refreshing. I always look forward to these videos and can't wait to see more.
I agree, it is so nice and refreshing. Here in the US it is dismal we have lost our way.
It hurts that I’ll never get to experience this and feel and taste the amount of love put into the food and the amount of love all together with family
I feel the same way but I made my own family and you can too. You are beautiful!
I know I'll never have this either. One can dream though.
Oh, hug

WHEN THE WORLD NEEDED HER THE MOST, SHE RETURNED!!!

Nonna smiling while serving (15:54) melted my heart, Protect this woman at all costs 🥺

I think that the countries that overlook the Mediterranean Sea, such as Italy, Spain, southern France, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, we have almost the same atmosphere and daily family life, especially in the summer, and this is very cool💗💗
Yes 100%
Also Greece and Turkey
1000%%%%
Latin America is also very similar
The Middle East in general, Egypt and Asian countries Philippines....., I don't know why you're trying to seem European, because I know that drinking wine and mingling is unacceptable in Algeria and Morocco, something that has nothing to do with the Mediterranean. The culture you have is southern European
I can't tell what I'm more jealous of - how close and lovely your family is or how much access you have to diverse healthy foods hahaha
The quality of this video is insane. I love the style, the content, your family, everything!
this was like a coming of age for food, italy style. the scenery and atmosphere of it all is very wholesome and warm 🤍
